    Nick makes a great point I’ve always made myself. Making it to the championship game whether it’s NFL, NBA, or even MLB should be more of an accomplishment then the knock it is. Yes it shouldn’t count nearly as much to legacy as a ring obviously, but too much we make people who kept getting to championships but couldn’t always close sound worse then players who went less or never made it at all.
    Think about the Rodgers debate. People don’t truly knock him for not winning more rings. They knock him mostly for just never even making another one with his talent. It’s disappointing. If Rodgers made at least two more Superbowls but lost them, yes it would look bad, but it would look much better then it does right now. A lot of great players never even made it to the finals yet alone conference championships in their entire careers. It doesn’t enshrine you as much as the actual rings do, but it still makes you more memorable over time. Let’s be real. The only reason we all know who Jim Kelly is, is because of the 4 straight loses in SuperBowl. If he never made a single one nobody but Bills fans would even remember him or know he was a player in NFL. A silver medal is still a silver medal.

    @bradleyhoward9638 Год назад +3

    Blaming Patrick Mahomes for not winning the AFC Championship game in 2018 and the Superbowl in 2020 is not fair. He was perfect in his first AFC Championship game. He had three drives in the first half and did not score he had to overthrows that ended drives. He got 31 points in the second half including a 30-second field-goal drive to tie the game and never saw the ball in OT. The defense could not get a stop and when they did they had penalties negate them. One was legit dee ford was off sides although it did not affect the play. The other was a bogus roughing-the-passer on Chris Jones that should not have been called and probably cost us the game. But he was going up against the greatest defensive head coach of all time it was his first big game he started off slow but he finished exceptionally great. If the Chiefs got in the ball in overtime they would have won I have no doubt based on how unstoppable he was. The Rams effort in the Super Bowl was so miserable I am confident KC would have won it but these are hypotheticals I know. I do blame him for his poor play against the Bengles in the second half of 2021 afc championship game but I would like to point out that his offensive coordinator was hamstringing him with frustrating confrontations and his head coach would not tell him to check the ball down like a responsible one would have. I also blame that loss on coaching obviously. The 2020 Super Bowl was the perfect storm. No other quarterback would have even made the Super Bowl with that offensive line. Despite that he lost one game the entire season until the Super Bowl. He was under pressure in every game and he was unbelievably great despite that. It wasn't until we lost our fourth starting linemen and were down 3 tackles that the wheels finally fell off against an amazing defensive line. The same team he had beaten earlier in the year by the way and in that game the only lineman he had that he didn't have in the Super Bowl was Eric Fisher at left tackle. Fisher was the only thing stopping the dam from breaking. Reid should have taken the offense out of the AFC Championship game on the last drive they already had the game won. That cost us the Superbowl. That said he also did not help his tackles block at all no chip blocks, no tight ends staying to block, nothing. Even with all that Patrick Mahomes was running for his life on turf toe and after having a concussion two weeks earlier to the tune of 500 yards laterally, heaving balls without his feet set off platform and falling down and they landed directly in the receiver's hands twenty to fifty yards downfield and they dropped it every time. KC was always behind so they couldn't run the ball, therefore the defense rushed the passer on every play. This was aided by the fact that the officials called defensive pass interference on the Chiefs on nearly every play of the first half. Thank you dearly Carl Cheaters, love Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. He was so impressive in that Super Bowl that the Bucs defensive players could not believe eyes. They were incredulous on the sidelines, praising him as he made ridiculous plays in vain. Mahomes should have won MVP that year. The voters only saw Rodgers touchdowns. They did not see how great Patrick was all season. If Rodgers was playing behind that offensive line he wouldn't have made the playoffs much less the SB. He won more games than him too. He was 14-1 and 2-1 in the playoffs. Rodgers was 13-3 and 1-1 in the playoffs. The playoffs don't count towards MVP but Mahomes was better at every turn. He will probably win more MVPs than anyone if he doesn't suffer from voter fatigue. I hope he wins at least 5 Super Bowls because he will be the only one in the goat discussion against Brady when he retires and probably forever. MVPat will be a double MVP this year! The Chiefs are on the warpath! We bringin' the hurt to Jalen Hurts and the Beagles! Go Chiefs! Soon to be SBLVII Champions!

    Wildes' argument doesn't make sense . . . people who don't finish marathons are equivalent to NBA teams who don't make the playoffs, and every team that does make the playoffs is a top 16 finisher. The comp that makes the most sense here is mountain climbing. . . Because both Mountain climbing and maneuvering through an NBA Season + playoffs takes a lot of endurance because you don't climb the mountain in 1 climbing session and depending on the mountain it could be over the span of a week to 2 weeks. And the comparison I'd make here is climbing Mountain Everest, so NBA non playoff teams can't even reserve the flight to Nepal, NBA playoff teams make it to the base of the mountain but don't go higher than a few thousand feet, and NBA Finals teams reach the top of the mountain. The reason I say NBA Finals teams make it to the top of the mountain and not just the Finals winner is because they both made it to the top of their conference. The NBA Finals Winner gets to plant their team flag on top of the mountain and take a selfie with the flag in it and the NBA Finals loser only gets to take a selfie while they're there w/o planting their team flag. Because both are highly impressive feats and the reason I say mountain climbing instead of a marathon is because you have to be the best team 4 games out of 4, 5, 6, or even 7 games for 3 rounds. Because I don't think that there's a marathon in a series format I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure there's not a marathon is more of what NFL teams do because it's the best of one situation and anything ranging from a ball bouncing the wrong way to a person sleeping on the wrong side of the bed can wrongly impact how a game/marathon turns out.
