Great video you are huge inspiration and you are super inspiring with people seeing you do taekwondo continue to have that competitive fire and desire to be great I know that you will get there what are your goals Alex and how long do you want to keep on grinding and doing taekwondo for?🥋
Good training session. It is good to see that you are working on your endurance and kicking before competing in a tournament. Many times a lot of players don't realize what it is they need to work on until after they have tested or competed. Keep up the good work.
You were great. I like how you showed what it's like to spar someone taller than you. You had great strategies for closing the gaps and scoring points. If you have any tips on that, I'd love to hear them.
Awesome video and tips. I got some great tips out of it. What do you do to train your anaerobic capacity besides TKD and MMA? I'm in the same boat where I just competed this past weekend and got breathless fast during sparring which shows me that I need to up my game on anaerobic training. I haven't been in the school training though all summer pretty much cause we've been busy- so that's a huge factor too. Thanks for all you do. I talk about you often =D
Thank you! That means a lot! The last time I competed I did 1-2 mile jogs 5 times a week as well as about 15-20mins of short sprints(15-20 secs each sprint) 3-4 times a week and doing that 2 months before my tournament helped my endurance so much! Also sprinting up stairs when available works great too!
ahha my very first match (in class) they paired me up with Master Brunz... That man (twice my age) wore me out like it was easy. That was a wake up call for sure. I am only a white belt yellow stripe at the moment. I started rucking to up my endurance and its helped a ton. anyway they told my that you never lose, you win or you learn. so i made a shirt to remind myself... I wold LOVE to see a video on counter attacks www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZZQ80V
Great video Alex looking forward to more!! Remember haters are gonna hate!!! I enjoy your channel. This is the first sparring video you posted training with that guy, you'll be back up to speed before you know it! Keep putting the work in!!!
Thank you so much! I'm gonna try to train with him more often, I think it helps adding that in with my regular training. Doing my best to get back into shape again! :)
+Alex Wong trust me I know what you mean about needing to get back in fight shape. I was competing in local MMA in central TX area 5yrs ago, that competitive itch never goes away!!! Keep doing your thing!! Osss!!
Thanks! And that's awesome! So glad the combos worked for you! :)

nice videos, one very very basic mistake you should correct asap is that you do an instep before kicking...A non-starter will see your kicks coming from a mile. Keep up the good work.
well im not the only one with the same issue with the left and right leg spin hook. haha, i can see that you're more dominant with your left leg for spin kicks than your right leg.
Hi Alex, why no more videos about your competitions? Kudos for your videos, I'm a TKD ITF but hunger to learn from other people to increase legs workout :-)
+Alex Wong when you're sluggish and tired that's when you perform really well because you're relaxed you did well keep up the training you should add a little bit Brazilian jiu jitsu subscribe for life.
Lots of practice, I'm still working on my left leg spinning hook kick and the main thing is just keep drilling it and if its sloppy then try and figure out what I need to fix to make it sharper. More you throw with good technique the better you will get :)
U look amazingly fine but u need more speed and to control breathing through the fighting process to know witch moved to counter the enemy attacks as fast as possible Well done
Good training session. Footwork was okay I thought but you were hiking up your pants .... which of course we both know is telegraphing . I'm guilty of it too....
I'm actually commuting from Lincoln Nebraska to Omaha Nebraska at least now twice a week for some actual sparring workouts. Cause like I've said at the ITF school here in Lincoln. There is BARELY any fundamental training. Like te class is one hour and they run 2 rings and if yoyr not sparring.... you're just "WAITING" off to the side. Then I'll hear the instructors say here's what you need to work on....I'm like well....WHY DONT WE? It's called paddles, you have kicking bags.... yes you all have terrible footwork!!! Ugh! K I'm done
@@AlexWongTKD great job on your training there Alex how long do you train on your taekwondo training for and what is your favorite kick in taekwondo?😁🥋
Stop resetting your stance, you'll easily get knocked out... Allow the body to flow. This is why TKD is so limited.. Poor handwork & zero defensive skills
WTF TWD is more of a sport than a martial art... ITF TWD (my kind of TWD) has pretty good hand techniques and self-defense :) TWD is actually a deadly martial art that was used to train Korean soldiers... If used well, it can be very effective in a fight!
Great video you are huge inspiration and you are super inspiring with people seeing you do taekwondo continue to have that competitive fire and desire to be great I know that you will get there what are your goals Alex and how long do you want to keep on grinding and doing taekwondo for?🥋

