Killer pronunciation of Adrian's name. Sabaton does enjoy to mess around with their sound and vibe of a song often so it's always fun that they keep you on your toes.
I think their most unique song is "ballad of bull". It's easy to write songs about great last stands and great charges and such but ballad of bull is about a simple Aussie stretcher bearer who never fired a shot. What he did was, at risk to his own safety, carry out twelve wounded men under heavy machine gun fire, to whom he had no connection, they were complete strangers. It's a song that doesn't get much coverage and really deserves far more.
There is a lot to experience of Sabaton. "No bullets fly" animated story video as suggested earlier is great. Just make sure to watch it to the very end. "The Night witches" is another great animated story video. If you want a really good live performance I would suggest "En livstid i krig" live from Gothenburg from The Great Tour. Be sure to have caption on since they sing in Swedish. The message is as valid now as it was in the 30 year War. The live performances from Woodstock Poland 2012 is great especially "40:1" and "Uprising"; polish WW2 stories for mainly Polish crowed is amazing (there was more than half a million in that crowed). Also "Ghost Division" from the same concert is super. A special event for Sabaton was at Wacken 2019 where they celebrated 20th years as s band. They had current and all former band members performing on two sets (the two main sets at Wacken, side by side). The song " Swedish Pagans" from that concert is a must watch. If you want more videos chech out "Bismark" great video with stunning CGI (done by a game company as far as I know). The new video "Soldiers of Heaven" is really good an have a little bit special sound in my opinion. There is much more. And also Sabaton has their own history youtube channel.

I agree really wish they had made this song little bit longer. Love how how Neidel (person acting Sir Adrian) embraces the satirical stuff he does like charging alone from the trenches to get shot in the eye, then yelling threats while standing with no cover shooting his submachine gun. The real Sir Adrian truly loved being in life or death situations...

This is such a peculiar song, it sounds upbeat and the acting is almost comical in a Monty Python style but there's always that lingering melancholy for the suffering this man went through. 13:00 to call him a "well decorated" war veteran is a bit of an understatement if you ask me. His list of awards is quite substantial - not the least of which being nothing else than the Victoria Cross - which only 1358 people were ever awarded since its creation in 1856 (for comparison: The Medal of Honor was awarded 3530 times since its inception in 1861 - which is almost three times the number of V.C. recipients). As a matter of fact he was that big a deal back then that the foreword to his memories was written by none other than Winston S. Churchill himself!
It may not be the best song of sabaton but I still recommend it: "Inmate 4859" portrays the story of a man with incomprehensible resilience and dedication. It was because of this song that I read his biogrophy "The volunteer" which is phenomenal at putting our own struggles into perspective.
Great reaction. There are already a lot of suggestions, but I would add En livstid i Krieg, live from Gotheborg. It is imposible to watch that performance without goosebumps, especially nowadays.

Both of the Sabaton videos you have reacted to is from the latest album. There are two more videos from that, Soldier of heaven and Race to the sea. All about WW1. My suggestion are No bullets fly and make shure it is the animated STORY video.
This video was very tongue-in-cheek, and sorta mocks FPS games, treating the subject like a respawning player. Indy Neidell plays the main, he is part of three amazing history channels on RUclips. TimeGhost, The Great War, and World War 2. Here's a good Startng list of Sabaton: En Livstig I Krig - live at Gothenburg, watch with subs (There is an English language version "A Lifetime at War", which is also great, but the context is different, En Livstig I Krieg is more personal while A Lifetime at War is more generalized about the horror and injustice of war itself. Both cover the 30 Years War from ~1618 to 1648, between mostly Catholic and Protestant forces.) No Bullets Fly - Animated Version, I don't want to spoil this one. To Hell And Back - Official, focus on PTSD, Audie Murphey is the topic and some of the lyrics are taken from his poem "Crosses Grow on Anzio." Bismarck - Official, deals with the German battleship. This is just Sabaton at their most epic. The Royal Guard - about the Swedish Royal Guard, which has existed for over 500 years. It's more ballad that metal. This is good mix, and a good taste of some of their styles.
Im swedish so im biased but i think the swedish version of a lifte at war (en livstid i krig) is better. especially the live version it does have english subtitles
@@andersstromqvist2211 oh no, don't worry it is better, but for (at least me) a not swedish speaker, En Livstid i Krig is really complicated to pronounce and remember, even if you enjoy it more when listening to it. I really like both versions a lot and I'd recommend her to watch both!
