Who deserves more credit for the Pats dynasty: Brady or Belichick?
Deflated balls
Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED Belichick
Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED No one really cares they both need to retire
Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED Brady
Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED Belicheck theyve had below average QBs throughout the years fill in for Brady and theyve had nearly a better win percentage than with Brady so it doesnt matter who the QB is as much as who that coach is
Who remembers when Skip lost a debate to this guy and at the end talked about how he got fired as a head coach? 😂
MJKOP770 when was that!?
Micah Bisharah ruclips.net/video/uyM7zkq4JpQ/видео.html
Here ya go
Micah Bisharah Like 5 years ago probably. I saw it recently tho.
I remember that
🤣🤣
Drinking game: take a shot wend ever Undisputed talks about
1. Lebron
2.The cowboys
3. Tom Brady
thx but the idea of an ethilic coma is not that atractive to me :D
You'd be dead at the lebron takes
All of Skip's favorite topics
We'd die of alcohol poisoning.
4. Get stomach pumped after every show
Belichick is the one who drafted Brady and is the one who puts the nobodies in place and makes them great players. So Belichick is the one who built the dynasty.
Micaiah Albert now if any other coach drafted him would he still be this good ?
I agree with Mangini, no he would not be the Tom Brady he is today without Belichick.
Why didn’t he draft Brady with their first round pick? He got lucky
PatsDynasty 👍👍👍
PatsDynasty Oh I don't know? Why waste a first rounder on a guy that would had be available in later rounds hmmm
"Hes carrying awful roster"
Doesnt win MVP. Wins Superbowl instead. #GOAT
Lol his not
Skip cannot tell Eric about the pats.
Nehemiah vaughn That fool will still try to!
BB is a genius. Lots of players had career years in NE and then left and basically drifted. BB took in some many rows offs and made them serviceable.
Yea Brady made scrubs look good then without brady they turn back into scrubs
He is the Phil Jackson of football!!!
Brady should get some credit for the Pats' salary cap. A different QB of the same caliber would be requiring so much more than Brady. Instead, Brady takes progressively less in order for the team to bring on more talented/expensive players.
W/O Brady 52-61, with Brady 226-68.
HE'S THE ONE, THAT DRAFTED BRADY.... he gave him a chance and helped mold him into the QB he is today
"that guy needs to get his bleep together"
-Coach Mangini
Tom Brady 100% is the reason for PATS's success.
ooohhh how nice Eric and Skip are finally getting along!!!!
Skip seems to ignore the fact that the Patriots defense shut out opponents in the 2nd half. You can't win a game if the defense keeps the opponents out of the endzone, yards don't win you games (which skip uses for the last SB).
lol I love when Mangini comes on the show - all he does is speak logically and it sounds so reasonable, and then Skip chimes in with his ridiculous takes and all I can do is laugh.
Didnt they win with Garappolo and Brissett??? This conversation is ridiculous. They both need each other
Gabriel Mariñas Brisset was 1-1. Lost against Bills
Gabriel Mariñas jimmy g won one game and got hurt the next smh stupid
They went 3-1 but won on a FG miss by AZ. They could easily have been 2-2 against an easy four teams that combined for a 33-30-1 record.
You're 100% correct! There have been some games where it's been more about Brady being the reason they won the game. But Belichek sets the stage that makes it conducive to Brady winning at a much higher percentage rate.. And this comment is coming from someone that is NOT a Patriots fan!
Intelligent!
To be fair in the 1st half Bill carried Tom but the more you move along the more Tom carried him. It’s not black and white since the arguments are good on both sides, so honestly it’s a personal preference
Sam Co Bill is the coach and GM so I give him 60/40
The Xman personally I’m a Brady guy
Sam Co I respect that. I'm jets fan I hate both of those guys lol. I get it tho
The Xman by the way what’s up with Sam, how did he look in minicamp
Sam Co He was sluggish threw an interception, overthrew a few guys. But he miss meetings and practices so I'm not surprised. I think he's going win the starting job this season if he balls out in preseason, which I think he will
What a great discussion all 3 points are well made.As a New England since Steve Grogan fan, you are all absolutely right! These 2 guys are like they are sent from Heaven! Kudos to Mangini by the way after the spygate stuff, to endorse Bill like that - speaks well of you Eric.
I bet if the patriots had Sean Lee, they would be able to win 100% of their games without brady.
Snake Lee?
