The actor playing Sir Adrian is Indy Neidell who already played T.E. Lawrence aka Lawrence of Arabia in Sabaton's video for the song Seven Pillars Of Wisdom. He is host not only of the "Sabaton History" channel but also of "The Great War" (from 2014 to 2018), "World War Two", "The Korean War by Indy Neidell" and "TimeGhost History".
He also survived two plane crashes and was apparently living in Poland when WW2 started and his house was amongst the first targets the Germans bombed when they invaded.
Adrian Carton de Wiart - During the Polish-Bolshevik War (1919-1920) he was a liaison between the British Ministry of War and the Polish command, he participated in the smuggling of weapons from Hungary to Poland through Czechoslovakia, which was hostile to Poland. After the war, he was a resident of British intelligence in Poland. In the summer of 1939, he was recalled to active service as the head of the military mission in Poland. After the outbreak of the war, he expressed his willingness to take part in the fighting, but eventually he went to Romania with the British mission. He avoided internment by leaving Romania using a false passport. He participated in subsequent military campaigns, including: in Norway. During the desert campaign, he was captured by the Italians, from where he tried to escape. Freed from captivity during Italian armistice negotiations; later he was Churchill's representative to Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek. At the end of 1947, he finally retired from military service.
The Bagpipes, Whistles & Gunfire in the beginning sounds like a true Scottish festival of Kilt & Warrior bad a**ness to me. I can't turn up the volume of "The Unkillable Soldier" enough. "The First Soldier" is another WW1 Sabaton banger.
as usual a great reaction. yeah, they deliberately made the video with plot armour cranked to max... but it is kind of fitting. he simply was that extra. he actually was such a nuisance he was transferred to extreme security pow camp, wich he promptly escaped from... about like Audie Murphy, in the film about him they had to damp his heroics down, they where so extreme that Hollywood was shying away from some of them as they would make it unbelievable, considering what they show in some films it gives a idea of HOW extreme he was.
Another amazing reaction video. You were spot on with Sabaton making this song a little more comical than their other stuff, Sir Adrian's exploits were so unbelievable, it made fictional superheroes seem like nothing. If Sir Adrian had a line from Red Dwarf it would be "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!" so I get your reference to Ace Rimmer for sure. 😂 I'll be waiting for the next video.
I don't know why , but this video remains me of Monty Python Flying Circus (The Holy Grail) where the black knight lost his arms, legs and so on, but still want to fight😁
Sabaton did this video to mock a little bit with online game players as they are as risky as Sir Adrian was. That's why they they cheering every time as they shoot him, as gamers do! 😀 They are little bit like unkillable soldiers as well. They always spawn back! They guy that act as Sir Adrian is no one less than Indy Neidell from Sabaton History Channel. Great reaction to a great song!
It does sound impossible but it is actually true, obv not like it happened in the video, it was several conflicts. The choire in this song is awesome, ty for the reaction, well done as usual. Be safe all
Lieutenant-general Sir Adrian Paul Ghislain Carton de Wiart VC, KBE, CB, CMG, DSO 4th Dragoon Guards was a Belgian-Irish officer in the British army. His two closest cousins were Count Henri Carton de Wiart, Prime Minister of Belgium and Baron Edmond Carton de Wiart, political secretary to the King of Belgium and president director of La Société Générale de Belgique. In 1908 he married Countess Friederike Fugger von Babenhausen, the eldest daughter of Karl, 5th Prince Fugger von Babenhausen and Princess Eleonora zu Hohenlohe-Bartenstein und Jagstberg of Klagenfurt in Austria.
Lord Flashheart. Hell yeah ! As Dutch kids we grew up with the Young Youngs, Black Adder, Bottom. Oooooh miss those times. The Age before the Orwellian Thought Police. Happy days ! RIP in Rik, you beautiful bastard.
Randomly I thought I’d recommend some Monster Magnet for some rock. One of those bands that should have been bigger, but drugs… Plenty of amazing songs And that is mr. Indy Nidell. If you ever want to know anything about the world wars, search RUclips for his name
Sir Adrian falls into that group of real life heroes, that if you made a movie or action drama series about them, the general public would think Hollywood over exaggerated . Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart , Daniel Daly, the first British Commandos (although they have the awesome documentary by Jeremy Clarkson which is also on RUclips) all deserve , imo, to have films made about them.
2025 this far confirmed UK gigs -December 2025: 04 - LONDON, The O2 Arena (United Kingdom) 05 - MANCHESTER, Co-op Live (United Kingdom) 06 - NOTTINGHAM, Motorpoint Arena United Kingdom: I think Manchester is closest (to Edinburgh)
Smoke me a kipper.... I´ll be back for breakfast.... Got to love red dwarf... I sitll have every single dvd ever made from that series.... and still watch it from time to time
actually...there were nurses that hot lol. Sir Adrianne himself he thought thats one of the reasons why he kept surviving, it was to see her lovely face lol
Hi, the video is not really accurate, but I don't think that's a problem. (Nurses didn't wear pants, they didn't usually amputate damaged limbs, and the machine gun only started to spread at the very end, to name a few examples, although the American Thompson was only made after the war.) Sir Adrian participated in 3 wars, his first wound was in the Boer War, where he served as a simple private (he died as a Lieutenant General). He was wounded 9 times in the First World War, but he also participated in the Second. He escaped from a prisoner of war camp, survived two plane crashes, even at the age of 60. Hence his name, The Unkillable Soldier. In the clip, Indy is played by the host of Sabaton History. He had a difficult life. A tribute to dedicated, brave people.
Why should she? He was belgian and only fought for british army and I dont think any of the regements or anything like that was scottish and he was burried in Ireland, not much to do with Scotland. So if she is not a history/war "nerd" and read about it why should she know him?
Spot on! And I didn’t really do much modern history. I was stuck in French absolutism and medieval times. My special subject was….Scotland in the Thirty Years War 😬
Heyyyy is that you Steve? (My professor). I know Alexander Leslie really well and if you want a good book on the subject my old professor Steve Murdoch & his wife Alexia Grosjean are academically recognised as the ultimate authority on the subject. Any of their books is amazing. I felt very lucky to have him as my professor. I even went to visit Wallenstein’s castle in Prague. 😁😁😁
Fun fact: Sir Adrian kept being sent back to the same hospital so often that they kept a personal set of pajamas for him! 😅
That’s amazing lol
Thats honestly hilarious lmao