Sabaton is one of those bands that you can't help but get emotionally involved from the first note to the last. You are sucked right in to that moment. You're a soldier of the 24th Regiment of Foot at Roarke's Drift. You're a Winged Hussar charging towards the besieged city of Vienna. You're a Russian soldier in WWI, coughing up blood as you were gassed, still willing to fight off 14 battalions of Germans in a battle called The Attack of The Dead Men. Afterwards, you realized that those were hard men. True Warriors to survive all that.
Please do "No Bullets Fly", the animated video. It hits different and the story is one of the greatest displays of humanity in the midst of a terrible time. It hits even harder with the follow-up after the song ends.
Great reaction Aileen. If you want more song suggestions: No bullets fly - animated video is always amazing. Next could be Bismarck, To Hell And Back, Night Witches, The Last Stand, Soldier of Heaven, The Atack of the Dead Men, Seven Pillars of Wisdom, 40:1
No bullet fly, livstid i krig, night witches, red baron, attack of the dead man. Bangers all of them. Sabaton got a 20 year old catalog to lissen to. So enjoy 😁
One of my favorite Sabaton songs is Sarajevo it is different sounding than Christmas Truce and the Unkillable Soldier. This song is about what started World War 1. It is more of a naration and parts are singing in the song. I also like Race to the Sea by them as well. I just discovered Sabaton at the beginning of this year and I am really enjoying their music. In September I am going to see them in concert which will be really cool.
Yes, we could all learn from sir Adrian. We could all tear our own fingers off when they are in the way. ;) When it comes to the music, one thing I love about Sabaton is that they always (at least nowadays) make sure that the music fits the topic. So for christmas truce, they did a slow, somber and triumphant song with a little christmas feel added. In this one, they did a fast and fun song, together with a fun video for a madman that thought that war was fun. Another great example is "Ghost division", which is about a panzer division that moved so fast that nobody knew where they were, so the music reflects that too, they play at breakneck speed on that one. Or one of my favourites, "The price of a mile" that just hits you with gutpunch after gutpunch of despair in both the story and the sound..
Heartbreaking Sabaton songs: No bullets fly (animated video), Final solution, price of a mile, en livstid I krig (live from gothenburg, use subtitles), uprising Bad ass songs: Night Witches (animated video), To hell and back, 82nd all the way Lady of the dark, 40:1 More suggestions: Bismarck, winged Hussars, solider of heaven, Primo Victoria, attack of the dead men, Carolus Rex (both Swedish and English versions work)
I usually lean towards the more "up beat/major" sounding songs so: Seven Pillars Of Wisdom (official music video): ruclips.net/video/eaW76aDKObk/видео.html 82nd All The Way (official lyric video): ruclips.net/video/0LS0Z8fgiII/видео.html The Valley Of Death (official lyric video): ruclips.net/video/eAy2eVlvaZQ/видео.html Devil Dogs (official music video): ruclips.net/video/sphuv7tTNKs/видео.html The Last Stand (official music video: ruclips.net/video/i9BupglHdtM/видео.html Swedish Pagans (live from Wacken): ruclips.net/video/NWnuSZ5pwNA/видео.html Less "up beat": En Livstid I Krig (live from Gothenburg/Göteborg, use subs): ruclips.net/video/WBs3G1PvyfM/видео.html Most songs like Night Witches etc have already been mentioned.
As an officer he never even carried a gun, being worried he’d shoot one of his own men in rage.. So he went to the frontline.. with one arm, one eye and NO gun!
Considering how dedicated a soldier he was, I would hate to see how he would respond to a coward. His choice to not carry a firearm is simple self awareness.
Only a matter of time before she discovers Sabatons gothic brother Powerwolf and their looney pirate cousin Alestorm. If you want THE Sabaton sound you gotta do Primo Victoria, Winged Hussars and The Last Stand. The big ones to touch on, besides the ones mentioned above, are No Bullets Fly (animated story video), Night Witches (animated story again), Bismarck (official music video), The Great War (official music video) and En Livstid I Krig (live from the great tour, dont forget to turn on captions as i doubt you speak Swedish) Carolus Rex (live from the great tour) and everyone's favourite, Ghost Division (live at Woodstock) That being said, welcome to the club, enjoy the rabbithole, hope you delve into the Sabaton History channel at one point
Older songs by Sabaton to check out with the extended animations “Night Witches”and “No bullets Fly” Night witches is about the 588 Night bomber regiment. No bullets fly will restore your faith in humanity and have tissues handy
Attack of the dead men is another good one about people refusing to die, and resist and bite is another good one (and an older one of theirs) about fighting against greater numbers and odds.