SonicspeedLuke
Why are you deleting comments
Hahaha savage.
😂😂😂
In fact, Pats lost to Eagles last year because Sean Lee was hurt, lol.
great analysis!!!
Bill is the greatest coach is the history of sports
Phil Jackson
@@bennyrobinson1935 The NBA?
yep
As a lifelong Patriots fan, it is Bill Belichick. Tom is an all time great QB and leader, but Bill has constructed a system and a culture that is second to none.
The very nature of the Patriots system, which focuses on roles rather than stars, has allowed us to effectively manage our cap while enhancing the talents of individual players. We dont need an Antonio Brown because we have a system that makes guys like Edelman highly effective.
Not to take away from the players, who execute that system flawlessly.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 then why your ''edelmans'' doesn't work anymore???
Tom Brady Goat QB !!!
Bill and Tom are both the 🐐. Neither one deserves more credit than the other. The pats might win a division with a Matt cassel.. But they aren't winning a superbowl without Tom Brady
funny thing is they didn't even win
the division with Matt
@@renialate1882 no one wanted to play the Patriots at the end of that year. Remember we blew the cardinals out who went on to the superbowl
Also the Seattle super bowl was won on a play by a undeafted player who Bill prepared for the exact pick play Seattle ran.
Jacob Hughes and it was funny before the pick Brady was top 2 QB after the defensive player saved the game they called him the GOAT
Jacob Hughes actually that was browner who recognized the play
Jacob Hughes who led the comeback to even make the game competitive?
Chris Simon exactly the pats were down by 10 with 10min to go and Brady led them down the field twice
Tha Ruthless 1_ AZF so the defense had to get a stop right. Football had offense and defense. You can't win without both doing something good during the game. And special teams if those FG miss then nobody is calling Brady the GOAT. That's why it's a TEAM sport
They compliment each other and make each other better. Argument over, it’s a team sport. Good Lord.
DEFINITELY AGREE WITH YOU SKIP ON THIS ONE
During all of those comebacks they had to get stops too, and the defense is ran completely by Bill.
Put some respeck on Matt Patricia
What’s the purpose of a Defense? 🤔
Isaac Young: The point is, when defense make stop and Pats won, its all because of Brady greatness. But when the defense could not make play, its all because of them.
Jacob Hughes - 1. Patricia ran the defense.
2. The defense is terrible - one of the lowest talent-wise in the league.
3. Why do you have to come back? If the defense could consistently get stops, you wouldn't be behind, certainly not by 28 points.
4. The production of Tom Brady, relative to other QBs he is facing, is a great barometer of how effective he is vs how effective his defense is. If you factor in the relative quality of the offense the Pats' Defense facing, and the quality of defense Brady and the offense is facing, you'll be able to get a very clear picture of the disparity between Brady and his Defense. For example: Joe Flacco isn't that hard to stop. The Ravens Defense was really hard to score on. Stats showed that throughout the years. So, when Flacco was getting 300+ yards and 2+ TDs against the Pats', their defense did terrible - they gave up a lot of yards and points to a bad offense. When Brady could throw for 300+ yards and 2+ TDs against that defense (with Ray Lewis), he did outstanding - he did a lot against a great defense.
tigera6 it’s a team sport so obviously you judge players individually for the game, Brady played great. And if the defense had played even good. They would have won. They couldn’t stop anyone out there. Horrible defense. I still think that if the eagles don’t get that fumble. Brady would have scored and then the game gets interesting.
They both are overpowered, both tom and bill are goats. Bill could win any QB he made matt Cassell look great, jimmy g was a stud and definitely couldve groomed him in a great player, and also the backup qb with the colts cant remember his name. Its obvious that he can win without brady due to his gameplan. Tom brady could easily win with another team. Theyre both goats and its almost not fair them being on the same team.
I absolutely agree with Skip
People always say what was Belichek before Brady (even though he did win Superbowls being the Giants DC). But what was Brady before Belichek. The man didn't even start in college, and was a 6th Rd pick. Bill deserves alot of credit for creating Tom Brady.
Heisenberg-SchrodingerEmc2
BELICHEK
I wish Jenny would look at me the way she looks at skip 😍
it's in her contract she has to look at skip that way to stay on-air
It's 50/50, you can't have one without the other. Bill does well to put together a gameplan and Brady executes it. If it's not executed well then no amount of coaching will help. Really it's 33% since McDaniels puts together a great gameplan and calls good plays in the game.
