I'm not saying what she did was right, but in her own mind it probably just made sense to apologize and move on almost like it was just a formality to get rid of the accusation. These types of people you'll never get a genuine apology from since they'll always phrase it as, "I'm sorry your feelings got hurt" with no actual remorse for their actions.