You need to start watching Sabaton History because it takes the songs and goes into describing the actual events the the songs describe only it goes into depth.
I actually am from the same area as Sabaton. Dalecarlia in Sweden. Lots of great musicians in various genres come from here. You should watch and listen to Sabaton guitarrist Tommy Johansson singing ”you raise me up”. You will be surprised. 😊 Stay Metal! 🤘😎🤘
Such a good song fun fact this man, was also in 2 plane crashes during wartime, both were the only time I flew and both ended with the plane crashing and him surviving
This man was crazy and just straight up a force of nature he faught in the 2nd boer war, ww1, and ww2 only to die peacefully in Ireland some 20 years later, he even went to ww2 with one hand but that didn't stop him from throwing grenades by pulling the pin with his teeth, hell his plane was shot down over the mederterian in ww2 it crashed in the sea and he then with some missing fingers and pretty old at this point he swam one of his soldiers to the beach where he was taken prisoner by the Italians. Then he and a bunch of other older soldiers banded together and dug their way out the camp there's a wiki page on him that anyone interested should definitely look at it
Brotherhood is very common among Veterans. As I am a Veteran of the British Army having served for over 20 years. We will carry on always remember times when you are out of money, sitting on your bunk and your room mate says fancy a beer and you say you are broke. They say they have a few (English term) bob, lets go for a drink. The next time you returned the favour.
Not only do they write songs around history, they have a Sabaton History channel. Here's the post for the Unkillable Soldier: ruclips.net/video/NpR1pgjDA74/видео.html
There was a spanish soldier that was also pretty much unkillable, but as he was asociated with the spanish fascist, in fact he was I think a general during the civil war people dontreally like to talk about him, he also created the spanish Legion, inspired on the french legion, their motto in that moment was ."long live death"
While my wife and I laugh about and think he kept getting injured just to go back and see his nurse, I truly believe this man was the literal embodiment of the Demon Murphy. Heaven don't want him and Hell is afraid he will take over. Something happens, Demon Murphy pops up his head about to be a smarty, but sees it is the Unkillable Soldier and just utters a bunch of 4 letter words befor sinking back down knowing he is already been beat.
Sabaton is an incredible band I know you have a list of songs but if you could you should add Cradle of Filth- Nymphetamine Fix to that list. Another great band and this is one of their most iconic songs. It's a great song that I think you would really love
You first listened to Sabaton during their WW1 recording set. They cover many historical events and history. Some are sad, many rock and some you just want to cheer them on. Night Witches, The Final Stand and Winged Hussars i would reccomend for you to look into along with No Bullets Fly.
i think one of my favorite facts about the dude is that in the battle where his hand got blown off. he still kept fighting, choosing to toss grenades at the enemy with his remaining hand and pulling the pin with his teeth and and then lead a charge with just his service revolver
The song "Talvisota", or winter war in English, hits close to home for me since both my grandfathers and their brothers fought the Russians in that war and the continuation war after that and finally to get the nazis out of Northern Finland after that.
I love the quality of your audio! You have a great voice that is beautiful and calming! Have you ever tought about doing a sleeping pod ? I think you could really help alot of people that have problems sleeping by just talking about what ever thats not to interessting. I would love to hear your calming nice voice to help me go to sleep ❤
You would love the animated story of the, night witches, its an amazing story of woman who broke the glass celling. They became the first stealth bombers back in ww2 using outdated ww1 planes made of cloth and wood. Only a few that made it back after the war, were given the Hero of the Soviet Union issued by Joseph Stalin himself. We should all ways remember the fallen and there sacrifice!
You should definitely react to more of the latest album (of which Christmas Truce and The Unkillable Soldier where part of), as well as some of their older (yet just as good) material (of which I highly recommend the live version of En Livstid I Krig (with subs on))
Sabaton are the greatest band on the planet as their music is fantastic and that they tell true historical events also sing songs about heroes that done incredible things and there stories get told. Very much recommend those too!
I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on sabaton. Therefore , I wish you would watch a live performance next time. I've been a fan of Sabaton since 2007 since the first time I saw them live and I think many others also found them this way. I recommend their most used consert opener, Ghost division. Search for Sabaton Ghost division (official live video) or chose just a great performance from the same consert, Sabaton uprising (official live video).
no bullets fly and soldier of heaven are two other sabaton songs I can recommend. thinking some more, Bismark, a reasonably accurate video showing historical details in an amazing way thanks to computer animation with as per usual music and lyrics painting the battle in their unique style.
