What's really crazy about this play is that Mahomes conservatively threw that ball 56 yards to the front of that open zone. He said in an interview that he underthrew it. If he put 15 more yards in the throw, it would have been an easy touchdown.
I wish he showed the play on first down right before the Sammy watkins play. They lined up Tyreek on Sherm, they saw that jimmy ward is going for Tyreek, they knew that Watkins gonna be on an island from that. Second down, switched Tyreek and Watkins and there you go.

Yeah, but... when Chris says he's never seen another team who could come back like that. Eh... Patriots against the Falcons in SB 51? How about Frank Reich and the Bills coming back against Houston in 1993? Then there was the gem with Payton Manning scoring 3 times in 4 minutes against Tampa in 2003. Montana could probably pull this off as well. And what about the Favre/Sterling Sharpe era? There's an arm and a speedster to match Mahomes/Hill.

Two things you missed with the first play. 1. Patty had no check down - it wasn't even an option or something that crossed his mind. He made the throw to Tyreek before Tyreek even hit the break. Unless that pass rush can get there to break things up, if the play goes beyond 3-4 seconds, you're going to have a problem down field. That was absolutely fantastic analysis. Overheard right after the game by local radio reporter was Williams explaining that he mighta cut back but Sherman told him coming out of the huddle, "Follow me." Seemed legit to me.

Hey Chris that is the best take on the Andy Reid's offense in the super bowl that is out there. I am a novice but you nailed it. No excuses for anybody just down to earth facts. All in All was a great game. Love your perspective on the game.
Great segment Chris. Stuff I haven’t seen or heard. I kinda thought the long pass to Tyreek was a broken play. You’re right about Reid attacking the rules, but the play took so long, I guess I haven’t seen any designed plays of that nature (course this is Any Reid!).Thing I’ve noticed about Hill, IMO he’s next smartest football savvy player on the team next to Mahomes. A broken play? Your analysis is brilliant and makes sense. But plays that take that long to develop are usually improvised.
Did I miss where you actually saw Mahomes had asked for Wasp?! That play was called for by Mahomes. Hill was exactly where he was supposed to be. He only breaks outside once the safety turns to run with him and he catches the safety off guard and runs out instead of continuing to run in. That play is called Wasp and Mahomes asked to run it but it takes over four seconds to get Hill open. So Mahomes dropped 14 yards to have enough time to throw it where Hill would be, not where he was. That's a Franchise QB, not a good QB. That's Brady sh!t.
Lamar is talented and Baltimore has a lot going for them, but...as we've seen in the playoffs, you have to have an offense that can strike fast. If not, you're simply not going to win. 10-13 play drives don't a get it done when you're behind in the playoffs and time is not your friend.
@@tomhood7343 --Lamar's body language in the playoffs was horrible. Once they were behind, he was emitting frustration and defeat. And this was happening early in the game. It was like he didn't know what to do when he encountered an opponent that wasn't intimidated by his dance moves. Compare that to Mahomes, down double digits in all the playoff games including the super bowl: he was pumping up his teammates, saying: "Let's do it. Let's go. Let's do something special!." The difference in the leadership and confidence was night and day. Lamar can certainly learn and grow...but he's not there yet.
Of course I'm a homer, but what a fantastic play/gameswing evaluation gentlemen. Great counters and additions to each other's points. Good team analysation.
It took a while for the defense to be able execute Spag's defensive scheme . They definitely peaked at the right time. Until the Chargers game in Mexico the defense was ranked 27th. By Superbowl time they elevated to 17th
Who cares whether Brady and Patriots erased a bigger deficit against Atlanta...or the Frank Reich comeback many years ago? NO TEAM in history has erased a 24-0, and two 10 point deficits in 3 consecutive playoff games to win the SB! Chiefs 2019 team - LEGENDARY on both offence and D. What neither the vaunted Patriots D nor the always tough Ravens D could do (stop Derrick Henry), the Chiefs D DID! After what Raheem Mostert did to Green Bay, guess what? Chiefs D stopped him as well. As for # 15, what more really can be or needs to be said? Greatest QB when it comes to all- around talent ever. I listened to Skip Bayless call the 3rd and 15 a luck play and no matter what Shannon Sharpe tried to counter he wasn't having it. Mahomes dropped back about 11 yards deep with pressure coming and off his back foot he just had to have the arm strength to pop it out there. It's not an accurracy thing but a strength thing since it's a voided area no one could of hit in that position. I feel for the defender who immediately starts taking the blame. @Any One It was a 2 score lead not insurmountable at all. Pats were down three scores and needed two two point conversion just to tie it and only had pretty much one quarter to do it. Then had to go into OT and score again. They scored 31 unanswered points since the 2 minute mark in quarter three. FAR more impressive then 10 point comeback. I mean you have to be kidding right?

