I got a response on a comment that I won something? I’m pretty sure it is a scam so could this channel confirm this for me please?
@@MidnightWolfSDJ they talked about that multiple times already
@@jamesbuchananbarnesss talked about what?
@@MidnightWolfSDJ about those comments and the scam
In that opening. If they ended the scene with that woman saying "bomb the city and everyone in it" we would've thought "cool opening from that heartless scientist".
The fact they added her crying and wanting to be with her family really elevates the scene, humanises her, and shows that she wasn't taking the circumstances lightly...Great scene.
It's the little choices like those that I think made the show and elevates it from just being some zombie show
If anyone was still doubting after last week, their doubts should be gone by this week. This show is consistently making the right decisions on when to change things and when to directly adapt it frame for frame and line for line from the game. The acting is on point, the cinematography is on point, Joel and Ellie feel like Joel and Ellie, the music is great, the clickers are PERFECT, and there's so many little nods to the game like when Joel tips up the bookcase that had been holding the door.
And the bandage nod when he gave it to ellie to patch up
The changes to infected being sort of a hive mind is so creepy and terrifying.
Well the internet started the doubts but I get what you're saying
@@DeadlyBeast205 the internet always starts things it has no business starting lmao
@@ladrac198 true lol
Been seeing a lot of people thinking that the kiss was weird, and it was, but it gave me the sensation that Neil and Craig wanted to show that the infected weren't killing for the sake of violence, instead the fungi was just trying to survive (even if it meant outliving us).
In a way it also ties into the start of episode 1, "...there are some fungi who seek not to kill, but to control." I think the kiss scene is a literal representation of that line. You see the fungi start to take control of Tess but she fights it long enough to light the flame. That's just my pov on that scene.
Tess’ death scene with infected instead of the military was definitely poetic and a great way to visually show the gamers and non gamers how their switch from spores to “hive mind” is…a game changer.
time to change joel's death then...
Just in case you guys didn't know, after the credits, they do an 'inside the episode.' The director explains briefly why they didn't do the spores. Also, the actors playing the clickers are fans of the game. That's how they were able to get the movements down so perfectly.
No more spores
But ellie is inmune
Im not trying to be rude but the clickers were cgi
@@notBrocker they weren’t tho lmao. There were obviously some cgi touch ups but it’s 99% practical effects
@@StaleBread nah yeah my bad
But some scenes were fully cgi yet it looked great but yeah ur right
They do what? An inside the episode?
Ok good to know 😂
The change to Tess’s death was morbidly beautiful. What an adaptation.
I understand the changes and I actually like the changes they have made but the Tess death to me personally wasn’t a change I liked. It felt weird and didn’t resonate with me. But that’s my thoughts
@@hackergaming1651 duly noted and we don't care Lol.
@@hackergaming1651 I agree (in a sense) because my biggest problem with the scene is 1. The Acting & 2. The Dialogue. They both just fell short in comparison to the Game and unfortunately I couldn't watch the scene with a fresh pair of eyes but hopefully the scene resonated more with newer fans
@@ray24051 Don't be a dick, He respectfully gave his opinion.
@@ray24051 no one asked for your bullshit comment either bud. They are allowed to give their fucking opinion and aren’t even shitting on the show. Honestly the change was disgusting and something only a man would do 🤡 like why do we have to sexually assault every woman on screen
The sound design in this was actually insane. Held my breath for an unhealthy amount of time during that Clicker scene...
No kidding. This is a show best watched with headphones (or in your Dolby atmos theater lol)
Agreed, this show has so far kept me on the edge of my seat. My heart was actually racing throughout the outbreak scene of the first episode. It’s crazy how well crafted the tension is in the show.

I love how this show feels like a real show and not just fan service
Too me it dose not feel like a tv show. It’s more of clips from a movie and that’s fine because the game felt like a movie as well. Where Walking Dead is made to draw the plot out over multiple episodes this show is running through it all pretty quick. I wish the episodes would be longer this one felt very quick but I guess when a shows really good time will fly by.
Is there even a possible way of making a last of us show that’s fan servicey?
I mean for me it's fan service that they basically telling the same story and use similar dialogue because the game is wonderful 😅
But for people who doesn't know the story I guess it feels pretty great, too.
