Ohtani has a heart ❤ of a Lion, even though he has a torn UCL and can't pitch he is still wanting to hit, Shohei's passion to play baseball is undeniable, other players would just sit out, but Shohei wants to give the fans the greatest Show on earth, anyone questions his love for the game should watch Shohei Ohtani play.

money isn't everything...for a player like this, he's got money, probably already more than he could ever spend with another 9 figures on the way no matter what. Sometimes it's about more than money.

Mike Trout has said that multiple times Shohei is not concerned with money he’s concerned with winning and his legacy. Becoming the best baseball player ever. Personally I think he already is. People in the USA can’t understand that.

Whatever his future, and we hope it will be great despite the need to recover from his current injury, we have to celebrate and be grateful for almost three full years of unparalleled excellence from Ohtani thus far. Longevity is not a big issue for a phenomenon like him. And this year, so far, here's his notable stats:
Leads MLB in HR with 44
Leads AL or all of MLB in RBI, R, BB, OBP, SLG, OPS, XBH and total bases
Tied for MLB lead in 3B
    19 SBs
Leads all MLB pitchers with lowest BA against him
    10-5 record as pitcher
    4th in AL for ERA
    167 SOs as pitcher

The Angels should be ashamed how they ruined Shohei Ohtani.

7:55 speaking of complete games the one 2019 World Series memory that stands out to me is Strasburg starting in the 9th of game 6 with a 7 run lead and they pulled him after one out instead of letting him throw his first career CG in a performance that let his team come back for game 7 in a do or die that they managed to win (because AJ Hinch pulled Greinke too soon).

The Angels should be contracted from MLB right now or Artie Moreno should be completely forced out of the league and forced to sell the team. Being this bad with 2 of the best players ever is like having Patrick Mahomes but going 0-17 every year….it’s borderline impossible.

Costas is right: "Even thoughtful people can make emotional decisions." As for Ohtani, the Angels now have the best chance to sign him. Other teams are scared, given the nature of Ohtani's elbow injury. The Angels will let Ohtani do whatever he wants to do, and Ohtani will like that. The size of the new contract will be reasonable for the Angels. Ohtani doesn't want a long-drawn out contract negotiation period. He will probably be "happy" with the Mike Trout type of deal for the next 8-10 years.

I love ohtani like everyone else he is crazy and maybe even a generational talent but I've been thinking he's more important as a hitter than he is as a pitcher. Granted he throws very well but he's not top 20 in era and assessing someone who will most likely now need a second ucl surgery I think they should convert him to a first basemen next year and see how it goes, that will give him time to heal more and also still allow him to show he's one of the top if not the best hitter in the mlb. Regardless I wish a lucky and swift recovery to the big fella !!!