This is easily some of the best analysis I've seen regarding this game. Nicely done NBC Sports. Now just get rid of Pierre McGuire and you'll be the G.O.A.T.
Great breakdown fellas. Chiefs' FB #42, Anthony known here in KC as "The Sausage" put on a nice block to break Williams. Overheard right after the game by local radio reporter was Williams explaining that he mighta cut back but Sherman told him coming out of the huddle, "Follow me." Seemed legit to me.
best analysis going...please keep these guys on
I was watching the Chiefs game at some friends house. They had an outdoor patio with a fire pit.
When Mahomes threw that interception, i took my Mahomes Mahomes Jersey off, sais im sacrificing my Mahomes jersey to the the football Gods, threw the jersey into the fire pit.
It changed our luck, football Gods responded.
Unfortunately i can never buy or wear another Mahomes jersey as part of the deal i made with the football Gods .
All I can say is!!! WOW. CONGRATULATIONS KC. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING.
Continues to be one of my favorite pieces of football analysis ever. Just excellent
Just the best. Love this show because of those guys...
They forgot to mention that Mahomes was the one that suggested they run the play that led them to that huge gain
It was an amazing superbbowl for kc
The CB on the first play followed his rules be he had not been told that the rules don't apply to the combo of Reid/Mahomes/Hill. There is no right answer.
Thank you guys for the analysis! My football career ended in little league so never got exposure to Advanced Topics. Really cool to see why this stuff works.
Great analysis of the nightmare that will haunt me for some time. That 3rd and 15 is when I thought we had em.
Nico Nesta As a Chiefs fan, I’ve been on your side of this more times than I can count. I feel ya, bud✌️
That 3rd and 15 took the life out of the 49ers
Great quote of 9er sideline"what just happened?"
Lore has it that the Williams TD was supposed to be an inside run and FB Anthony Sherman told Williams in the huddle to “just follow me” and he blocked outside.
Lol refs gave them that game
Donald Campbell sure, dumbass. And the refs were out there screwing up coverage on defense and making terrible throws on offense....
Weak ass idiot fans
@@donaldcampbell9483 lol u say the same thing in almost every comment section. Seriously go give the phone back to mom, little whiny kids don't belong here.

