    I'm 69 years old and have been a baseball fan from the early 60s. I've seen all of the great players of the last 50-60 years either on tv or in person and I've never seen anything like this guy. Just absolutely amazing to watch what he's doing.

      I think people who were are the game were not mad at all, watching history being made and witnessing greatness live, in person. Imagine 50 years later telling grandkids you saw Ohtani throw a complete game shutout then casually launch two bombs. it's amazing.

      The other day, Atlanta fans booed the Braves at home after they intentionally walked Ohtani. I think every sports fan appreciates how rare a player like this is. If he beat the Yankees 12-0 and drove in all the runs himself I’d still watch the replay over and over.

      ie the 20 yr old Valenzuela had 8 shutouts in his rookie season... Ohtani has 1 .... lol

      Japan's Iwate are forced to hold the ball from the moment they are born. At the age of 1 year, a cast is required. And so Shohei Otani, Rouki Sasaki, and Yusei Kikuchi were born.

    Ohtani is not a "once in a lifetime" player. Ohtani is a "once EVER" player. There has never been anyone like him before and will likely never be again. If he played close to me I would attend every game he pitched just to say "I saw him pitch live!" to my grandkids

    After the late 90's and seeing how many missed opportunities my Braves had, I lost interest in the sport but damn has Sho been bringing the house down.

    Got tickets a while ago and I near lost it when I found out it was gonna be a double header with Ohtani pitching! Even as a Tigers fan this was something special to see live that I am very grateful for.

      Yep, I've played both at a very high level. Hockey requires the skills of a point guard on skates going backward. Yanks have no idea how difficult hockey is to play. I was fortunate to have grown up close to Canada, so we had plenty of places to play.

    Last year: 2.33 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 15 wins, 34 HRs, No MVP. This year: 3.43 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 9 wins, 38 HR's, Now considered the undisputed MVP. He should win it every year he pitches and hits this good. Judge can't pitch relief at the minor league level much less be a #1 SP at this level.

Shohei's great talents in two-way/three-way with his overwhelming hard works, humble attitude, charming personality, handsome outlook, and total devotion in baseball during and off seasons becomes the greatest attraction for people watching MLB in stadiums, in TV broadcasting games, and its highlights!
      By the way, some young stars arose this and previous seasons had rose bad images for MLB because of some of their behaviors during games or treating behaviors or treating rumors (De La Cruz, Tatis Jr, Acuna Jr)!

    And while I remember the two nights of pitching and hitting against the Kansas City Royals, today was a one-day affair. I say again, it happened in one day. No runs, one complete game, one win, and two HRs ... he's an Anaheim treasure!

    True baseball enthusiasts realize this has NOT been done since Babe Ruth. This is sooo rare, it hasn't been done since 1919 and 1920. Over a 100 years since a pitcher has accomplished these feats. Huge fan of this kid. It's UNBELIEVABLE, I thought I would NEVER witness these feats.
