This'll never compete with the original. Could be a cure for insomnia, though!
On a technical note. When trying to simulate a 1949 vibe, don't use a lens zoom. That shot of the gang strolling down the road toward the camera with the slow zoom out was decidedly anachronistic. Zooms came into use in the '60s.

It was in a Much Music special in Canada called 50 years in Show Business,kind of a comedy special that put him in older stuff and showed clips of others, and ended with him performing songs from Shame Based Man.
