    This was a brilliant day! Absolutely loved it. Arguably the best welsh river I’ve fished in the past 10 years. Thanks Ceri and Terry for a great day 😊👍

    Guys I fished this stretch purely based on the Twitter post you’d put up promoting it .. it’s a superb stretch ( as you well know) and whilst I caught my grayling on the trotting gear I’m gonna give the nymphing ago next trip .. thanks again

      We've seen wild trout of 5lb caught on the same stretch! So also worth a go in summer for trout

    Terry, Ceri...great video....what beautiful grayling on the fly !...thanks a lot for sharing ...may I ask if you ever use a net retractor (like a Gear Keeper / Orvis retractor etc) attached to a D-ring on the back of your chest pack/vest, or just a simple magnet + lanyard system which looks less bulky?....many thanks

      Just a magnet & lanyard system 👍

    I’m very sad to inform you that the River Irfon is one of rivers in the upper Wye catchment testing high levels of nitrates and phosphates. The likely source of this pollution is the proliferation of intensive chicken sheds.

      Ithon I think you mean, different river similar name. The irfon runs off the Cambrian mountains and has good water quality.

    What indicator are you using

    • @FishingInWales
      @FishingInWales  2 года назад

      It's the yellow mono core from some old Airflo braided backing

      Thank you where would you say the best place to fish in merthyr is ive just joined the angling club looking for most productive pools

    • @FishingInWales
      @FishingInWales  2 года назад

      @@jamiewilliams1287 the fish are well spread out through the whole stretch, just look for deeper pools with fast runs coming in at this time of year. A lot of it is finding the fish yourself, it requires leg-work and each season is different in what each pool holds.
