I have same truck with a 14l, The previous owner put a Sx400 from a Cat that turbo is actually to long in spec but they shoved in there and the air cleaner tube is directly against the back of the alternator, and now the oil seal is turbo has failed and I need to replace it. And I don't want to go with the stock turbo from 14L because they have that aggravating whistle that would drive me nuts, thinking of using a turbo off a 12.7, just wondering what turbo you went with..
Thank you for doing this. Looking at the park, it looks fairly straightforward. How can any mechanic charge $2000 for that job?
Did your truck come with out the egr turbo or was it deleted?
This truck had dd15 in it and my Friend had it changed to a 14L Detroit series 60 so no egr.
Did you pre fill Turbo with oil?

So it is not necessary to pre lube the brand new turbo?
