    What is all this double talk, in his first year as a starter, every week the talking heads would throw up another challenge to Mahomes. If the Chiefs jump out to a big lead and win handily, they say can he come from behind or how will he react after throwing an interception, or getting sacked, hit hard, or losing a game, having a tough game when he isn't on his best game. He has answered all those questions multiple times. Now you complainers are on him about not playing that great in basically the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Well he answered that very well in the last 8-9 minutes in the 4th quarter. What an amazing turn around for the SB 54 victory. This Kid AND this CHIEFS team get knocked down and keep getting back up refusing to lose. That should be the Headlines of this year.

      And in fairness, while Mahomes wasn't having a great first 3 quarters throwing, he made some other big plays and made a big difference on the ground. People that have gone at Mahomes for the first 3 quarters seem to be forgetting that they were playing against one of the Top pass defenses in the league and probably the best zone defense. The Superbowl is meant to be the toughest game you play all season, so for someone to make more errors in that game is not unusual thing because you are playing the best team from the other conference.

    Does nobody realize that nick bosa was having the best super bowl as a pass rusher since vin miller for the niners where he pressured, sacked or hit mahomes on 30% of pass plays. To me it’s so impressive that mahomes overcame that. Most other quarterbacks would play poorly all 4 quarters and lose the game faced with that.

Also, folks forget how Brady played when he was under that type of pressure against the Giants (both times). So instead of folks harping on the fact that he threw a few picks, they should really appreciate how he adjusted to the pass rush and made critical plays in the most clutch moments to win the game.

      @@chrisdidonna7371 Well, some folks forget that when Brady played against a defense the likes of the 2019 49ers, he could not do much of anything. For example, in 2007, he played against the Giants and that pass rush ate him alive. Then in 2011, he played against the Giants, and again that pass rush overwhelmed him. In short, as much we praise Brady, it is hard to confidently say that he could have mounted the comeback that Mahomes just pulled off.

      @mattnorris7124 4 года назад

      See, the thing that a lot of people seem to forget is that when you play in the Superbowl, it's meant to be the hardest game you have played all season. The likelihood of you making more errors than usual is so much higher than in a normal regular season game because you're playing the best team from the other conference with all the chips down, they've had 2 weeks to prepare for you and considering that SF have possibly the best pass rush in the league, it should have been expected that Mahomes would have more errors against them than he is typically used to.
      Despite him not being as accurate as usual, he made big plays on the ground and was mentally strong enough to stick it out, pick his team up and go win the game despite being down in the 4th by 10. And let's be honest, his 2nd interception was pretty unfortunate with where it landed after hitting Hill's hands, probably 8 times out of 10 that hits the ground incomplete.

    Honestly it annoys me how they talk about it like all of it was Pat Mahomes, I mean the d was so clutch in all three of those comebacks. yet you never see titles like "chiefs have top 3 superbowl runs of all time"

    Yeah Mahomes is up there with the best and the crazy part is some of his best plays was runs if he can use them legs to go along with the cannon he’s going be here for a long time

    Mangini needs to remember that Mahomes first year as a starter he didn't go to a SB because of Brady, he didn't go to a SB because of Dee Ford.

    Mangini will never give Mahomes the credit because Mahomes is the closest quarterback that we've seen yet that can challenge Brady's legacy. It's gotten to the point where his arguments against Mahomes is becoming inconsistent. Brady leads his team to a comeback victory over the falcons in the Superbowl, it's a part of his charm. Mahomes does it, it is a problem that needs to be solved by the coaching staff

    Eddie George got it right, Patrick Mahomes just posted the greatest postseason run of all time. First, he overcame a 24 point lead to the Texans, who have the best raw receiver in football. Then, he overcame a 10 point lead to the Titans, who have the best RB in football. And lastly, he overcame a 4th quarter 10 point deficit to 49ers, who arguably had the best defense in football. So, what more needs to be said?
    Say what you will, but throughout the 2019 postseason, KC gave each of their opponents the scenarios they wanted. Effectively, these teams could not ask for better advantages, and they really had no excuses for losing. As such, it becomes an impossible task to not declare this 2019 postseason run by Patrick Mahomes as the greatest the sport has ever seen.

    Mangini is forgetting that he was also playing against the 2 best defenses he’s ever played against and the 2 best defensive coaches hes played against in Bellicheck and Saleh (who should be a head coach). He had to feel it out but he figured them out and did his thing. This year capping it off with a SB win.

    It's like they (ESPN) try to find these insane and stupidly inaccurate takes (Mangini) just to be "hot take central." I'd say that Wright is right and quite accurate on his take about how when you come from a really pedestrian game and rise to overcome against the odds and with very little time on the clock (mid 4th quarter), it makes it much more impressive. I was literally amazed.
