The Dave Song has been in my head for ten long years Now that I've heard it again, it'll be there ten more years These are the Daves I know, I know These are the Daves I know
@@AnthonyHernandez-je1tx I was there and then too, but I can't tell you single thing about where other men wore their waistline on their hips. The ladies however, I could draw detailed pictures of each one.
In the 90s, my single female friends and I met so many Dave's in the bars, we called them "the Dave's of our lives". To distinguish them apart we used an identifying label such as "Dave get a haircut", "Dave get a job", "Dave get a new shirt" Kids in the hall, thank you for the memories.
I could have sworn that when I first saw this in the 90s, there was a part when Dave Foley popped up and said, "What about me?" and Bruce was all, "Who are you?" or "Get out of here," or something! Damn you, Mandela!
My cousin(Dave) and I used to sing this and walk the same way down the street on summer days after a few beer. Rest in peace, Dave. We had some good times watching KITH many years ago.
I used to serve McCulloch brunch at a restaurant in Toronto on weekends. He always ordered pancakes. He was very polite and kind and a pleasure to serve. At the same place I once served Bruce Cockburn, who ordered a vegetarian curry soup, sweet potato, I think. He was also very kind, but very quiet, almost shy.
I can one up you on my relationship to this song :) I'm sure I heard this song back in the 90s but completely forgot about it. Then I heard it on CBC Radio in about 2004-5 and thought it was a regular pop song called "These are the days I know". Then someone corrected me on it and I thought that was funny. Then I forgot about the song *again* until a year ago, when a guy named Dave at my yoga studio started singing it in the locker room because of the number of Daves that go there. My father's name is Dave, so I messaged this video to him and the rest of my family. They thought it was hilarious. And this time, the song is truly stuck in my head until I die. Well done, Kids in the Hall.
I'm 44, Canadian. Loved Kids in the Hall but grew up in a super religious town in Central Alberta so the show was not popular there. I've been seeing this song since! Just randomly the song will pop into my head. For some reason, lately it's been coming into my head often and my 12 yr old son started singing it, not knowing where it came from. So a few weeks ago I showed him this video and now we both will just starting singing it randomly. It warms my heart when my son just starts singing it ❤🇨🇦
Ugh…what town is so up its own arse it could actually coerce people not to watch a TV show? Give us a place name so we can avoid it on our summer travels.
@@entropybentwhistleI live in middle Tennessee and most of the smaller towns are like that. Our city has a giant fucking cross next to the interstate, it's probably 50 feet high. @@bobbyhenry3150 Let's just hope he's put some weight on in the intervening decades. If his age in years exceeds his weight in pounds, that can't be healthy.
This skit was so catchy that I haven't heard it in probably 25 years and it just popped in my head out of nowhere. Had to look it up on RUclips wasn't disappointed!

I saw a music video at the gym one time and the singer looked and sounded like Bruce. It had lyrics along the lines of "really pleased to meet you - tell me what to do, tell me what to say". It was a really good song actually. I have looked for it and searched on those lyrics many times but never found it on yt or anywhere else. If it is Bruce then maybe someone knows.
LOL. There are 5 Daves on my street: Dave and Other Dave live on either side of me.... two doors up is Telephone Dave (he walks around the neighbourhood making financial deals on his phone); the next block up is Tall Dave (well over 6 feet and his wife is about 5 feet tall); and finally Invisible Dave (I only know he is Dave because I saw his wife outside calling to him inside).
I met Dave Foley when I lived in LA. I forgot which lot I was in but the tables in the cafeteria were so busy that we had to have lunch with, well, whoever else was at the table. Hey, I did that too!
