  • The #Triumph #Trident - a 660cc, £7195, three-cylinder, middleweight naked #roadster - marks a new and important era for the British manufacturer. On behalf of Bennetts BikeSocial, Adam 'Chad' Child was among the few who got to ride new Triumph on the international press launch in Tenerife which presented plenty of UK-like conditions with sun, rain, fog and ice all in one-day.
    Join him on-board for all the juicy details of its price, power, torque, rider aids, all the market-grabbing headline features and, of course, his verdict.

    0:24 -- Now crossed-up is The Thing I guess. Lovely bikes these are though. I love what is going on with the new 650 class now that all the middleweights have moved up to 8-900cc right. The Norton is beautiful. Aprilia obviously has several platforms too.... Fact is, I love my Duc but I'm hooked on a Triple. Just got my 5th Triple, a Tiger800 and I'm glad I am out of the 955/1050/675 game because all of those bikes frankly go too fast up top. Tiger8 makes all the right noises but is just a bit slower but with MUCH better wind protection (I have a extension on my screen too). My Duc is a slow poke Duc too the OG Multi S. I have absolutely zero responsibility and I will use it if I have it.

      Big difference between the Yamaha and the Triumph is the number of cylinder. Many would argue the triple of the Trident would have more character and a nicer engine not but the low down grunt of the twin offers just as much in the way of entertainment in my opinion. Cheers, Michael.

    Funny these reviews view on power and fun changes when it suits the manufacturers. I swear a year or two ago the anything with < 100 hp was patted on the tank with the words "Don't get me wrong, it's a great bike, but just not exciting enough" or somesuch.

      Yes but don’t forget in which category this bike belongs: alongside with MT 07, Z650 etc. So in its league it is indeed good with 80hp etc

      @@Alexlegrand294 Hmmm, maybe. Interesting how there are no comparisons to the Husky 701s. Which, on paper, look superior for roughly the same money...
      Edit: That came across as a bit snarky. Not intentional. I totally get what you are saying. I just think this has more than a whiff of cronyism about it.

    3:06 that English posture though.

      hello. im a noob rider. what is an english posture? is there something with the way he was cornering?

    • @tamboleo
      @tamboleo 3 года назад

      @@altruism014 Yeah is just the way he turns, modern posture is with the body outside the bike and you want your elbows to go with the curve, if you pause it just in that 3:06 you will see that his elbows are pointing just the opposite way the turn is. I find it quite uncomfortable to ride like this (but i'm not criticizing), i don't hang Marc Marquez style but i hang to go with the curve, more confortable for me. If you are a noob i would recommend to go for "A twist of the wrist vol 2" by Keith Code I learnt a lot from there, sometimes the hard way...

    I really like that apart from the clock, it would have been nice to see one on the bar clamps like dare i say it, a Harley softail standard. That's only my opinion anyway and even at £7200 it's still 7 grand more than i could afford at the moment so they ain't losing a sale over it 🤣🤣
    I love Chad's reviews i feel like I've grown up with them. Him and Neevesy are my favourite testers 👍👍👍

    Love the style (tho red accents are an odd choice, black would look better imho) & not a fan of all the rider aids.

    Awesome looking bike, exhaust note is lacking though. Sounds like a sewing machine. Maybe it sounds better in person.

    Plate over the back wheel is ugly. Yamaha done this with the MT09 then quickly switched back for the new model. Hopefully there's an after market tail tidy option down the line. Also the plastic and logo on the tank make it look cheap. Few tweeks and it could be a decent looking bike.

      Yup, that tank has too much textual graphics. It's like a small kid yelling in a crowd.
