Poland, and specially Warszawa, has a whole history of their own. I was there a few years ago and I cannot even begin to understand all the sacrifice they have done through the years, decades and centuries. The WWII especially. "women, men and children were fighting side by side" always get me, because that is how it was.
Now Poland takes a HUGE responsibility to Ukraine refugees. Got nothing but respect for Poland and Warszawa in special.
Edit: That the west and specially Russia let Germany have their way before interrupting is a timeless shame for everyone. Take one of the walking tours if you'll visit - just a tip. 😊

Thanks to the policy of Swedish king who was afraid of retaliation and ordered to eliminate every single Pole, 40% of population was killed including 90% of Warsavians (20 000 before and 2 000 after the Swedish campaign). You've got to understand something Sabatons song about Poland hold a special place in our hearts for us Poles, nobody talks about our history outside of Poland despite the wealth of history that there is, our has been derided and dragged through the mud so much so that what most people only know is that we got invaded in 1939 which kicked off WWII and that's it.
The fact that we've had people like Chopin (famous composer), Copernicus (the driving force behind the heliocentric model for the solar system), Kościuszko (the founder/builder of West Point, Revolutionary War vet and personal friend to Washington and Jefferson), Pulaski (the father of the American cavalry and fellow Revolutionary War vet), Kwolek (inventor of kevlar), Skłodowska-Curie (discoverer of radium and polonium), Zamenhof (creator of the language Esperanto), Łukasiewicz (inventor of oil well, oil refinery, kerosene lamp, and modern streetlight), Koprowski (inventor of the first live polio vaccine), Sabin (inventor of the oral polio vaccine), Tramiel (founder/inventor of Commodore computers), Malinkiewicz (inventor of printed solar cells) just to name a few among our ranks.
Or the we had the first semi democratic monarchy in Europe with elected kings, the first constitution in Europe, saved Vienna and by extension western Europe from further Ottoman conquest, saved Europe again in 1919-21 from the soviets and further spread of communism for a extra 20 years, a single Polish destroyer saving a British town from a German bombing raid, another Polish destroyer duking it out with the Bismark causing them to expend a majority of their ammo before it was finally sunk, heavily contributing to Royal Air Forces ability to repel the Germans during the Battle of Britain, heavily contributing to breaking the German Enigma code etc. you get the point.
So Sabatons songs like Uprising, 40:1, Winged Hussars and Inmate 4859 help facilitate spreading knowledge of Poland's history to the greater world who know nothing of it and that is why Sabaton is so beloved in Poland and why you see reactions like that from the crowd anytime they play there.

Hey :) If you like this Sabaton song :) you must react another Sabaton song :) which also tells the history of Poland during the Second World War....This song is called "Sabaton - 40:1"... the story that is told in this song.... many times is called "Polish Thermopylae"....but is one difference between "Polish Thermopylae" and original Battle of Thermopylae....Original is myth with true story....This what happend in Poland is not a myth....is real True

This song is probably the best one from Sabaton if you want to understand the Polish virtues of Liberty, freedom, and resistance. If you want to understand one of the unofficial mottos: Za wolność naszą i waszą (For our freedom and yours), listen to Aces in Exile or Winged Hussars.

Warszawo Walcz is cool because Warsaw is in the Vocative case, which kind of gives the city a human, a personal quality. Think as he’s speaking to the very soul of the city itself.

A major element of this song is the abandonment of the British and Allied forces felt by the polish, the 1944 uprising, was a last desperate attempt to get help from the western Allies as they new their current “liberators” would be the soviets, who helped the Germans invade Poland to begin with.

The people of Poland have the uncanny ability to be completely outnumbered and still almost win the battle. Siege of Vienna, the invasion of Poland in 1939 where they were outnumbered at least 40:1 and only lost when they ran out of ammo and then in warsaw uprising where they only lost due to soviets stopped advancing. Not to mention those polish that were able to escape to uk and continued to fight, knowing the only way to free Poland was with uk and usa help. Sabaton also has songs about Vienna and defense against Germany. Winged hussars and 40:1
