As a teacher, I can say that he’s disturbingly too close to teachers I’ve known-- but, fortunately, there haven’t been too many. Anyway, the general thing about a teacher tying to be cool and making presumptions, and making everyone cringe, is spot-on. A real post- 60s thing, though. And it continues
I unironically had a hip teacher that was going through a divorce that banged a HS student and was addicted to crack. Made me really appreciate the authoritarian, boundary conscious teachers that held us responsible for stupid decisions.
I concur! I've been looking for one where scott is playing some sort of Slavic character driving a car with a baby in the back seat. I can't find it and only have a feint memory of it... and of pissing myself laughing. Ring any bells?
I thought it was Fairhaven College, Western WA Uni's freeversin' younger sibling. Always wondered what was going on over there, whilst on my way to classes at the main campus.
Bruce cracks me up in this one: when he mouths "I love this song" after Theo sings "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and when he goes to get under the desk & says, "Well, if it's about my marks..." Hilarious!! Great sketch!
In 1967, I had a "groovy teacher." Art class, High School...among other things, she let us bring records to class but the only one that ever got played was the Doors first album...over and over. That was in the days when school record players had half pound tonearms with roofing nail needles. I don't know if she ever hit on anyone, though.
This whole look was one of his cutest on the whole show. He looks beyond adorable in the pleated skirt and the floral jacket with the pattsun bob hair.
"for today's world" oh boy, buddy have I got news for ya, teachers have been fucking their students since Plato's day. I'm not saying it's cool, but it is a tradition. But not a proud one.
Proof that even teenagers draw lines on certain behaviors. Everyone thinks Pot is cool. Not one single human being, who isn't addicted to drugs, thinks that Heroin is awesome...
@@shindari Well, pot is like booze, you can enjoy it with moderation and it doesn't have to careen away, but heroin sets its claws in you right away and completely fucks up your life, and that's common knowledge.
I'm stoked that you're bringing back kid's in the hall. Love this show when I was a young buck...and weirdly enough I was an all state linebacker, you know, total jock. Didn't go out on weekend until I finished my sets. I think these cats helped me to not blindly hate alternative lifestyle men, like I was "supposed" to. I'm being 100% honest here. Thank you for uploading these( I just subscribed) and thank you KITH for being so damn funny and helping me realize that sexual orientation doesn't define a person. Yes I am still straight, in case you're wondering....
This is so cool that it simply was funny sketches and they weren't cutting edge except for the more refined Python style and the themes they completely embraced. Dope you got exposed and all it took was you having your mind expanded.
He's still better than the crazy substitute teacher I had when I was 12 He believed the radiators on one side of the wall were actually radioactive and forced us all to move all the desks to the opposite wall. It was early august, they weren't even on. He also wore mittens and two woollen scarf indoors...
This is the first time I've seen this version of the skit. The one I remember was completely censored; They replaced 'bullshit' with 'crap', and Dave Foley wasen't seen rolling up his sleeve and asking for a lighter. I think that Scott was also wearing a completely sleevless shirt in the censored skit.
CBC had "bullcrap." There are lots of differences between HBO and CBC content. The blues guy is from Vermont on HBO and "The Ottawa-Carleton region" on CBC. Touch Belllini contest winner is from Tampa (I think) Florida on HBO but from...Ottawa again on CBC.
@@JohnManzo does that mean that the same sketch was filmed in different ways? I'm Scottish, but I remember watching this late at night in the 90's and not understanding half of it cos I was too young lol
I actually clicked on this video because I mistook the thumbnail to be that infamous sketch where David Tennant plays Catherine Tate's English teacher, haha!
I don't know if I'm the only one that noticed, but there's always that one teacher that had no boundaries. I remember that one teacher that was always too friendly, much like Theo here, lol. Of course, this was back in the 90's, I don't think that a teacher like that would be employed by the school for long.
The real star of this clip is the nonspreaking actor, the redhead in the seat closest to the door. Wish I had been there live - love this show grew up watching it come over the border on the CBC
"Theodore Barons"
His name is Teddy Bear. They had that joke set up and just had it sit there, unused.
Brilliant.
Let’s all appreciate Dave’s impression of Lou Reed doing The Police.
Haha spot on!
Better than Lou Reed singing Metallica.
Try machine music, by Lou.. tell me if you make it all the way through it, liar.
Lol. That is a perfect observation.
Apparently they can say “bullshit” on tv in Canada?

I never had a teacher like that. Your recollections of reality might be altered. Maybe you've been doing to much heroin.
I think Theo has the greatest way of saying he cheated on his wife "we had an open relationship, and I couldn't find the way to tell her that"
"When she found out about our understanding, quite by accident one night ..." lol
I unironically had a hip teacher that was going through a divorce that banged a HS student and was addicted to crack. Made me really appreciate the authoritarian, boundary conscious teachers that held us responsible for stupid decisions.
Omg! I just let out the ugliest laugh lol. It's just too perfect for this skit 🤣. No, but, that teacher is a dangerous predator.
Did he also call you gay?
.................Sorry I just had to do it.
my high school had one of those too lmao
Cool story bro. Didn't happen, but cool story.
100 percent still married to day dude.
I always loved when Scott played the macho guy in sketches.
Someone has a crush!😘

it's Bauer haha
Literally any of those being macho is f'ing comedy

I was too young to appreciate how funny this show was back in the early 90's. Good stuff.
Ms. B Karaoke B agreed, I got some of the skits but not all,
Same
Nowadays, this show would be banned right off the internet, because the "internet puritans" would be horrified by how "liberal" the humor is.
It aired when I was a teenager. It was my favorite show ever. The 90s rocked!
80's actually
groundbreaking
Boy, this documentary on Evergreen College is really good.
Nah, Evergreen State College is if anything weirder
I thought it was Fairhaven College, Western WA Uni's freeversin' younger sibling. Always wondered what was going on over there, whilst on my way to classes at the main campus.
Really? I thought it was UC-Santa Cruz.
Watching the new season in 2022 I was reminded of this sketch at points where KITH are not just funny but pretty dark too.
Scott delivering the line, "sit down f@g," is meta comedy, and realization that anything can be hilarious.

Dave's timing on that part is SUPERB.
The essence of every hip teacher
Had a teacher in high school that had couches instead of desks. He was "that teacher"
this show was true art
But can we talk about Bruce's legs in the skirt under the desk? Damn!
This whole look was one of his cutest on the whole show. He looks beyond adorable in the pleated skirt and the floral jacket with the pattsun bob hair.
🤣🤣🤣
I was a teacher for 42 years. I love this sketch.
I was a student for 13 years and I love it too!

90s humor! So amazing!!
You me pre Cancel culture shitstorm. Yeah we used to tell jokes back then and people would laugh at them.

No one does awkward comedy better then Kid in the Hall
Every Kid in this sketch is absolutely perfect. 😁
. . .sorry I didn't mean to cop to the authority thing . . . .
These guys must have had a time machine.
I would always lose it when McKinney would start having his silent tantrum in the back! "Anyone?"
UncleAnaesthesia He did great at that.
I've thought about this skit about once a month for 25 years, lmao
Really? I love comedy, but not the same thing monthly for 25 years,
lol since 1996? Damn, even before I was born
"...when she found out about our little understanding one night..." LOL

It's ageless, there were bullshit teachers like this back in the 1960s too.

Class: Alright!
Teacher: I smoke a little pot
Class: Sweet!

when kids in the hall have actual women in their skit. a rare thing lol

That's Bruce McCulloch. He's a dude.
