The Bengals might not have just beat the Chiefs, they may have ruined Mahomes career.

… again. they’re literally going backwards. the won a super bowl, then they made it and lost, and now they didn’t even make the super bowl. if they keep this up, they’ll barely make the playoffs next year and probably be one and done
@@lainey6234 what silly logic. They'll always be "going backwards" unless they win the Superbowl every single year. Honestly, that 2nd and goal stop was the difference and changed the momentum. I was wondering why they went for it on their last down of the half when they could have ended the half w 14 point lead, not giving Bengals a chance to switch momentum in game. Maholmes was terrible second half. He stayed looking down field for 10 secs on two plays hoping for someone to be open when he had wide open field in front of him and could've ran for a chunk.
Brilliant football analysis 👏🏽 exactly my thoughts. Also the lack of adjustment to the 3 man rush by the Bengals they should have gave the ball to Edward's elire on the ground he was running the ball very efficiently against the 4 man rush
@@JG-fc2tq Exactly. This is why Skip and Shannon said Hill should have just batted the ball down instead of catching it there. That's so counter instinctual you'd have to be a football genius to have that level of situational awareness. I don't blame Hill for catching it and trying to make a play. The ball should have been thrown out of bounds when no one was open.
Yeah. Mahomes wasn’t great in the 2nd half. I felt like he was trying to do too much at times. Still, I think this is mostly on poor coaching decisions. The FG before halftime, lack of adjustments, etc.
The biggest problem imo was Chiefs last possession in the 4th quarter, they were more focused in running the clock out instead of scoring a Touch down and putting the pressure on Joe Burrow to tie or win the game with around 30-20 seconds time left on the clock.
Facts, they drove the ball all the way down to the red zone and ended up settling for a game tying field goal instead of the game winning touchdown smh

This was just one of those rare times where it didn't work out.
I knew the Chiefs lost this game when they couldn’t score that touchdown with a minute left with all 3 of their timeouts while they were right in the red zone, instead Mahomes just scrambled around, got sacked and wasted time and downs. 🤦♂️

@@keithdior1657 he had an elite year. If he does it next year (highly likely) id argue it. Randall cobb had one superb year. I wouldnt have ever said he was elite
Happy for Bengals fans but please give the Bengals defense their flowers. Joe Burrow didn’t lead them to SB. Lazy take saying so. It was Bengals defense that clamped down and won them the last 2 games. Quit crowning Burrow, it was all his defense. Burrow is a really good QB no denying that, but he wasn’t great these last 2 games. It was 100% due to Bengals defense..
When you leading a game 21 to 3 it’s what that leading team did wrong. Now if this was a back and forth I would see your point. You’re not suppose to lose up 21 to 3 and should’ve been 28 to 3. Not to mention they only scored 3 points in the entire 2nd half.
Issue was everything they did wrong is what kept Cincy around to do things right. It's what Andy does. He gets a lead and then let's people back in. Usually Mahomes makes up for it but this time he didn't and it's glaring.
@@Matt-cr4vv we did everything right in the 2nd half we adjusted defensively dropping 8 and made plays offensively and now chiefs will take a backseat just a little bit
The issue with Mahomes is that he tries too hard to live up to the "Mahomes" hype. He's been put on the QB pedestal and he's trying to live up to that instead of just playing the QB position
That's the gift and the curse of supremely talented generational athletes like Mahomes, when they feel like superman and feel invincible that's where monumental mistakes normally happens. At least he won a super bowl already and I'm sure he and the Kansas City Chiefs will win a few more in the next 5 years.
Yea mahomes at least until 30 is going to be cocky. The AFC qbs are coming and I think he got cocky and started wanting to beat them personally than winning the game.
He took the blame in his press conference. The blame will come in time. This was supposed to be a dynasty and clearly it’s not. As the off-season progresses the blame will increase especially since he was supposed to be the next 🐐, now that should definitely be in question cuz there’s no guarantee he wins another one let alone 3 more 4 more etc. football is hard.