@@ryans413 Yet there is continuity in every scene. So your comment doesn’t hold up.
they did it both ways perfectly
I love how they potrayed Indonesia here, it almost so perfectly done. And also shoutout to Christine Hakim the cast of Bu Ratna, she's an amazing actress from Indonesia, she's slayed the role! 🔥
That twist with the infected being connected via a mycelium network is interesting, it feels like something they would have loved to have included in the game but it was probably too technically difficult to achieve
Neil did say alot of content they cut from the game will be in the show
The hive-mind/tendril ideas were both Craig Masons, and Neil Druckman said on the podcast that he would have loved to have come up with them himself.
I think the change from spores to tendrils actually makes for a much more sensible adaptational choice for a live action show, I think it’s a great change
Its not tendrils its hypha/mycelium! :( (semantics i know)
@@Ghilannugs Ah, fair enough :)
I love how they portrayed the clickers. They're definitely as terrifying as they were in the game I love how they sound identical to the game granted the clickers along with the locations was most likely the easiest thing to bring to live action
They actually used the same two people who do the vocals for the clickers😃
They brought in the voice actors that did the clicker noises in the games back for this show.
It is just like the game
"Most likely the easiest"
Somebody can have an entire auditorium of unreclined seats in an AMC
This show was filmed in Edmonton and Calgary Alberta Canada! The end of the episode is the Legislature building in edmonton
The scene with him changing out the bullets in his gun... that was perfection. Just like in the game... you know any second a clicker could be on you and you need to reload.
Man, I’m in love with everything this show is bringing. THIS is how you adapt a story. Perfection. Thank you HBO!
Craig Mazin is a genius.
It’s very VERY good, but “Expanse” and “The Boys” are superior adaptations
@@hellfish2309 oh here we go, this is better than that, that is worse than this. This piece stands alone its nothing like the Expanse or The Boys. Youre comparing bananas with apples. Its like saying Game of Thrones is better than House of Cards
@@uskok4636 this show is very faithful, but of course is it because Druckman is on it too; “Expanse” and “The Boys” both adapt AND vastly improve their storytelling from their source material; each season of the “Expanse” is successfully like a different genre, and “The Boys” original source material really wasn’t that good but the show sharpens both its satire and its character work
so the reason I argue “Expanse” and “The Boys” are better adaptations is because the stories are actually better for having been made by the adaptors; this show is very very good, which is nothing to complain about but isn’t better than the game… so no I’m not comparing apples to bananas, but rather apples to apple pies; this show is a very good caramel apple, but if I’m judging it as an apple pie (because the subject at hand is adaptation), then there are better ones out there
even what they did with tess?
I like that Tess' (changed) death also ties back to the beginning of the episode where the scientist told the general to use bomb.
Anna Torv on the rooftop was so good. If you played the game you know she's bitten at that point--and if you're watching it for the first time you'll get it in retrospect. But this thing where she is hiding the infection from Joel but subtly letting the audience read her distress and getting what it was. And beside her, Pedro Pascal's body language indicating thaat he knows something has shaken her, but he's learned when not to pry with her, and he doesn't want to consider that possibility--that it must be something else. Two actors imbuing simple dialogue and action with huge layers of subtext with amazing subtlety. And once Joel crosses the plank, you can sense her desperation rising. I'm in awe.
My favorite thing about Ellie getting bitten for a second time is that they took the spores scene when they were in the subway, the "How are you breathing in all this stuff?!" and she basically said "I told you so" and turned it into concrete evidence for the show. What they're doing with this adaptation is stunning, beautiful, and engaging for people like us that have played the games.
The ending adaptation was incredible. When Tess tell’s Joel she’s never asked him to feel the way she felt. Then Joel leaves without a hug and she just stands there and gets the “kiss” of death by the infected when it should’ve been the kiss from Joel. Blew my mind
If Joel kissed her it would've probably killed him
@Person Man and that's in many ways even more sad. Any sharing of feelings could lead to death, they're doomed no matter what.
@@personman1148 That’s the beautiful dramatic irony of it.
