  • Car had major suspension issues. After replacing an air spring, refurbished a air compressor and recoded the abs unit to get the steering angle right, this level sensor in the left rear was the last to take care of. Rather than replacing it, I decided to repair it.

Hi, nice video. After installation , how did you adapt the sensor again? I mean what’s the procedure in Vcds? Thanks.

On this model you have to go into level control -> adaptation. Rosstech website has a write up on it.

Hello, Could there be one of these bad without showing a faulty light for it. My left front side sits a bit lower and is not related to air leak from the suspension?? Regards

Possible but ! See the thing is, the computer will log a fault if sensor value doesnt change when suspension goes up and down.
So if you put car in dynamic, then lift mode, a faulty sensor would pop a implausible signal.
Same if the arm attached to the control arm is broken/disconnected.
Corrosion in the connector does happen and happened on mines twice. easy to check and first thing Id do.
Then Im going in the computer and checking normal operation. If deviations are within margin, I can recalibrate. If they are not, I have my answer why.
Do not mess with calibration unless you are with one of us who really know what we're doing. We know exactly how the computer sees the world and what it needs to give us correct behavior.
Anyhow, for me, that's a simple system. But mechanics can struggle with it. I advise to either choose wisely or get vcds software so one of us can guide you if you can swing a wrench.

Why not pass the wire through the via? But otherwise quite nifty

would have to drill, while there was plenty of room to go around in the corner . So I guess laziness :p

Hey pal, I need some help, I have an Audi A8 04, The air lift is not working after I had someone do the breaks, can I pay you to walk my machanic through FaceTime he’s always available

Can he at least communicate with Computer 34- Level Control? Did you remove the car from Lift mode in your mmi? If he did the brake wrong he might have disconnected the arm of the level sensor or wiring. Scanning for code in 34 would tell you that.
