Since I had a bit of a notion of how fucked up the game is, I picked Dark Priest as my 1st time instead, and I'm having loads of fun role-playing an unethical son of a bitch! 😂
Also, I don't know if necromancy is underrated or not, but it's proving to be super useful as a 1st time player, as well as balancing well how fragile Dark Priest is.

Outlander is the weakest of the characters, all the newbies pick him up because he looks strong but it's a troll really Character intro governs your skills and starting equipment (whoever stole the artefact is a menace...) talk is useful against some enemies, but 90% of the time it's just plain useless, hounds are relentless Terror & starvation changes some things, including the darkness (base difficulty you emit some light) there is much RNG involved in your actions but it can be manipulated to an extent you found passages of Ma'habre really early, wow! It's one of the coolest books in the game You dodged guard's slash 3 times in a row. wow lol, and then proceeded to get r-... you know... Anyways, welcome to Fear & Hunger! It will be an experience, i can teel already (maybe i've forseen?)

@@Dintak3Actually, The Outlander is the strongest... if you know how to use him. For starters, he can eat the corpses of his enemies to refill his hunger meter, and the potential Bow and Arrows you can get in the intro will allow him to pick enemies off without really fighting them. I guess the best way to describe The Outlander is that he's a gimmick character.

@@Dintak3 Just be forewarned, the arrows are very limited, so most just don't bother. However, if you DO bother, then every hit takes off a limb from the enemy if it isn't a kill shot.

If ya start with the Escape Plan from Mercenary it boosts the odds of it working a lot