Sabaton are truly amazing in what they do, i would recommend having a listen to " To Hell and Back " its about Audie Murphy. It is so well done just like all of their songs , Another recommendation would be " Attack Of The Dead men " .
My personal favourite off all sabaton songs must be “the last battle” or “hearts of iron”. But the first song I ever heard was Panzerkampf. And “en livstid I krig” with the live video is so powerful, I would really recommend all four of the songs. The last battle Hearts of iron Panzerkampf En livstid i krig (live from Gothenburg)

This video was very tongue-in-cheek, and sorta mocks FPS games, treating the subject like a respawning player. Indy Neidell plays the main, he is part of three amazing history channels on RUclips. TimeGhost, The Great War, and World War 2.
Here's a good Startng list of Sabaton:
En Livstig I Krig - live at Gothenburg, watch with subs
(There is an English language version "A Lifetime at War", which is also great, but the context is different, En Livstig I Krieg is more personal while A Lifetime at War is more generalized about the horror and injustice of war itself. Both cover the 30 Years War from ~1618 to 1648, between mostly Catholic and Protestant forces.)
No Bullets Fly - Animated Version, I don't want to spoil this one.
To Hell And Back - Official, focus on PTSD, Audie Murphey is the topic and some of the lyrics are taken from his poem "Crosses Grow on Anzio."
Bismarck - Official, deals with the German battleship. This is just Sabaton at their most epic.
The Royal Guard - about the Swedish Royal Guard, which has existed for over 500 years. It's more ballad that metal.
This is good mix, and a good taste of some of their styles.
Hii Aileen
Nice, Sabaton was one of the first bands I really liked on the start of my journey to becoming a Metalhead!
Sabaton - Carolus Rex Album mainly
No Bullets Fly, Lady of the Dark, Night Witches--all worth reviewing from Sabaton
Adrian Carton de Wiart is what I would call an absolute mad lad
We could all tear our own fingers off when they are in the way. ;)
When it comes to the music, one thing I love about Sabaton is that they always (at least nowadays) make sure that the music fits the topic.
You’re the only reactor I’ve seen that also applies Sabaton songs to their own life like I do. Great War is my favorite song for this reason.
One of my favourite songs from Sabaton is „Gott mit uns“ :)
Heartbreaking Sabaton songs: No bullets fly (animated video), Final solution, price of a mile, en livstid I krig (live from gothenburg, use subtitles), uprising
Bad ass songs: Night Witches (animated video), To hell and back, 82nd all the way Lady of the dark, 40:1
More suggestions: Bismarck, winged Hussars, solider of heaven, Primo Victoria, attack of the dead men, Carolus Rex (both Swedish and English versions work)
The guy that is playing Adrian is a man known as Indy Nidel that does a ton of WW2 stuff and worked with Sabaton.
No bullets fly animated story. You wont regret this video.
I usually lean towards the more "up beat/major" sounding songs so:
Seven Pillars Of Wisdom (official music video): ruclips.net/video/eaW76aDKObk/видео.html
82nd All The Way (official lyric video): ruclips.net/video/0LS0Z8fgiII/видео.html
The Valley Of Death (official lyric video): ruclips.net/video/eAy2eVlvaZQ/видео.html
Devil Dogs (official music video): ruclips.net/video/sphuv7tTNKs/видео.html
The Last Stand (official music video: ruclips.net/video/i9BupglHdtM/видео.html
Swedish Pagans (live from Wacken): ruclips.net/video/NWnuSZ5pwNA/видео.html
Less "up beat":
En Livstid I Krig (live from Gothenburg/Göteborg, use subs): ruclips.net/video/WBs3G1PvyfM/видео.html
Most songs like Night Witches etc have already been mentioned.
Sabaton is a great Band .
The big ones to touch on, besides the ones mentioned above, are No Bullets Fly (animated story video), Night Witches (animated story again), Bismarck (official music video), The Great War (official music video) and En Livstid I Krig (live from the great tour, dont forget to turn on captions as i doubt you speak Swedish) Carolus Rex (live from the great tour) and everyone's favourite, Ghost Division (live at Woodstock)
That being said, welcome to the club, enjoy the rabbithole, hope you delve into the Sabaton History channel at one point
Older songs by Sabaton to check out with the extended animations “Night Witches”and “No bullets Fly”
Night witches is about the 588 Night bomber regiment.
Stay Metal!
