Another couple tips to keep resin from hardening too fast or extending working time after it’s mixed… 1. Divide mixed resin into smaller cups. Deep large containers of resin will “kick” (begin to cure) much faster than the same amount poured into smaller cups. 2. Don’t repeatedly heat the resin to pop bubbles until it’s poured and don’t over heat it while doing the warm bath method. Heating it can jumpstart the cure kick. 3. Place your mixed resin container in a cool water bath to stop it from heating up and kick start curing. Be sure not to get the water in the resin. I hope these help as well. Meg very good video on tips! Thanks!
Another good tip never mix your resin with wood sticks I mean u can but if you use plastic or silicon it will reduce the air bubbles dramatically wood carries air in it so it creates more bubbles
Question? I put big glitter in my clear resin pour. It cured and looks awful. What grit should I start with to get deep enough like a whole layer? Or should I use a grinder? I even have a jackhammer!
pour water into the mold before u mix the resin. then measure it. then calculate the ratio and take the same amount of resin. it will help to avoid the waste of resin
I think that only the first few casts go well when you have just opened the resin bottle. If a lot of air gets into the bottles, this no longer works. I have now repeated it four times and observed everything, but the resin does not harden completely and remains soft and sticky. They don't want us to use resin when checking the price. Airplane manufacturers pay ten cents for one kg of resin we have to pay seventy dollars.
How do you fix resin when you bake a bead with animal hair and it didn’t totally cover the underneath or the top the resin didn’t completely cover all of it. How can you fix that mistake? I hope this makes sense because they have you put the hair in the bead mold before you add any resin to it and it didn’t go all the way down to the bottom of it and it didn’t cover the top of it, because I didn’t know if I could get the little center part that keeps the hole open if that could be covered up or not. I didn’t think that that would let you pop it out of the mold. Thank you. Enjoyed watching your video.
I might have not mixed it up fully, it was clear and turned hot. I have let it cure for over a week snd it is not hardening up. It has poured over the molds, molds are a sticky residue everywhere. Any way to you save my molds and my counters?
Thank you, for your wonderful videos. I am new to resin and am completing a sculpture for Holocaust Remembrance. I am having a problem with a weird sheen that appears after hardening. I feel it is somehow related to the alcohol inks I am using. Do you have a tip for removing “sheen” spots on the top? Thank you for the work you put out for others to learn from. :0)
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind comment ❤️❤️ that sculpture sounds like a beautiful project to create 🙏🏼 I’m not sure exactly what “sheen” you mean I’m trying to visualize it haha! If you want to send me a message on Instagram and show me photos I’d be more than happy to help 😀❤️ it’s @megdionart on Instagram!
@@MegDion Thank you, for taking time to respond to my comment. I am a teacher and my students say I am old school not being on instagram, but I am on facebook:0) The sheen I am describing, is like, an oil slick on water. The surface is clear but there seems to be something there that should not be. I am in Florida. I do not know if it is me working outside or not, but it does not happen all the time so I am sure it is something wrong I am doing. I am a theatre/film teacher of middle schoolers. I have a question so I have a lot of resin marks on my wooden white desk top and I tried to used alcohol or nail remover it’s not coming off and I might have to get white wooden top for my desk
I have a question. I just unmolded a bangle bracelet. Unfortunately it’s rather soft. Is it ruined? The humidity fluctuated in our house. I tried to pour on cooler days. I used a two part resin. I have used this resin before; and didn’t have any issues with curing.

What about cracks?
Great question, I will keep this in mind for my next resin FAQ video! ❤️ The best way to avoid cracks in resin is to always pre-drill your work!
What to do if you accidentally mixed water in the resin? 😭
It’s ruined I’m sorry 😭 resin and water are not friends 😭
