    this was very useful and helpful , my coaches train me all of these counters for these types of opponents and one of the counters (that isn't shown in the video) is when someone puts their leg up, we push our selves in into their leg and we can score a kick to the body , a naeryo chagi , a punch or a dwi huryo chagi.

    My tip to you all in any sparring situation is to always keep a perfect distance. Make sure you aren't too close and not to far. It should be that when they pull that front leg they won't reach you and will be forced to put the leg down. Go in for the punch + clinch + An Chagi (in hook). Or simply counter it with a back roundhouse kick by just swinging it. The roundhouse kick doesn't always work because they can counter with a spinning push kick (dwitchagi) and that's when you are done.

    Thank you for putting out standard TKD-Sport Drill work. It's nice to see more TKD-Sport Drill Work out in this kind of format. I believe once people understand what Drills TKD-Sport uses for skills improvement they will later better understand TKD in total.
    Good Stuff. Keep It Up. Thank You.

    Honestly it's crazy to see the simplicity and that it works against BLACK BELTS! That's so awesome. Sometimes we tend to make sparring and point-fighting extremely complex but it really is just having a few tools and an understanding of the game! Thanks for your content!

    Yo people..these are some tips. Not intended to be the only thing you do or know.. if your going to nationals you may be beyond these "tips". GOOD FOR YOU. however, as you can see many of us can benefit from her tips. Alex thanks for taking time out of your day to help us (your extended TKD family at large).

  • @danielskrivan6921
    @danielskrivan6921 6 лет назад +7

    A lot of these tips seem to be based on the other person standing there and only using one leg. The first tip won't work if they're patient. The second tip won't work if they do a jump kick or double kick with the rear leg as soon as you move to the side. The third kick is a basic follow-through, but the idea that their whole side is open is based on them standing there after the kick.

      Maybe you knew, but you forgot you knew, and now you remember.
      On the other hand, you knew, you know that you know, now you will endeavour to use that the next time you spar.
      Perhaps none of these were true, and you only lost 2.5 mins...

      Contrary to popular belief, there is... You just can't watch the Olympics. Even WTF fighters that often get bashed enjoy sparring with unbelievable speed and power. The Olympians can, but at the Olympics don't, because they aren't sparring to show off or for fun. They are sparring to win, and unfortunately, power wouldn't get them the gold.

      You can jam the kick. Or if it’s a roundhouse you can go in. Refs don’t call kicks with the shin in TKD and the closer you are to the base of the leg the less powerful.

    Do you have any tips for when a opponent keeps their leg up and chambered during sparring?

    • @AlexWongTKD
      @AlexWongTKD  7 лет назад +1

      If they are holding a chambered kick up it's illegal to do it for more than 3 secs according to the new sparring rules.
