Does it help Hywel, when you speak to them? I speak to them often, but they don't seem to listen. As a catch and release man, often, I try to kiss them good-bye also, but they rarely pucker up. The fish are either shy or I might need to find a new approach. Nicely done, by the way. A thumbs up from me. 👍
For this beat, you will need to get the day ticket ticket in Conti's newsagents in the town. For other beats on the Wye, have a look on the Fishing Passport site, which has a lot of great options for fly fishing: www.fishingpassport.co.uk/fishing/upper-wye
Thank you Hywel lovely film beautiful country.
Glad you enjoyed it
Crossed that bridge a few weeks ago and was jealous of the two guys fishing there….Beautiful spot looks full of promise. Great video again Hywel 😊
It's a fantastic bit of water :)
Thanks for sharing this Hywel...very helpful and enjoyable...appreciate your keeping things simple....great fun, happy days
Thank you 🎣🏴
Excellent Hywel. Enjoyed watching.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video, most these days are only interested in catching a fat lazy 50 lbs
carp !!
Wild fishing, on a stunning river

Talking to fish always seems to work!
Purple squirmy. Nice tip.
Just discovered this and wondering about a trip next year. What’s the wading like at this venue as I’m not the world’s most confident!
Builth Town is one of the easiest beats on the Wye for wading, mostly gravel and fairly gentle sloping banks.
Very helpful just started euro leent a few things can I ask where did you get those purple squirmy from can't find that colour no where thankyou
Great video. Very informative. Question what chest back do you have?
it's a Daiwa chest pack
Informative video. Thinking about giving that a go this season, can you feel the bites or is it the sight indicator that's working for you ?
do you need to pay for tickets/have a membership to fly fish on the wye? if so how can you find beats to fish on? had no luck so far.

How would you compare the stocks of brown trout in the upper Wye compared to say 30 years ago?
trout stocks seem to be very healthy on the upper Wye and tribs
Is that beat available through the Wye & Usk Fishing Passport, Hywel?
No, ticket in conti newsagents in the town
What rod is that?
It looks like a Daiwa Air AGS 9/10 #3/4 Nymph special
Fantastic video. But £15-£20 for a day ticket is daylight robbery.
@@wallogator11 thank you. DT price is only around £10, so one of the cheaper options on this part of the Wye.
