    If you split Tom Brady’s career in two, he would literally make it to the Hall of Fame TWICE. Let’s pump the breaks on this comparison for a minute.

    • @clay9333
      @clay9333 4 года назад +8

      @Brandon - Not to mention, we’ve heard this all before with Cam Newton. He won an MVP early on too. We was the next guy that was going to change the position... Change everything! He was also being lauded about being better than Brady early on. Before that, Michael Vick. These Brady haters should just take a number and have a seat.

    • @HP_____
      @HP_____ 4 года назад +9

      If you separate Brady's career into two (2001-2009 and 2010-2019) and I would mark the draft of Gronk being the start of his second Hall of Fame career. The teams he had transitioned from early years being defense dominant to the later offensive juggernauts.
      If you separate his career into three, first would be 2001-2006 (6 active years) being defense dominant team winning his first 3 Super Bowls. Second would be 2007-2013 (6 active years, with an injured inactive year of 2008), an offensive explosion and record breaking years, but losing two Super Bowls. Third would be 2014-2019 (6 active years and counting), his autumnal years of winning 3 Super Bowls in 4 appearances with a complete intellectual mastery of his position. So far 18 active stellar years. Any player would be in the hall of fame with just one of those 3 periods.
      However you slice it, he deserves 2 or 3 gold jackets. On top of it with another factoid, the number of games he played exceeded the combined games of Joe Montana and Steve Young as 49ers, his childhood idols... AND winning more championships (with 9 SB appearances so far!!) than those two combined! The man has had an amazing career that's unparalleled!

    • @clay9333
      @clay9333 4 года назад +2

      @HP - Very true. Most people look at the 10 years that he didn’t win a Super Bowl without considering he was always in the picture and in fact lost two of them, and those were some of his best in terms of shattering records. So, yeah... You could actually divide his career in 3 and he’d make it to the hall of fame 3 times. It’s absolutely amazing. On a personal note - I was 27 years old when he won his first Super Bowl. I started my family then, (had two daughters), raised them, both in college now.. And Brady just won last year when I turned 45!!! THAT to me is insane!

    • @clay9333
      @clay9333 4 года назад +1

      @Shane H - The NFL was ready to take deflate gate to the Supreme Court and the Judge threw the NFL’s case out the window. Then the NFL still suspended Brady for 4 games, fined the Patriots and took draft picks. Meanwhile other players were beating their girlfriends and wives and whipping their little kids. Brady has won 3 AFC Championships and two Super Bowls since deflate gate anyway... You’re probably one of those guys that says the NFL goes out of there way to make sure Brady wins, yet you have all of this nonsense and attacks coming from the NFL and the Commissioner. The NFL does everything they can to make sure there is parody in the league and so that one team can’t dominate anymore. Example: Free Agency, Salary cap etc. You can’t have it both ways. Brady is the goat even when the NFL is trying to tear him down.

Peyton was great in college, what was his biggest failure? Never won the big game. • @PsilocybeJedi
      @PsilocybeJedi 4 года назад +21

    • @brotatochip3730
      @brotatochip3730 4 года назад +9

      PNW_PsilocybeJedi Again what people don’t understand when they argue team accomplishments is limiting it to just championship accolades. The qb position stat wise is probably the second most position in football that depends on other people to be great (probably other than WR or kicker/punter). Need great scheme, weapons (he has some of the fastest receivers in the game) opportunity ect. I can go on but to say qb stats are individual is blasphemous. Sometimes interceptions aren’t even on qbs. Don’t get me wrong I love patrick mahomes but don’t say championships or moments are team based but qb stats are not as individual as nick Wright makes it out to be. Andy Reid has a history of helping/making great or legendary qbs so this is no surprise.

    When it comes to Mahomes people like Skip and Mangini keep moving the gold post. Mangini said Mahomes scored 9 points in their first meeting vs the Pats. True but i could've sworn the game is 4 quarters plus he scored 31 points in the second Belichick defense. Not his fault his defense gave up 43 points. A little stat here last year in the regular season in games the Chiefs lost Mahomes had an average of 38.5 points and his defense gave up 41 points on average in those losses.A lot of teams don't get to 38 points when they win. In the AFC championship game anybody who says Brady played better than Mahomes obviously didn't watch the game. Brady had 2 horrible picks including one in the end zone. Plus when Mahomes left the field he had the lead and he didn't get the ball in overtime so...Now about the money I do'nt remember Brady taking less money when he had his first contract.He took less money wayyy down the line and he could afford that why? Because he has a wife with a net worth of 400 Millions. Dan Marino is considered one of the great QB ever but how many superbowl does he have? huuuh none! Now what if Mahomes win this year MVP with another 50 and 5,000 and let's say he wins maybe 4 MVPs total and maybe 3 or 4 SuperBowls and when it's all said and done he holds all the records passings yards, TDs, long distance TD, what are these same people gonna say? Well Brady beat him twice in his first year starting so Brady still the GOAT smh..

      The league wasn't what it is today until 10 years ago give or take a year or two. The only teams that were throwing the ball like this in the late 90's early 2000s were the Rams (Greatest Show On Turf) and the Colts (With Manning) It wasn't till 06-08 where teams started adopting the spread concepts and throwing it as much as they are and it's gotten progressively worse or better (depending on how you look at it) over the years especially with the constant rule changes hindering the defense. Point is Brady hasn't been playing in this "era" his entire career like Mahomes is/going forward.

    Witnessed Marino's 44 TD season: lost to Montana in SB, never went back. Dan Fouts had more 300+ yard (equivalent to 400 yards now) games than anyone else with Air Correal: never a SB. John Elway had more fourth quarter come backs than anyone: 2 SB's won, lost to Montana 44-10 last SB appearance. The SB era of the NFL is littered with incredible QB's that never came close to the accomplishments of TB12, but had great teams and coaches, just like him. Now the league is touch football basically and a 42 y/o QB is still winning with down field passing in a new era. Pump the brakes a little until Patty Mahomes strings together something similar. What is being said now is: PM is heads above the competition of his era, they all were.

With thanks for the correction, that team was dominant, but so were the rest of them. They come and go for a short time,,,usually. Rams, Cowboys, Steelers, Bills, Minnesota and even the early GB team in the first SB's. Point being, they are usually short-lived,,,Pats being the anomaly Even though the Bills and Minnesota lost four times in a row, they made it and were a force to be reckoned with. All good teams for their era.

The Media likes to create these conversations, even though we know that it's unfair to put that kind of pressure on ANY QB. What Brady has done, not just in the regular season but the post season as well..... It's unheard of, and I personally believe will never happen again. Mahomes is great, and I personally believe he will be great for a long time. He's even a good guy from what I've heard, so I'm even happier that he is the next standard bearer for QB's once Brady is gone. With that being said, gaudy stats in an era where it's even MORE pass friendly than the vast majority of Brady's career do not stand up on their own. You've gotta have it all. You have to have post season success, good health, consistency, leadership, and the ability to be clutch the majority of the time. Mahomes has some of those right now, some of the other ones he can't "get" without a few more years of playing for obvious reasons.

      Plus in the NFL its been proven you don’t even have to have a elite QB or even near Elite for that matter!!!! Long as you have a run game and a great Defense (plus good game day scheme) a decent QB jobs becomes just don’t turn the ball over and they could win!!!!
      It’s HARD to say who is a goat a QB because it’s some much that has to go with that... MORE than any sport!!! But far as individual talent and skill you would definitely have to say Mahomes!!!!
