Yang as the future daughter in law loves OP's family as if they are her own (at least that's the idea), and would do anything within her power to make sure OP has a good relationship with them, even if it means making herself suffer.
Op put Yang first and knew what his family and Jess were doing was wrong and inexcusable. This is the reality for some interracial couples and families. Some families turn a leaf and some don't. I cannot believe they thought their reason was enough for OP to leave her?! Not only did you break the trust between the couple; they are not gonna have their kids, (grandkids) near them.

It's relatively common for people in long term relationships especially early/first ones that they essentially get bored in the relationship but find out very quickly that random guys/girls aren't going to treat them like their partner did so they get depressed that the random people aren't doing anything for them both physically and emotionally.

@@426mak my dad has visited korea twice once while in the army and stayed there for a while and got married so yes my biological aunts know him and again when we as a family went to visit when I was a child about half my cousins were born by then and they saw him but most weren't old enough to talk to him so he was just the white dude they saw and only 2 cousins who were much older actually able to talk to him or my sister. My grandpa has said maybe 10 words to my dad and 6 of those words was just saying cigarettes and my grandma didn't learn english and both really only cared that my mom had American kids and not cared to much about my dad since he "doesn't know korean" or my sister because they are old korean people and were quite a bit sexist and traditional. So generally yea I'm the only one that has been around again in my teens and they know my name since it's in the bible and my sister's is a family name they never heard of before so they have some trouble remembering it especially since they haven't talked in a long time.