Brady 80 percent after what we’ve seen
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved
Carson Davis lmaooo what this is a sports video dude
Amen
Belichick and Brady are forever entwined. They both deserve equal credit.
Skip, the man!!!!
It’s a shame all of those top 10 defenses of the early 2000’s patriots have been forgotten. And Kevin Faulk has been forgotten. And Lagarett Blount has been forgotten. Tom Brady never won a Super Bowl without being on a team with a good defense or with a solid enough running game to pick up tough yards. When Bill needed the weight of the world to be on Tom’s shoulders, the patriots went 18-1.
Parcels had a guy named Lawrence Taylor.
Brady. Think about it. If it was Belicheck, Why is their defense so good this year?... it’s the players... only thing different than other years. I’m not saying the coach is bad, but it’s the players that make the team great.
Skip was right 🤣after all
All the great ones are
It literally kills skip when shannon brings up he played, Skip always gotta say he knows the person or “covered them” apparently Skip has covered every team in history
Bill is the best special teams coach ever! Its always dann near perfect
I agree with both sides of the story here, the Ravens winning their super bowl was the art work of Bill and the first year Bill was at the Pat's he was in a building stage. And Tom to work with most personal that comes and goes and to make clutch plays and big plays continuously when needed is on another level to most QB's. It is around the 50-50 some times it swings back and forth a little but most of the time it is equal.
Ooooooooooh! Mangini is giving us privileged information about what EVERYONE already knows! Damn!
Damn I forgot the Browns/Ravens were built up by Bill.
The ravens were built by Ozzie Newsome.
Fran Tarkenton, and Ol Vinny SKILP
Turns out...without Brady, Bill is just another coach, searching
The players always deserve most of the credit because they perform on the field.
The greatest Coach...period
Both guys are key to their success, but Belichick deserves more credit because he created an environment where NOBODY can be comfortable. Brady down to the 53rd guy on the roster is afraid to be late to a meeting. Even Chad Johnson aka Ochocinco mentioned how shocked he was to see Brady get chewed out in a meeting. Nobody is safe. That accountability puts everyone at attention. Assistant coaches as well. If they make it to another Super Bowl, their focus and practice level will be at 200% after seeing what happened to Malcolm Butler.
Belichick is a great coach let's not forget that the Browns last playoff win was when he was coaching and it was against the patriots ironically.
"I love how the fail to mention AB... They're undefeated when he plays...." -AB
Bob 💀💀💀
I like how skip bayless asks these guys if they know how an nfl team operates, if they understand locker room culture.
Man I'm tried of this argument... Its 50/50. Tom wouldnt be the same without bill, and bill wouldnt be the same without tom
Why is this even a debate? They are both the greatest of all-time at what they do, and they have needed each other in order to accomplish what they have. If Patriots fans really don’t want Belichick, then send him over to my Steelers. You can have Tomlin, who has no idea what he’s doing in critical situations.
I really think it's 50/50. They have an incredible professional relationship.
"Your collection is STILL on my record!
I gotta pay it off to co-sign!"
Just one difference - Brady
Yo that’s an old topic, but man football is coming back!!
If I'm remembering correctly, one of the Browns almost victories in the last 2 years was in a game in Foxboro. They had something like a 2 TD lead with 2 minutes to play and figured out a way to lose. Anything's possible. EDIT: And seriously Bayless should stop accusing people of being haters given he's the biggest hater of anyone! LOL
I'm not a fan of Skip but hindsight is 20/20 all of these years later and he was right about Tom Brady. Bill Belichick was mediocre coach before Tom Brady and he looks even worst since Brady departure. While Tom Brady has lead the Tampa Bay Bucs to the playoffs each year and won a Super Bowl in 2020.
Agree with Skip
This again. Just enjoy the ride
Skip just doesn't get football...coaches play a BIG part in teams ..
Wait... Belchick gets the most credit for the 1st 3 SB; yet over-all Brady is the BIG reason?!?!
#MakesNoSence
Ultimately .... PLAYERS play the game. Belichick should get credit for building the Patriots "culture" which includes his roles of being able to be both the GM and Coach. As for people who always want to use the word "system" .... every team has their "system". No coach tosses the ball to their QB and lets them do their own thing. The difference is .... Brady and Belichick have been repeating and refining the same strategy for over 15 years. Forget a QB who lasts that long .. how many more coaches are there in the NFL who have lasted over 10 years. Marvin Lewis (no idea how he's kept his job with such mediocrity) and Mike McCarthy who ... wow .. also has one of the greatest QBs of all time. However, no one wants to label that 10+ year relationship a "system".
