You truly are an inspiration You are very knowledgeable and you have excellent form with you're techniques. You explain very well and would make an incredible teacher.
I swear I just love you tutorials especially the ones related to sparring. My techniques and application have improved greatly thanks to you. Don't ever stop your work cause you are helping alot of persons all around the world.
Working on my 2nd degree. Always looking for tips and techniques along the way. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting. Reading some of these comments. Wow, people really can be so hateful and mean. Keep up the good work. Lots of us really appreciate the effort.
Love your videos! I am a Wing Chun guy about to fight TKD students in a sparring tournament. I would like to see a video on the greatest weaknesses for the common techniques in TKD. I am assuming that TKD won't look for punching combos and close combat but I don't know. Thanks for your videos! I've been studying them daily to see what I am getting into in sparring with TKD.
I do WT(WTF) style TKD and for our sparring punching is only allowed to the body and most people will only throw a single punch to the body every now and then, so you won't see any punching combos or anything like that. Now ITF TKD you can punch to the head so that will be different.
Thanks! I've been working on closing the gap then using back hand strikes. I've noticed in your videos that when a kick is being thrown I could (assuming my foot work is good enough and I'm fast enough) move into the opponent and use hand attacks from there; there looks to be an opening if a TKD kick misses a target. There are certain "fears" that all styles have I think. Such as in Wing Chun I fear being brought to the ground or being attack from behind. We have techniques for these but they are not as good as other styles I feel. So I was wondering what are the "fears" of TKD. Our tournament is a reduced MMA style, we can hit torso and face with anything but no legs or other normal off limit areas.
Thanks so much for the kicking combo vid! Helped me out a lot in sparring. Mainly the last one, most of my opponents stay there so that one help a lot!
Nice and simple, good work. I like adding punches to gain distance during a combo. The side step is especially important, as I've found in modern times, some fighters will take your head off while you're kicking. That's why off center idea I think. The opponent has a harder time anticipating the attack direction. I've got stonne work to do there.
I got one thing to say with that first combination 1 and 2 what if your opponent stops your offense with a block punch check and clenches to stop the fight and regain some footing.
I learned my single sidekick from GM Joe Lewis (RIP) sidekick, my favorite from GM Bill (Superfoot) Wallace with fake front kick followed up with a round house kick or an outside crescent kick. Great vid, keep them coming.
I personally like left leg roundhouse to a same leg side kick, right leg roundhouse, left leg spin kick, right leg roundhouse and a left leg back kick. Once the back kick pushes them back blast em with a left leg tornado kick. My left leg is my power leg so the right is mainly used to set up the power techniques and maintain pressure and flow
With the opening left leg roundhouse to side kick don't just push your foot out after the roundhouse, instead after the rechamber slice and throw it at the same time to add the extra force into it
Liking the videos, Alex! I'm a TSD practitioner, and we do point sparring, so I have to modify your kicks and techniques to simulate contact without contact. Takes a ton of control. But, I'm learning and your instruction is definitely going to help! Thanks!
Absolutely, Ma'am! My strategy is to study similar Martial Arts techniques and modify them to accelerate my tool box of weapons for my tournaments. I am 54 yrs old. a Sam Dan in TSD, in South MS, teaching 2 to 3 times a week at my Master's dojang, trying to compete with women in my division possibly 20 yrs. younger. Young people with this level of skill sets make me stronger and better. Thank you for your excellent videos! Hope to meet you someday! :-)
(I just began as a white belt) One thing my instructor showed me was a side kick and then a back kick. As he said, after you finished the side kick it puts you in position for a back kick.
Your kicks in taekwondo sparring is really incredible and you are a master in your craft when it comes to your martial arts and you are a true badass alex.🥋🦶🏻💯😁

5th combo is making. round kick + step + spin hook kick. I always use the round kick as a fake on purpose to get them to move in a specific direction I want. after that they will slide right into the spin hook! thx alex :)
Alex Wong I have 2 red TKD soft square pad's, can you do a video on how to hold for each kick? I have seen double and single pad style, can you teach? Aloha No!
Alex Wong, I really love your sparring techniques, I hope i can learn from it ,I was quite joining taekwondo, but I'm scared of hitting someone same as when somebody hits me, I lack self defense and I wish you teach ,its okay if only in a video. I would love to see it , thanks
I enjoyed the video thanks, but isn't it considered disrespectful or dangerous to wear your belt in public? Or does this not apply for higher belts? Just curious :)
Was trained for competition last time instead of just for black belt. Lot of my frens are blact belt holder yet cant fight. Sparring isnt for everyone nor to mention enjoy it during the process.

I guess it varies by school? I am not sure, I was just wearing it for the video.
muy bueno
She is tking this video seriously 😄
Hey Alex ı want to ask 1 thing why you dont scream out 'kiap' and do exhale.
Sorry for my bad English
I do during sparring in tournaments, during training I just exhale like you would in MMA training. It's just my preference
+Alex Wong Thanks a lot
+Alex Wong you are so awsom!oh and im also gona join TKD and by my1st sparring i won 2 gold medals.
Was trained for competition last time instead of just for black belt. Lot of my frens are blact belt holder yet cant fight. Sparring isnt for everyone nor to mention enjoy it during the process.
