This is one of the stories where I can"t believe they didn't make a Hollywood movie about this. Sabaton did have fun with this video including hot nurse and few other things and that's because the story of this guy is so crazy that they felt they can go little crazy with the video. I strongly recommend watching Sabaton History episode about this song, it's unbelievable
Sir Adrian Carton De Wiart fought in 3 wars, was shot in the face, head, stomach, leg, ankle ,hip, and ear. He was blinded in the left eye, survived 2 plane crashes, tunneled out of a prisoner of war camp, and tore off his own fingers when the doctors refused to amputate. That quote on the paper at the end of the video was a real quote he made about his time in WWI. He passed away in 1963 at age 83. He is played in this video by Indy Neidell. Indy is the host of the Sabaton History channel. The band took a few 'liberties' with the story and had some fun with the video. Try the animated story videos for No Bullets Fly and Night Witches.
you forgot about him falling off a moving train while in a gun fight (with just his pistol) with Russain corsack's in 1919/20 while he was stationed in Poland. he fell off got up ran and jumped back on the train and kept firing till the train was able to gain speed and pull away

SIr Adrian Carton De Wiart was a very important attaché during the early parts of WW2, where he helped Poland defend itself and many high ranking people escape when they were run over in 1939, he was then moved to Yugoslavia who got invaded in 1941 and he helped the resistance fight against Nazi occupation until he got captured and sent into a prison camp in Italy. He would then attempt to escape from prison 3 times and the last time he succeded by tunneling out of the prison, but he was quickly caught again since he had his eye patch and did not speak a word of Italian. He was then used by the Italian government to send their peace negotiations to the Allies in 1943 and was flown to Portugal to hand over the Italian surrender. After World War 2 he was then sent to China, and even had dinner with Mao Zedong, and got knighted for his service before retiring and moving to Namibia. Keep in mind he did all that after being blinded in the left eye, tearing off his own fingers on the left hand, and having been shot in the face, stomach, leg, ankle, hip and ear in the Boar Wars (1899-1902) in South Africa and World War 1. He was the only British amputee high level commander that would be actually send out to other countries during World War 2, and one of the lowest ranking soldiers to be knighted for his service. It was quite exceptional that he did not get discharged due to his injures, but he was tougher than Rambo.

The stories of this man are completely nuts. And it didn't stop at the end of World War I by any means. Here's a few things he did that I learned through a military history podcast. In 1920 he stood as second at a duel (yes - a duel in 1920 not 1720) where the second of the other party in the duel was Gustaf Mannerheim (Finnish commander-in-chief during the winter war and continuation war against the Soviet Union). In the years between the major wars, he spent a lot of time at a Castle in Poland that he had somehow come to live in through his diplomatic contacts over the years and one of his favorite activities was something called "Pig sticking". What does this strange activity entail you might ask? Why, only riding down wild boar and skewering them with spears. The man is short an eye and an arm at this point in his life mind you. And on top of that any other ailments he was probably still suffering from due to his injuries in the Great War can't have helped him in this particular hobby. During World War II he survived a plane crash into the sea near Italy. One-armed he somehow swam ashore after which he was captured and imprisoned by the Italians at a castle. Once there he escaped 8 times (he's 61 at this point for the record), at one point keeping himself hidden for 10 days by disguising himself as an Italian farmer. The man is a British aristocrat missing an arm, an eye and didn't speak a word of Italian and somehow they still didn't immediately find him. Because of course they didn't 😄
in the music video it picks up after he had already fought in the Boar War and was wounded (stomach and groin) he was home then WW1 started he started in Somaliland Camel Corps in 1914 fighting "the mad mulha "during a attack on a stronge hold he was shot in the face 2 times loosing an eye 1 in the arm,and part of his ear. then was able to get to fight on the wastern front in the big show were the music video picked up, also the tompson submachine gun never saw action in WW1 and i don't think he ever used 1 in combat even in post war or WW2. but they couldn't show everything he did. this guy needs a movie but then know one would belive everything he did.9:26 mark While i was in the army i was injured during training as OP4 (night on a breaching team attacking on a mt side) but was taken off base to the local ER and all the hot nurses had to come lossen my boot laces LOL and i only had 1 eye to see them all