I knew Pat was rattled when he forgot he had a no timeouts in that final play before halftime. Looks like Bengals saw they had him rattled too then the rest was history…including the Chiefs.
Gotta say, I usually can't stand Skip. But he was speaking the hard truth about Mahomes and Andy Reid in this one. Also wish they gave Cincy more credit, but the Chiefs choking is obviously the more lucrative headline
The play where burrow escape like 2 huge pass rushers which I believe was on 3rd and 7, all four of his receivers were held on by the chiefs’ DBs and no flag was thrown. Refs be on their knees for Mahomes and the chiefs. Smh. Thank goodness burrow got the first down.
Yep, this has been the chiefs for awhile, and I've noticed it, I watch all of their game this year, (I'm a cardinals fan and chiefs supporter) When they get ahead, they get complacent and barely try, but when they get down, thats when there dangerous. And that's why they are not the dynasty team people though they were.
Unc I am one of those fans in Kansas City that you spoke of in disbelief, this has to be the most colossal team collapse I’ve ever seen. I knew when we got greedy on the goal line and came away without those three points I knew we were in trouble. Man I’m still in shock!
Yup, everyone talks about mahomes choking, and not how the Bengals adjusted their defense. Especially changing a three man rush in the first half to a four man rush in the second half. The defense and the d line is what caused mahomes to fall apart.
That last play by Mahomes was out of The Twilight Zone,he nearly ran the game clock to zero, needed to play the team game. Very impressed by Burrow and the Bengals DT,they hit really hard and proved how good they were by stopping the Chiefs in OT when the Chiefs had the coin toss.
Rodgers has in the past, but Rodgers didn't choke this year, before the game turned into an ice game the second half, packers were not having problems driving. That player at the end of the half cutting in instead of running straight cost them going up 14-0 at half. Either way, special teams ultimately lost it, missing field goals, getting the punt blocked.
@@thecensoredmuscle563 you’re right but Rodgers being as great as he is shouldn’t have let it be that close. If the special teams did their job packers win yet Rodgers deserves a fair bit of responsibility for not playing to standard. An understated reason why they lost is Dillon got injured, if they had his running game in that weather in the 2nd half no doubt they win.
Pat got humbled these playoffs and it brought me nothing but pure laughter 🤣😁🤣💀 For those of you saying "he'll be back next year" 👀 Your aware of the fact that this year just started right ? Let's stay relevant here. He's watching from the couch like us.
Mahomes thinking " Damn Brady just retired and now I got to deal with this man the next 10 years. Mahomes makes cool looking plays but sometimes simple is the way to go. With Allen , Jackson, Herbert and Burrrow in his conference, 3 SB might be out of reach. 2 or 3 of those Qbs could win multiple SBs. I thought it was rediculous when some were comparing him to Brady after one ring. Casuals.
Everyone is giving all the credit to Joe Burrow. Let's give some credit also to Tee Higgins. He made some great hand catches that could have been easily dropped with the defender all over him. He made about 3 of those. He's got unbelievable hands.
People keep talking about that play at the end of the first half when they should be talking about why did Andy Reid abandon Mckinnon who was a part of why the offense was flowing in the beginning. McKinnon offers more than Clyde
Nick Wright called Pat Mahomes Lebron James in his prime. I agree. This was his 2011 Dallas Mavericks moment. Up 21-3. Didnt score in the second half. AND thrown the INT to lose the game. This is on him.....
With social media flooding with Jimmy hate, you can forget that the choke job performed by the Chiefs and Mahomes was a MILLION times worse. The 49ers were 3-5 and made it to the NFC Champ. Game. They weren't supposed to make it this far. And, they were very close to beating a better rams team. The Rams should have blown out the 49ers but they barely won by three. The Chiefs were at HOME, with the greatest qb ever, with cheat codes in Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce against a young Bengals team who hadn't played in the AFC Championship game since 1989 and they blew an 18 point lead. 😂
@@rjjackson2545 I don't think he's the greatest, Tom is. However, many analysts, such as Nick Wright, Max Kellerman, Shannon Sharpe, etc... call him the best player right now and the most talented qb that they've ever seen. Obviously Tom has the most accomplishents but they think Mahomes has a higher ceiling in terms of talent/ skill. My point was that they have a great qb, unbelievable weapons with Hill and Kelce, they were at home and they blew an 18 point lead to a really young team who hadn't been to an AFC Championship game since 1989. It probably got overshadowed on social media because there are too many people with a deep hatred for Jimmy, it's incredible.