Fabulous analysis
"He's conscious of the guy with three rockets up his butt..." fantastic line
The Era of Mahomes has begun, he won’t be like Rodgers he will win another
ENDEAVOR RADIO CONTROL still won a ring though and MVP. Sorry pussy
ENDEAVOR RADIO CONTROL keep that same energy next year and even after lol
@ENDEAVOR RADIO CONTROL mahomes made the plays to win lmao
@ENDEAVOR RADIO CONTROL all that junk is, is an excuse. Every year yall like to tear away from a player. Winning teams never play perfect. Ever.
I loved the explanations. Many thanks guys!!!
very good breakdown of the plays. Thank you Chris
They've run that play before with success like this one. It's a run inside and go out play.
I'm shocked SF didn't study that play.
Chris says it so nonchalantly, “that’s why he’s the best player in the league.” He says it as if it was just common knowledge.
It is ? Lmao
Very nice. Entertaining and educational. Thanks
SICK analysis
Great analysis. Especially because I don't know the jargon. But I followed you totally. Thanks.
fantastic analysis guys! Go Chiefs. I've been hoping all my life that I'd get to see the chiefs win a superbowl! I was so excited when I saw that play come together!
These two plays that Mahomes made is the reason why he got the MVP. In live action when the game is on the line, making those kind of throws....I mean come on nonbelievers the guy is a baller. I love it and cant wait to see how Mahomes develop over next few years. He hasnt even peaked yet!!
Great analysis. I live for this.
Best analysis break down on RUclips. Any teams need a coach?
Chris Simms bringing 🔥🔥🔥
Hey Chris that is the best take on the Andy Reid's offense in the super bowl that is out there. I am a novice but you nailed it. No excuses for anybody just down to earth facts. All in All was a great game. Love your perspective on the game.
This is why guys like Simms and Romo are one of the best Football reporters/commentators out there
Great segment Chris.
Nobody want to say the chiefs were just better.
FALSE, THEY WERE BETTER IN THE 4TH
Yes, that's when the game normally ends.
Hiram Rosa Jr and the 1st quarter too
@@hiramrosajr8231 Yeah that's when the game MATTERS the most.
With a lot of help from the refs
Solid, but how can you not have the actual video. I wish they used pause/play instead of using still pictures.
This content is pure gold. 👍
Wow !....football 101.....much more complicated that I ever imagined
Beautiful analysis. Sometimes people just make great plays and there's not much you can do.
Seriously very good analysis in this video clip.
Patrick says “ Do we have enough time to run wasp? Bienemy: “ Do you want to run wasp?”
It will be interesting to see what new plays will be drawn up for next year..
Sorry Lamar you don't have this pass talent!!!
Excatly and people would say he is better than mahomes just shows u that passing the ball is better than scrambling with it
Lamar is talented and Baltimore has a lot going for them, but...as we've seen in the playoffs, you have to have an offense that can strike fast. If not, you're simply not going to win. 10-13 play drives don't a get it done when you're behind in the playoffs and time is not your friend.
True. Not even close! Lamar would be pouting on the sidelines at this point in the game.
@@tomhood7343 At least he (Lamar) is not Brady throwing a temper tantrum and cussing out his teammates
So how much more amazing is it that we now know that Mahomes, not Reid (nor Bienemy), is the one who "called" 23 Jet Chip Wasp?
Of course I'm a homer, but what a fantastic play/gameswing evaluation gentlemen. Great counters and additions to each other's points. Good team analysation.
Great. Please do these throws all season next year.
Chiefs defense gets no respect but they are very good as well.
It took a while for the defense to be able execute Spag's defensive scheme . They definitely peaked at the right time. Until the Chargers game in Mexico the defense was ranked 27th. By Superbowl time they elevated to 17th
Every team will have to be mindful that at any point the Chiefs can storm back and make your defense look bad. They are that lethal.
Wow, that was great guys!
He’s Favre, Staubach, Rogers, Montana, Young and Wilson all wrapped up in one total package. How bout those CHIIEEEFFFFSSSS!
That Wasp play was like Emeril kicking it up a notch... bam..bbam..bam.
Chiefs first SB famous play was 65 Toss Power Trap, their 2nd SB famous play 2-3 Jet Chip Wasp.
Buster Bellm way to matriculate the ball down the field...boys!!!
@@Dmoneyaka Mahomes on the side line, " Do we have time for the wasp?" meaning does he have time in the pocket, on the play he dropped back 14 yards, and threw the ball 50+ yards on his back foot.
Buster Bellm I watched turning point film as well. Ok? I was being funny and quoting Hank Stram
Andy Reid finally got his ring. I'm sure there will be a few more.
Yeah, the NFL will make sure of it..
@@CaptnCrunch247 so how many millions of dollars have you won since you know the NFL is rigged you should be a millionaire. I'm going out on a limb and calling you a 9ers fan. You can say you're not but you know you are

@@thehighlight843 You're talking like SB wins comes in 3's or 4's! Odds are due to parity they won't win another
@@thehighlight843 - None of what you said changes the fact that you owe it all to Rodger Goodell..
Be better if after the intro run a bit of film. Would be cool to see the reel after the BDA
Can we have Trent Dilfer explain those 3 plays? Asking for a friend of Mancini!
Niners got stung by the Wasp, that's what KC calls that specific play
BANG BANG WHINER GANG!
Sometimes it's great defense that stops great offense and sometimes it's the opposite. Love the analysis of this play.
Thank you guys for an awesome explanation ----
Although during all the excitement of the game we were all asking ... how in the heck did Mahomes pull that off.
This will be one of the most memorable Super Bowls foe a long time.
What a comeback against a great defense!!!
GO CHIEFS ....
I mean its not like they came back down by 25 with 3:00 left in the third quarter or anything lol
They Came back and won it :-)
@@JidoAZ Just saying patriots 28-3 comeback at the end of the 3rd quarter was a little more memorable if you ask me lol
@@xmxh9596 Keep living in the past, it's all you've got now.
Pat called the play
Just beautiful. Love this.
Just watched Super Bowl LIV Mic'd Up. On the 3rd and 15 play, why did Fred Warner tell Jimmie Ward to "...stay in the middle of the field, no matter what"?
Chiefs Chiefs Chiefs!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥💪
