My grandmaster in Taekwondo was one of the original students of the Chung Do Kwan in 1958. Being that way we learn a very traditional style and it is more about the art rather than competition. Just watching this video I could tell all of the differences between the two styles. We would be yelled at for keeping our hands down like that.
My grandmaster in taekwondo is Sang Min Cho he was one of the original students of the General choi (the taekwondo founder) and I don't see any big difference.
Juan, I'm so glad to see so many motivated kids. They seem genuinely engaged and are eager to learn. I wish more TKD throughout the USA had this much energy!!!!!! My Grandmaster is getting old and tired of being a "babysitter" so he has me (I'm first Dan and 55 years old) to do this. Any tips on how to keep the young kids motivated in sparring? Thanks, Rocco TKD USA of New Jersey
nice video and good training... ony thing is that those hybrid kicks shown during sparring should be banned from Olympic TKD. electronic hogu really ruined the game..just my opinion.
2:50 you should of really done a side step as you are gaining distance and if you're trying to dodge someone foot that makes you very vulnerable to a double kick
Saludos, le recomendamos 15 minutos de trote suave y 15 minutos de estiramiento de las partes adolorida suave, al día siguiente estarás mucho mejor. Si debes seguir el entrenamiento, pero bien dosificado por un especialista. Suerte
Super Nova these kicks (and the sport version of tkd) is what makes taekwondo get labelled and as an unpractical and useless martial art if used in a street fight.
@@goddoopi3351 yea ofc, i practice taekwondo too, im used to throw strong kicks, but nowadays the breastplate blocks any strong kicks so i understand why people prefer faster and powerless kicks
The old style of Taekwondo was better because they use both hands and feet today's Taekwondo fighter look at where they hold their hands if they held their hands like that in a real street fight they would get knocked out. Seventies Taekwondo training was a lot better.
@@jeremywhitfield4556 yeah you would, but would also be able to get swept were it a real fight. And you most likely don't know how to fight on the ground
I love doing the fancy kicks, such as crescents, hook kicks spin kicks, and jump kicks. But your guard (the way you hold up your hands) is not the greatest as it makes the person's face susceptible to Quick jabs and makes your chest susceptible to hooks (both hook kicks and hook punches). The only thing that your guard protects is the ribs and a strike to solar plexes is much more effective (this is the area which is not guarded in any way). For the record I don't believe that a boxing guard is the best either (this is when both hands are guarding the face). In the end if you are training for fights which allow hands I would not recommend using this guard. For my credibility: I have trained in kajukenpo (this is a strand of kajukenbo which originated in haiwai and was made for street fighting and self defense) for 8 years and i'm testing for my black belt in 3 months, finally I also have been going to tournaments for the past 3 years and have been winning 1st place 65% of the time and the rest I have placed top 3.
I practice a different style of Taekwondo (itf) and during the afternoon classes there is like 3 or 6 people of ages 25 to 40 all white and yellow belts and they are really good at kicking and sparring some of them even go to tournaments and win 1st or 2 place.
+Jordanperalta Peralta.......Thank you............ I will try to training as soon as possible ............ i wanted to get an idea of the extent to which had him out :-)
Esteban Aliste i think in the usa they dont really follow protocole. they're not too strict about it. some people like it that way. but i like tradition myself. none of the teachers ive had in any martial art i trained in would allow us to train with random clothes.

I would beg to differ

Muay Thai is the best warm up and workout that you could ever have.

Good video. But I truly miss the explosive powerful taekwondo from the old days :)
when he was talking i learned the most lol thank u man awsome
At first I got jealous of the warm up routines. Then I saw the sparring drills and I think I like my own, too soft

Hi from South Korea😀😀
It's good to qualify this as specific to SPORT Taekwondo, not any "hosinsul" or Self-defense applications.