Same way the Chiefs loss to the Bengals, is the same way we (Browns) loss to the Chiefs. We had a chance to get a field goal or a TD before the half, penalty and a sack cost us. Then Chiefs roar back in the 2nd half. Game was loss when we failed to improve our lead before the half though. When you're up against playoff quality teams, you can't leave points on the table..
The way they are shocked about the Chiefs shows how much of a underdog the Bengals are. They deserve everything coming there way a deserve to be in the Super Bowl. Who Dey🧡
Couldn't believe the late game moments where Mahomes just started running around with the football... Not anywhere in particular, just kinda running around.
Fantastic combination......Shannon and Skip. The best. And why? Because they respect each other and each tries to help the other become better. Teamwork.
Nobody talking about Mahomes collapse at end of regulation- OMG!! The dude gets sacked back to back plays when 2nd and goal from the 4 and fumbles after sack 3rd and goal- lucky to have it recovered.
Facts. He's been the media darling and while he shakes the hands of Allen and burrow he wants to destroy them. I saw a guy who uncharacteristically wanted to pour it on with TDs and escape plays than smart efficient qb play. People blame Reid but forget Mahomes has manning and Brady near control where he can check out of plays. Instead of running up the gut he elected for a fancy screen play to get 4 tds which ended up losing them points.
Well the majority of people didn't think the Bengals would get THIS far this year, I honestly thought Tennessee would beat them and would face the Chiefs/Bills.
Before the season started I said I got Bengals winnin it all next year but I gotta say I ain't mad they a year early and I'm Bama fan Roll Tide till I die but when I seen Joe borrow transferred to LSU I said oh man we in trouble and then his junior year when they actually won the championship I said man this dude is going to be literally the best quarterback I've ever seen play in my life and I'm 27 years old I'd like to think I've seen a lot of great quarterbacks but it doesn't get no better than Joey B for real at all just have to recognize talent game and heart and Joe has all of that
The Bengals offense was amazing. However, chiefs defense lost the game. They should have adjusted. 21-3 should have been enough. I cheered for the Bengals though and made 💰.
The difference between first half and second half was pressure. Chiefs got pressure on Bengals and Bengals did not get pressure on chiefs. Then second half Bengals got pressure on chiefs but chiefs barely got pressure on Bengals.
This was a TOTAL Team collapse. The defense had 2-4 sacks where burrow got away for crucial first downs, Andy didn’t kick the field goal to help with points, Mahomes made stupid throws. They lost as a team.
I expect this of the Chiefs, that’s why I didn’t trust them down the stretch. They’re a good team, no doubt, but as we’ve seen, they find themselves too much in situations where crucial decisions can make or a break a game. They’ve got a good offense, but need to develop a strategy to use it more efficiently; you have to have more options than just Kelce, Hill, or Hardman that you can dependently rely on. Then there’s the defense, and its self-explanatory about the work that needs to be done there. Lastly, we have to address their coaching woes, and how too much emphasis is placed on trying to be different and maverick. That just doesn’t work or should be done in the most crucial points of a game, take what’s there and play conventionally, because that is what makes consistency. If the Chiefs want to be in the hunt for the foreseeable future they’ve got to make better decisions on all fronts, because teams have figured them out.
Ok, I'm wicked I know, but this is the first feel better news I've had since Tampa's loss. I know, I know, not sportsman like to be relieved someone loses.
Bengals already beat them once this month and also held them to 3 points in the 2nd half. Not sure why everyone is so surprised. It just happened a few weeks ago

It was actually 3rd down, not 4th. That's why Mahomes tried to call a timeout...That he didn't have.

This is really top analysis
This game was almost as unreal as last weeks
Rodgers CHOCKED and everybody was calling him out deservingly so, people should do the same for Mahomes 2nd half was atrocious
Mahomes lost that game for one reason: hubris. Mahomes held onto the ball too long because he wanted ALL the big plays for himself.