Oh wow I didn’t realise that
Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart's story reads like a comic book, and I think Sabaton captures it well! I love it!
💯
He also survived two plane crashes and was apparently living in Poland when WW2 started and his house was amongst the first targets the Germans bombed when they invaded.
His life is unbelievable
@@themetalmuseHe also commanded Allied forces in China during WW2
I saw that! I was like heyyyyy I’ve been there.
The book "Happy Odyssey" is Adrian Carton de Wiart's autobiography 😁
Ah ha! Thank you.
@@themetalmuse finished reading it a couple days ago. All I have to say is that i'm even more confused as to how he survived

Sabaton are the Best, I saw them in Glasgow last tour and i've just got tickets for 6th December for Manchester can't wait, Great Reaction
This song and video are just so much fun!
Makes me chuckle so much.
Sir Adrian was Wile E. Coyote, the original version.
Lol
Guy was born with plot armor, best way I can describe this madlad.

"why won't you die?!" bit you were thinking of was austin powers, I believe
Ah ha! That’s been bugging me.
Or the knight in Monty Python
Adrian Carton de Wiart Was part Belgian part Irish. The beginning of the song tells it. Son of belgium and Ireland with war in his blood
Got to love reactors who bring substance and a great dialect!

Adrian is a bit like Kenny from Southpark. He gets killed in every episode, but comes back the next one
Tommy Lee Jones' Two-Face said that to Val Kilmer's Batman. "Why won't you just die?!?"
Sabaton History. This particular episode is fantastic.

I only meant of the historical accuracy of the costume.
The movie you are referencing with the why won’t you just die is B for Vendetta
MyLady, I suggest Soldier of 3 Armies from Sabaton