🤘😎🤘
Such a good song fun fact this man, was also in 2 plane crashes during wartime, both were the only time I flew and both ended with the plane crashing and him surviving
The rarest class of soldier, mostly found in the British army. The Absolute Mad Lad.
Mad but very very good at it... 😉🇬🇧
There was a comment years ago on one of their videos: "What is with historians and metal?"
Reply: "Because history IS metal."
Then he and a bunch of other older soldiers banded together and dug their way out the camp there's a wiki page on him that anyone interested should definitely look at it
i know sabaton and indy Neidell had fun doing this music video for sure
As a swed I'm so happy that u make reactions to sabayon ,I love your channel 😃😃😃
More Sabaton!
TO HELL AND BACK
Bismarck
Soldier of Heaven
En Livstid I Kreg
Screaming Eagles
Fields of Verdun
Seven Pillars of Wisdom
Sabaton is an incredible band I know you have a list of songs but if you could you should add Cradle of Filth- Nymphetamine Fix to that list. Another great band and this is one of their most iconic songs. It's a great song that I think you would really love
You first listened to Sabaton during their WW1 recording set. They cover many historical events and history. Some are sad, many rock and some you just want to cheer them on. Night Witches, The Final Stand and Winged Hussars i would reccomend for you to look into along with No Bullets Fly.
Grandgrandpa here. Only Sabaton make a fast Polka,( Hungarian Chardash) to a War Song. Great.
Hello Aileen, I would say one of my favorites is Hearts of iron, it is one of the more underrated songs of Sabaton that really stands out to me.
"The Final Solution" and "The Price Of A Mile"
More Sabaton!!!
i think one of my favorite facts about the dude is that in the battle where his hand got blown off. he still kept fighting, choosing to toss grenades at the enemy with his remaining hand and pulling the pin with his teeth and and then lead a charge with just his service revolver
Light In The Dark is an amazingly beautiful song. So is Ballad Of The Bull and Hearts Of Iron
Adrian Carton de Wiart, The Unkillable Soldier - "I quite enjoyed the war."
As an Australian I'm bias I really like the song they did for a family freinds grandparents called the ballad of bull
Sabaton are the greatest history teachers in the world. I have always been interested in history especially military history from a young age. British Sabaton fan 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Great reaction and analysis, not only to the song but I totally agree with your thoughts on the history and todays world.
If you are interested to learn even more history behind the songs and music videos, they have another RUclips channel called Sabaton History and they make longer and more thorough videos behind the stories. Very much recommend those too!
Soldier of heaven. So good
I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on sabaton.
"frankly i enjoyed the war".
me too Adrian, me too.....
damn, this person actually reads from the already prepared text (I think so at least) but the quantity of YOU KNOW is overwhelming
You have to understand yesterday to make an better tomorrow
no bullets fly and soldier of heaven are two other sabaton songs I can recommend. thinking some more, Bismark, a reasonably accurate video showing historical details in an amazing way thanks to computer animation with as per usual music and lyrics painting the battle in their unique style.
Fight on your feet, don’t submit on your knees.
No bullets fly (as often requested here), or the last battle would definitely be other great songs to hear next on your sabaton - rabbithole journey
The subject is so crazy that I found some Monthy Python style in the song and video!
I would heavily recommend Night Witches and Red Baron by Sabaton. They are my 2 favourite songs by them
Start talking for Hannes & Floor ... heartbeat jump from 73 to 83 in 10 seconds :D
Am I the only one that noticed the angel of death repeatedly telling him it's not his time to go?
Sabaton are truly amazing in what they do, i would recommend having a listen to " To Hell and Back " its about Audie Murphy. It is so well done just like all of their songs , Another recommendation would be " Attack Of The Dead men " .
No bullets fly or nightwitches animated story videos.
My personal favourite off all sabaton songs must be “the last battle” or “hearts of iron”.
But the first song I ever heard was Panzerkampf.
And “en livstid I krig” with the live video is so powerful, I would really recommend all four of the songs.
The last battle
Hearts of iron
Panzerkampf
En livstid i krig (live from Gothenburg)
White Death is also really freaking good
You should check the Sabaton History channel, you gonna like it!
I can't wait to see your reaction to Solider of Heaven
great vid! more Sabaton please, do "no bullets fly", "Last stand" or "Great War".
React To Ice Nine Kills Hip To Be Scared please
Love your reactions and you have a bunch of good songs and videos. And take a look at Sabatons history canal that explained every video.
"Ive kiled him I swear!" Some panicked German soldier