Peyton did what he wanted offensively. He was the off coordinator to be real. Drew brees Sean Payton bill and Brady have an excellent 10+ year system. Mike McCarthy and that entire GB organization proved they ain't shot without Arod.
How many playoffs they make without Brady? How many playoff wins they have without Brady? Yes...there's Matt Cassell...yup, he didn't carry the Pats to the playoffs as the system should suggest. as for Peyton, you must not watch Pats games and how Brady shifts his guys based on what the defense shows him. Every team has a system. Some QBs have the extra talent to make additional plays outside the broken parameters of their system. Me...I'll take a guy who is the system, and runs plays as they should be. There's a reason the Pats are successful and how Brady has 5 Superbowl wins and 4 Superbowl rings.
What is Chip smoking during the commercial break? Who fumbled in the last Super Bowl? Brady. Who took over the Atlanta Super Bowl? James White. Who won the game for New England against Seattle? Malcolm Butler. It's not just Brady and Belichick. It's the whole team.
Definitely Brady
I usually lean towards Tom but this last super bowl showed how important bill is especially when Tom is struggling
Tom goat
The credit in my opinion goes to Belichick he is the one that's kept his dynasty alive for 20 years. He is the one who made the unpopular decision to start Brady after Drew Bledsoe was healthy. He took a lot of heat for starting an unknown second-year quarterback out of Michigan instead of playing a guy the organization just paid 100 million dollars to. At the end of the day the credit goes to Belichick because he stood up against the general consensus and recognized what Tom Brady was
Name Belichicks signature must win without Brady? You can't because it doesn't exist. 98 Citrus Bowl, 99 Orange Bowl. Thats two in Brady's only two years as a starter at Michigan and I don't recall seeing Belichick on the sideline. Belichick was so pathetic in Cleveland the owner moved them to another state to get away from him.
It's amazing how much TB and LBJ have in common.
Bill Knew Everything - Drones on opposing practices helped
Tom Brady was making teams great even before the NFL. Dude knows how to win no matter who is around him. Belichick and Brady are both the goat. But Brady, considering how much he was overlooked up until he took over starting job, is the most impressive of the two. That’s my opinion.
As always the Pats will be better than anyone anticipates... Who they are in week 1, 5, 13 and 16 will be different and ultimately when the it's time to play in the playoffs they'll be ready...
Skip is getting more disrespectful by the day. The way he treated Stephen A was much much greater than the respect he shows Shannon, Shannon being a guy that brings in ratings, is a hall of fame player/legend and an overall good guy!
Marino shows you what a great QB looks like without a great coach/team, Nick Sabin shows you what a great coach with no QB looks like, you need both to win a super bowl, you need a great organisation to create a dynasty. Players win games, QBs and Coaches win Super Bowls, GM’s / owners create daynasties
60/50 Bill/Brady
Skip is unbelievable lmao.
I think the Pats couldn’t win without TB12 and Bellicheck. Why do people alway take the credit away from Brady? How many Super Bowls does he have to win and records does he have to break to be the GOAT? Seriously people I’ve never heard this kind of nonsense with any other player. Why does Aaron Rogers always come into the conversation bc he has only won one Super Bowl! He’s a great player but Brady’s incredible talent is his mind and ability to win when the chips are down! I’m just sick and tired of Shannon Sharpe’s inability to man up and admit that Brady is the GOAT? Joe Montana was an amazing player but Brady has been to 9 Super Bowls so what is wrong with people. I just don’t get it! Grow a brain!
6:21 A couple of days ago, Skip said that Edelman was just a 7th round pick. You can't have it both ways.
This is absolutely stupid. They're both great in their own right. This entire "debate" is bred out of jealousy to be honest. We don't do this with any Coach/QB duo. I've never heard people debate Lombardi/Starr, Montana/Walsh, Shanahan/Young, Shanahan/Elway, Holmgren/Favre, Shula/Marino, Knoll/Bradshaw, Dungy/Manning, etc. Not once Have i ever heard people diminish those QBs legacy because of their coaches, but yet we do it with Brady???... People for some reason have massive jealousy/hate towards brady that they'll go overboard and try and tear down his legacy to the point that it's pathetic. and i am not even a patriots fan, just being objective here
Don’t forget the financials. Brady is the 16th highest paid QB. He has given up money to help bring in better players. I know he’s 41 and isn’t going to get a big long contract but he’s worthy of a top 5 contract still with his production.
