Nightwish fans Sabaton Reaction -Christmas Truce

- So we did a reaction to A Christmas Truce by Sabaton but it was the acoustic version and not the official video. We had a lot of our YT friends urging us to watch the official video and respond.
You can tell we were both a little shaken. The song is amazing, and the truth behind it was sad and touching. If you don't know about this event from WWI, you owe to yourself to research it.
This was suggested by our Nightwish family, so please keep the suggestions coming and we will get to as many as we can.
If you have follow us much you'll know we love all of this style and even more. Expect other bands as well as always coming home to Nightwish.

With Sabaton you can miss something in the end and not just this video. No bullets fly is also emotional but be shure to take the animeted STORY video for that one

Almost all the songs by Sabaton have a background that they have on their history channel which you should also watch when you make the songs so you can now also watch that clip
even if you recognize parts of the story behind it, you can always learn things there and many of the stories are not very well known as "night hexes" or "no bullets fly" (both of them there is an animated STORY that briefly goes into the background but worth also checking out their history channel)

no matter how well you know the story, I do not think you know several of the background to songs they have and it makes people appreciate the music more and they have music from the countries most countries where they toured and they now have two full albums about the first the world war but also about other and many other wars.
But I also want to recommend Amaranthe and Arch Enemy who are two Swedish bands and can Floor have interviewed both girls and it was 10 years ago now that the two girls save a performance for Nightwish in Denver (before Floor became part of the band but joined the band before the show after)
And Amaranthe has performed with Sabaton and has both played at their show but also done a cover of 82nd all the way (good song that is about how the measure of them arose) also worth checking out the story there
and finally I want to recommend a Ukrainian group called "Jinjer" and 3 of the band's 4 members are stuck in Kyiv last I saw something which was shortly after this invasion but the war started in 2014 and then they had to flee their home in the east part of ukrina and they have a song about it called "Home Back" and they toured with Arch Enemy a few years ago and there were slightly different opinions about who was the most beautiful singer in metal

Edit- check out the lyrics to Home Back as it is easier to follow as she has a voice that can be a little difficult to hear the text if you are not used to it and do not know, so worth reading it before you listen

groups like sabaton and Nightwish, you should always ALWAYS listen until the very last moment. a part of Floor Jansen's beautiful voice is lost here, which is a pity.🤟🏻🤟🏻🎶🎶

All the band members played roles in the video: vocalist Joakim Broden was playing the piano, guitarist Chris Rorland was the officer looking at the picture, guitarist Tommy Johansson threw the grenade, bassist Par Sundstrom was writing in the journal and drummer Hannes Van Dahl was seen moving through the trench and crossed into no man's land first.

My Great, great Uncle John was there fighting for the UK. He died before I was born but my Dad said he always spoke about that one day and the first time he ever heard 'Silent Night' but never, ever mentioned anything else.

It was the germans who started to sing Stille nach ( Holy night) and soon the brits and french sang too and one german climbed upp and started to walk over no man land and soon the met the germans brought beer ghe brits whisky and the french wine, and someone started to kick a ball och so in began, humanity in hell, the next day whole companys refused to fire on each other and was transferred to other front lines. pure magic
You needed to listen to the end ... why don't you try doing that one over! Not only does Floor sing the closing credits, but this was an amazing production and included lots of people/crew ...
The thing is, you guys seem so nice and genuine that people like me enjoy seeing you enjoy this stuff - really reaction channels are all about empathy, not about being slick and 'professional' - so you cut the ending, oh well, we'll get over it 😉

The song and video are fantastic and Floor put the cherry of emotions on top as only she can do
I love this video, Floor's hubby and Sabaton drummer Hannes van Dahl was the first to come out of the trenches with his hands up. You should listen to the outro it was Floor adding her beautiful voice as the credits run, you can even see her credited in ending vocals.

@@SueSueandthewolfman This is not just a Christmas song. It can and will be played year round, as it should be. The horrors of wars started by politicians, but fought by soldiers who had no say in the matter is evident this very day. The guitar solo sounds like waling and torment, and Floors outro solo has such a calming effect. Epica/Sabaton US tour this year will be spectacular. Can't wait to be singing in the crowd to the acapella chorus of Christmas Truce!

The blond guy that gets hit by the grenade at the beginning is Hannes Van Dahl, Floor Jansen's husband.
All of Sabaton music videos are extremely well done and help to bring out the emotions of the songs. Check out 'Bismark' by Sabaton. Great reactions guys. Also, you guys may enjoy the song 'Sancta Terra' by the Dutch group 'Epica' ft. Floor Jansen.

And you missed one of the most moving parts of the video. A truly beautiful vocal by Floor Jansen - the singer of Nightwish and wife of Hannes the blond soldier who was first over the top. Can't believe you couldn't see how much was left on the timeliness the video. Tip - NEVER cut off a Sabaton video before the very end !

Definitely emotional 1914 first Christmas of the war you had the British,French,Belgium on one side of the trench and germans on the other the British and French agreed to ceasefire on Christmas day Belgium not so much when the germs got out the trenches Belgium soldiers killed them even carried on shelling the German line throughout Christmas day my great grandfather was at the battle of the somme Manchester regiment that unit in partially suffered massive losses first day of the somme after shelling the germans for 5 days and nights they made an advance its said that the British lost over 20,000 just on the first day of course never met my great grandfather but I've got 2 pictures of him one with his regiment and the other by himself

It’s Ayreon , The Day The the World Breaks Down, sorry for any confusion. Check out Sabaton, Bismarck official video. Sabaton is not political but sings of the sacrifices, heroics of mostly military battles throughout history. Sabaton has a History channel on UTube, titled Sabaton History ( easy to remember) they explain the history behind a lot of their songs. Suggestions, No Bullets Fly , or Night Witches both the official animated STORY version. It’s a combination of the Saboton History and music videos. Do play to the end especially No Bullets Fly. You both are youngins compared to me a very old Metal rock head. Been a fan of Nightwish for over 20 years and a fan of Sabaton for at least 10. Obsessed with both, as neither of these bands have, in my humble opinion no bad songs or sets. Don’t beat yourself up about not hearing Floors aura at the end as it is not on the album. Which again in my humble opinion is Sabaton one and only mistake. Good luck on your journey, give both dogs a extra pat for me! Stay Safe Rock On!🙏🐶

Hey Old Folks, I would like to make a request? That last video was of the christmas eve spontanous truce of WW1.
I always wonder why reactors don't view official band videos to the end. Bands put a lot of money in producing their videos; it would be cheaper for them to shortnen it. Tip: Always view videos to the end, there is mostly real content to react to!

I think that this song is their masterpiece! So carefully made! Another great song by Sabaton is "No Bullets Fly". It shows that there can be moments during a war that are honourable. On their History Channel they explain what it is all about. Sad though that nothing is learned from the past.
Ohh that was not very polite - you just cut out Floor's amazing outtro - added to give this video the final touch.
But anyway - it is a very strong song Sabaton created - and unfortunately probably will never be outdated. An incident like this will never occur again, because it was decided a few days after the incident, and has been kept ever since.

Glad you reacted to the official video. So much more majestic and epic. Unfortunately you stopped too early and missed the soaring vocals of Floor and the music of Antti Martikainen in the outro. It just adds a whole new layer of beauty and emotion to this song. Please go back and listen all the way to the end for yourself so you can appreciate not only all of the music but how many people contributed to this production. Especially for groups like Nightwish and Sabaton you should watch all the way to the end or you may miss something (especially Nightwish's Greatest Show on Earth).