Thank you! I definitely want to make sure my cardio and kicks are top notch before trying to compete again!
Go for it. As I die hard Cal fan we say "roll on you bears." Best of luck.
Hey Alex, very nice sparring and training. it inspired me to new teach classes. thanks a bunch!
Thank you! That's awesome! :)
love the old school chest guards hanging up!
this helps a lot because I am a 1st degree black belt and I spare with someone who is a foot taller than me keep up the good work
Awesome! And will do! Thanks for watching :)
That's amazing girl gamer when did you first started doing martial arts and how old were you?🥋😁
You were great. I like how you showed what it's like to spar someone taller than you. You had great strategies for closing the gaps and scoring points. If you have any tips on that, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks! I'll try to film a "How to fight someone taller" video with him soon :)
Adia Jacobs one time I tried sparring a black belt in my club as I was matched up against him but I was injured in the back since I am a yellow belt
Liked before watching.

Great video Alex. So much determination, girl! Doing all this train pretty much by yourself, shows great spirit. Inspiring!
Thanks Laura! Doing my best to keep it up :)
Still watching these while practicing so I feel like someone else is practicing with me. Not sad.
Im a yellow belter and a girl.
im afraid sparring because i hate being hurt by someone. Now im inspired by you! Thanks!

Thanks! And that's awesome! So glad the combos worked for you! :)
nice videos, one very very basic mistake you should correct asap is that you do an instep before kicking...A non-starter will see your kicks coming from a mile. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the tip! I did notice that, and have been working to fix that bad habit :)
awesome workout
Thanks! :)
Kathleen Maguire hi mom 😊
VERY GOOD TRAINING!
well im not the only one with the same issue with the left and right leg spin hook. haha, i can see that you're more dominant with your left leg for spin kicks than your right leg.
haha yes, I've neglected my left leg hook kick. But now that I've got my right leg sharp again I'm gonna put more focus on my left leg now
Hi Alex, why no more videos about your competitions? Kudos for your videos, I'm a TKD ITF but hunger to learn from other people to increase legs workout :-)
I haven't competed since 2013, but currently trying to get back into fighting shape to compete next year :) Thank you for watching!
Great!
People forget that the end result comes AFTER the training
Nice videos and training Alex
Thanks! :)
+Alex Wong when you're sluggish and tired that's when you perform really well because you're relaxed you did well keep up the training you should add a little bit Brazilian jiu jitsu subscribe for life.
Thank you! After my tournament prep I will probably start adding little more jujitsu back into training!

Do you go on tournements ?
i got some tips to this video i will used it to our sparring later
could u please tell me how to make your left leg as strong as ur right? Love your video by the way... 😊😊😆
For every kick you perform with your right, do the same kick 2-3 times with your left. You'll slowly gain more control and then power over time.
Lots of practice, I'm still working on my left leg spinning hook kick and the main thing is just keep drilling it and if its sloppy then try and figure out what I need to fix to make it sharper. More you throw with good technique the better you will get :)

Good training session. Footwork was okay I thought but you were hiking up your pants .... which of course we both know is telegraphing . I'm guilty of it too....

Lol so what. I don't talk much either when having my training
Stop resetting your stance, you'll easily get knocked out... Allow the body to flow. This is why TKD is so limited.. Poor handwork & zero defensive skills
instead of being an ONLINE expert why not post your own video & stop being jealous of Alex???
