    If Hill doesn’t miss the Chiefs, then move on. He keeps trying to justify his beliefs that the Chiefs didn’t value him. He traded himself.

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv Год назад +3

      I don’t think he misses the team at this point but I do think he feels a need to try and justify his decision without coming out to say that it was entirely about money. Because everybody can tell they it was solely money focused.
      So he keeps trying to say he wasn’t getting targets or wasn’t valued by the team. Because that’s easier to say than “i wanted the maximum money”. The facts show that he had his best season of his career last year (until this year). He got more targets than ever. Mahomes was making mistakes by locking into him often last year.
      What he doesn’t want to come out and say is that the chiefs made him a large offer but it wasn’t the top offer in the league. And he wasn’t happy to make less money to be in the team. The numbers that have circulated is that he was offered around $21.25M a year to stay in KC but that when Adams deal happened that he wanted more than that deal and wasn’t taking less.
      And as a chiefs fan I don’t blame him for wanting money that was available to him. It’s a business after all and careers can end in an instant. So while it would’ve been cool for him to stay, and still make a ton of money to play with Mahomes, I also get going for a deal that had $30M+ more guaranteed. That really isn’t something I fault him for choosing. What I do tske issue on is how he keeps making up things to try and act like he wasn’t being valued and that being the reason to leave. Especially when it is so transparently false for basicslly every claim he keeps making such as targets or matching AJ Browns deal that hadnt happened yet. It’s even more clear he’s lying when you look back at Rosenhaus saying right after his trade that they had been getting close to a new deal with KC but that Adams new deal stopped everything and that they told KC they weren’t going to take something that didn’t top that deal. So it’s just annoying that he keeps saying this or that is what led to things when in the end it was solely because KC wouldn’t top the Adams deal. I’d respect him a lot more if he’d just come out and say that he left because KC wouldn’t top the deal while other teams would. Rosenhaus himself says that he proposed to KC that if they didn’t want to beat the deal that they should seek a trade to a team that was willing to beat the deal so that everybody would benefit.

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv Год назад +1

      Yeah basically all of his reasons he wanted out didn’t check out. It was for the money and that’s cool but I wish he’d just own that. If you look at his targets that last year he had a few low target games if you want to cut him a break on the targets thing. But even that isn’t true considering why he had low targets the games he did.
      But otherwise every season there he had more targets than before except for the season he missed four games and then the year after that when he played the whole season he had two fewer targets than the prior full season. And his final season in KC he had the most targets of his entire career. So obviously that never checked out.
      His money talk never checked out either. He always says he didn’t expect top league money but he and his agent both came out and said that they had a deal mostly agreed to in KC until Adams got his new deal. Rosenhaus said right after the trade that the trade happened because the Chiefs realized Tyreek wasn’t going to sign for less money than Adams. So even Tyreeks belief of taking a “bargain price” of $25M he clearly wasn’t taking less than $28M a year.
      And the “I don’t gotta be highest paid I’ll just take $25M a year” talk isn’t even solid because at the time he would’ve said that it would’ve been the second highest paid to Hopkins. The guys who make that or more are Adams, Kupp, Hopkins and AJ Brown. Only one of those guys was at that level when Tyreek was playing it out as a discount. Kupp and Brown both got their deals after Tyreek. So he wasn’t willing to take less and the amount he thinks was less was still #2 in the league at the time. I don’t even blame him for getting what he could - that’s just business. But I do find it annoying that he cooks up all these rationales to try and act like KC didn’t use him or value him and that he was happy to take less to stay but the team just wouldn’t do it. He left because he wanted to be the highest paid in the league - and that’s cool but stop bullshitting about it and just own it because when you do it just comes off sounding so stupid.

      Let's not forget the SB against Tampa, Mahomes hit him dead centre of his face mask in the end zone, would've kept KC in the game in the 1st half, but Tyreek let it slip through his fingers cos' he can't hand catch the ball. Tyreek at heart is a Punt/kick returner and he likes to arm catch the ball using his chest craddling his arms. Like you say, he gives up many INT's when he has to catch the ball using his hands, there were 3 drops last year to the Bengals alone (the last of which he gave up for a INT). His speed makes him dangerous, but his lack of hand catching ability can at times make him a liability. Tyreek's not a WR you can just throw up a 50-50 ball to. Either you throw him a short quick pass or you throw one in behind the defense for him to go get. If Tyreek had OBJ or Hopkins' hands he'd be an all time great but he ain't got good hands.

    Let's not forget about 8 of Mahomes ints last year were tipped by Hill after hitting him in the hands. To include Von Bells int in OT during the arrowhead invitational. The year before Mahomes is superman diving and hitting Hill in the face mask in the end zone and he's dropping it in the superbowl. I love all that Hill did for KC and without him the Chiefs probably do not have a ring but man. Shut up. Hill had the drops and was a huge problem last year.

      NFL defensive coordinators are pretty smart. As soon as they figured out to play press coverage and not allow intermediate routes it was over. Sure... give up the occasional deep pass but that's a low percentage gamble.

    There's no way that Buffalo is less dangerous than the Chargers/Baltimore. The key issue with the Chargers is multiple talented WRs, like Cincy. KC's safeties are just not very good, so they don't provide the help needed against multiple Wrs. Chargers WRs are just always injured so the results aren't the same as with Cincy. As for Hill, he didn't like being behind Mahomes & Kelce in popularity. Ironically, he's still using KC,Mahomes,Kelce to get attention. Money is always part of it. KC's GM better learn to draft skill positions. Dorsey was the GM when Mahomes,Kelce,Hill,Jones etc were drafted & the Super Bowl team was mostly built. The talent level has slowly been going down since Andy fired him. They can't keep making terrible trades for guys like Frank Clark & Orlando Brown to cover for poor draft picks.

    Greg Jennings adds so much to this show. He is by far my favorite fourth guy, and this clip shows that he may actually my favorite third guy. Unlike Broussard, who seems to take everything to literally and personally, Jennings has a good temperament and understands that heightened punditry is part of the show's DNA, so he does not get his feathers ruffled when the other guys (mostly Nick) say over the top things to make an impression. Instead, he focuses on the details where he can add something meaningful to the conversation besides yelling. Great job, Greg Jennings!

      To be fair to Brou, I think the dynamic of the show and them all being buddies and clowning each other makes it easier for him to slide into a "role". Listen to him on The Odd Couple with Rob Parker and he has a different temperament. These guys seek like they're just having so much fun, they just dig in on random issues to clown on each other (Nick vs. the panel on the Bills, Brou vs. the panel on Russ, etc.). I love it
