I used to borrow a splitter. When I finally bought one, it was so nice to be able to split a lot or just a few. Worth it to get your own if you burn wood for heat or syrup

I always knip the pumpkin seeds shell as well as my squash seeds it much faster germination and much easier to remove the shell from the beginning leaves 😉my second succession of squash are taking off. My 1st plants were over come by squash boring bugs thankfully my Patty pan had a sucker which rooted itself, I trimmed it off the main and actually removed all my infected plants and plan to turn the bed over early august, hopefully past SBB season 🤞any ideas for spray or fogging to kill them off ? I hate using sprays but loosing my plants in middle of season sucks esp for my pumpkins guess I won’t be raising a record breaker this year. My 35lb big max I grew last year is still sitting in my hallway. Not a sign of rot, I was planning to making it into a pot to regrow more pumpkins but lacked time to process it 😊 priorities

That sucks about your squash. I hate having to spray as well but sometimes it's either spray or not have anything at all. Did you try neem oil? Only other thing is seven, if you get the liquid kind I think you are able to Harvest pretty quick after treatment.

@@GagneFarms I didn’t try anything but let it run it course, just started new sprouts to plant in place and hopefully it’s past the pests life cycle 🤞

I've been wondering if... because our Spring got so hot so fast and so early down here in FL will we get an early colder Winter?
We went from cool to hot overnight. We don't normally hit the 90's till July. We were over a month and a half early on that.
Last time that happened was almost a decade ago and we had a pretty cold and early winter.

I was thinking the same thing. It got hot here about a month earlier as well. I am planning on a cooler fall that starts earlier this year.
