Autumn fly-fishing on the River Irfon, Mid-Wales

Join Lyn on the Melyn Cildu beat of the mystical River Irfon - a tributary of the RIver Wye in Mid-Wales. Being early October, the target species is grayling, but the trout seem to have forgotten they're out-of-season. Throughout the video, Lyn demonstrates both the euro-nymph and upstream dry fly techniques amongst the beautiful autumnal landscape. Lyn's 'top tips' feature is aimed at beginners, or those new to fishing rivers.

Congratulations on a very good instructional video. Your love of the river and fly fishing express themselves throughout. Nice to see how carefully you handled the Grayling, and didn’t hold her up for ages just get a photo. Despite lots of new flys & materials there is still lots of magic in the classic flys; they have caught thousands of fish, long live the Red Tag!

Well done on a superb grayling , this must have been before storm babet as since then my rivers the banwy and vyrnwy have been permanently in spate for about 6wks now so my hopes of quiet autumn grayling fishing went out of the window.
