Nice job! I gave up on my adaptive headlights. I replaced the front ones twice in one year and yes if there is a failure your headlights go down as to not blind other motorists. What Audi forgot was that you need to see when you drive and you actually can't. Ultimately I pulled the fuse to stop the annoying warming sound and manually raised the headlights. Yes you can still raise the headlights with a screwdriver on an Audi - amazing.
Bro you saved me a massive headache on my audi q5. the arm broke and to remove teh sensor and replace it is a pain. remove an upper control arm bolt... thank you for this Video!
You can buy sealed rod end (just like a tie rod) for around the same price that will last indefinitely. Non sealed will jam up after time if you live in a area where salt is used in the winter. Great video. 👍🏼
Thanks for the comment. Didn't know there was a sealed version. Definitely an upgrade from my suggestion. Haven't had an issue with mine yet. I just checked everytime I rotate my tires or do an oil change
Great idea. I am in the same boat but it's the front driver side ride height sensor rod that has snapped off.. Any experience with that one? I am not sure if the front and the rear are same parts
Another idea I used: buy a cheap knockoff sensor from aliexpress (about € 14), remove the sensor arm and use that. The knockoff sensor itself is probably shit, but the arm is fine to use on the Audi sensor.
Sorry i realized my mistake. It's the ball joint that rotates not the screw lol. So yeah it can be tightened all the way. This is genius and I ordered tonight. Actually it's $13 per piece plus shipping. $35 per side. Not bad. This is how it should have been made. They make it to fail so they make more money.
Just did the same repair on my '14 allroad. Ordered the parts and followed your directions. Thank you for posting this tutorial.
Glad the video helped!!
You're the man, Jonathan! I just finished doing this with parts from the local farm supply store. Thanks for making this video!!
No problem! Glad this was able to help you out

I just ordered the ball joints, I'll make your idea. Thank you very much for the saving.
I'm glad my video was able to help you. Good luck with the repair
Cheers man! Just fixed mine b8 with your idea. 👍🍻
I'm glad my video helped you out 😀
Can you measure the length of the rod? My original rod is broken and missing. Dunno how long should be exactly.🖐
@@rapk1x sorry I don't have the measurements. And I sold my car a few years back. Maybe check the forums?
What a genius idea, I will do that for sure
delorme58 thank you for the kind words 🙏🏽

genuis! yes.. i found the ball socket ends, but which threaded rod? there so many, can you show the exact one you bought?
Thanks man! I'm glad the video helped you out. The threaded rod I used was m6 metric. You should be able to find that at your local home depot.
Thank you!
You're welcome

Its not b8 right?
This is for a b8 a4. Should work for b8.5 as well
Jonathan Lagdameo i have b8 too but that Pipe is not straight like that... Is that something wrong with mine?
The one I replaced was for the driver side rear. Some models have 2. There's one in the front. Mine may vary depending on the model?
Jonathan Lagdameo Mine is driver Side too. 2009 2.0 tfsi 211 hp also.
Jonathan Lagdameo And yes the front tire side
Pinoy? Hehe
Lol yup