Its gotta be Brady. Won without Belichick
Its 50/50. Bilichick is afforded a lot of luxury having someone he does not need to worry about at the most important position who also takes pay cuts for him to grab more talent. Brady also keeps himself healthy and out of trouble. They need each other.
IDGAF who's coaching. 28-3 , 246 yards, 2TD in the 4th. When Rodgers EVER did that ? WTF was the defense for 3 quarters? Seattle Super Bowl too.
Robert Kraft is the reason for the long-term success of the New England Patriots. And that is because he hired a coach. It doesn't matter who the coach is. Mr. Craft allow that coach to do his job without interference from the owner and that would be himself.
To illustrate this point, Shannon Sharpe said, 'Belichick will get rid of a player if he doesn't perform. And it doesn't matter how much he's getting paid'. The coach could not pull that trigger unless he had explicit permission from the owner.
Shannon Sharpe was a player that was in the game of the National Football League. He, more than likely, witnessed players who we're paid a lot of money and did not perform at the level that was expected. The coaches, more than likely, had to keep and work with those players because the owners made it clear that they had to keep that player, for whatever reason. This 'owner interference' is the main reason why a lot of organizations do not succeed in the NFL.
Belechik deserves as much credit for drafting Gronk as he does Brady. Gronk missed his senior season due to injury and the Pats still traded up to get the best TE of all time.
Y'all know who tom is, kobe Bryant 5 ring, loss in big game, both won 3 with Shaq and bill defence first before they won the next 2 on there own. There resume are similar to each other so much. Joe and micheal resume are similar with them not losing at all in the big game
Bill been in the nfl for over 40 years. His options plays for offense for all players on all plays os really hard to understand that why he rather have smart then talent. Be smarter is better in football.
The 07 patriots defense was great look at the roster
The only fact is Drip won't have a job without the likes of Brady and Belichick.
Cowboys fan, Skip Bayless, going to help send Belichick to my 49ers. If social media existed in the 1990's, Skip would be saying to trade Pippen because MJ does it all.
I'd say that they both need each other reason being is that being a Qb is more than just throwing the football. You can almost take any average player whether he be a lineman or a tight end and throw the ball 40 or 50 yards but that still wouldn't make him a Quarterback. Most people forget that Tom brady has a good work habit on and off the field. He does his homework figuring out ways to to get better and how to beat you because he knows that he isn't athletic he's slow doesn't have Aaron Rodgers arm although he can throw pretty far but he's great in situational football when the other teams figure you out and the pressure is on. This what gives him an edge over most QBs making right decisions. Not all the time but for most of the time. You can have a great coach but if you don't have the right Quarterback to carry out the mission then it's useless. Belichick is a good chess player coach he studies all the moves. It's like teaching you how to play an instrument, I could teach you how to play the keys (I'm a musician), I can teach you the basics but ultimately you'll have to up your own style if you want to go to the next level, and that means that you'll have to practice practice, practice. Not when you just have a keyboard session but also at home and every chance you get. Brady studies football at home on holidays etc. So he can be the best. Belichick said himself that he learned a lot from Brady. 60% Brady 40% Belichick is my opinion. Coach wouldn't have all of these superbowls without Tom hands down!
Brady 80% bill 20 stop with the matt cassel b.s. the pats had a rediculus team that yr! Wait and see when average pat team plays without the 🐐 then we can finally appreciate the 🐐
Without Brady, the Patriots would not be a SB dynasty period!!!!
If the first three SB wins in NE was primarily Bill, well then it should follow that most of the credit should keep going to Bill.
Sure, I agree that TB is a great QB, but he couldn't win a single SB with the browns. Sure the QB is important and you need a good one to win. But if you don't build a good enough team around that QB it doesn't work. Football, despite how much everyone seems try to forget is a team game. And team games at the professional level cannot be won by a single player no matter who he is.
That's just how it is.
"Bill is different than other coaches" SINCE WHEN??? I HAD NO IDEA!!!
You gotta give some of the percentage to Dante Scarnecchia. Night and day without him coaching the O-Line. Brady is the GOAT, but no QB is great on his back.