I was so hype when the clickers appeared the special effect makeup designer's for the show really did an amazing job bringing them to life like they were as terrifying as they are in the game.
And if you watch the making of this episode they hired fans of the games to dress up as the Clickers reacting the movements and sounds 🔥🔥🔥
@@supertrendymoneymaker0722 That made sure that the made it even more authentic
I said to myself “if they ruin Tess’ death or the clickers then I’m not watching the show” but BOY was I wrong. Loved the episode.
The actress in the opening is Christine Hakim. Shes a veteran actress from Indonesia. She serves incredible performance here
It’s really difficult to not fall madly in love with Pedro. He does this role so well.
Scott, I have a proper man crush on him. He is just a cool guy.
YES, dude is amazing 💯👑
This episode was short but sweet. Hats off to Neil. Very tense and loved how they were able to make the Clickers more unsettling then they already were 💯
It wasn’t all that short. It was nearly a whole-ass hour. It goes fast because it’s so good.
This episode Makes any infected or zombie like thing in other shows look like a complete joke. Truly terrifying.
@@redbaron8130 Yup we are talking to you Walking Dead! This was way more of a pandemic 😷 and wasteland than the entire Walking Dead Series combined!!!
It’s a 53 min episode that’s longer than a standard length of a TV show which is around 42 mins. It feels so short cause it flies by! That’s a testament to just how damn good the episode is!
Pilot felt longer because they combined their original first two episodes into one. They planned on ending right after the 20 year timeskip but HBO felt that was too morbid and not enticing enough so they extended it to include Ellie's introduction and the start of their journey.
What a directorial debut for Neil Druckmann. Man nailed it. This show proves that making a faithful adaptation isn’t impossible when the people making it and involved in it all love the source material, and having Neil the creator of the source material is just the cherry on top.
Still have no idea how they filmed the city scenes, shit looks ridiculously real
As an Indonesia, it's good to see our senior actors took part in this show. I can say that their dialogues were perfect.
They are superb
My mom and I were extras in the restaurant scene! Such an awesome experience!
Awesome!
Found myself wishing the episode was longer! RIP Tess, I love that we got to see a side of her humanity that is only really hinted at in the game. interesting on the dynamic she and Joel have. It was always hinted that the had feelings for each other, so it was interesting to see more of that especially in Tess' last moments with him.
Side note, but in this version Tess and Joel knew Frank, so if they follow the games a certain scene will hit different. Will probably cry.
We don't see the other non human side of her in this show so her talk about ehat they've done fell pretty flat as great as this ep was.
It was 52 minutes but it’s just edited so we’ll it flew by
Loving This Show Eventhough I Didn't Play The Game... I Have a Question.... So When Did Tess Get Bit
It would be cool if they slipped in a long 2 hour episode along the way.
@@MichaelJones-wb8sk Fighting that clicker she encountered, off screen.
Another great episode. I love how badass they made Tess’s death here. I loved/hated that infected kiss. I loved it because it was so disturbing and I hated it because I’ll never be able to unsee it lol. It was literally a kiss of death lol. Also that fungus based alarm system is insane. 💀
yeah, I agree I lowkey did not like the infected kiss, but it still was a pretty good episode.
Especially stalkers since they attack as soon as they get the chance to jump at you but it just slowly walked up and let the tendrils do their thing
So nasty lol was cringing the whole time, i guess from her perspective it bought time to get the lighter working
I took the kiss as doubling down on the idea that they’re all connected. It looked like her hand was twitching at the end when she showed Joel Ellie’s bite. So the fungus was voluntarily giving her to the infected. The infected didn’t exactly rip her apart. It seemed almost TOO friendly.
Dude the kiss isn’t even a kiss.. it’s just another way/form of spreading the fungal infection…it was literally infecting her, not actually kissing.
To get the clicker noises right, they brought in the voice actors who did the voices for the clickers in the games, like Misty Lee. AND they consulted with Phil Kovats who was the audio lead on the game. He, along with Derrick Espino, composited the audio they recorded to create the clicker noises. And Kovats himself did some voiceover work for the male clickers.
They could have easily just used noise clips from the actual game.
It's not vital to have CLICKS recreated .
@@InnerRise Why put in a sound file from a game that is using decade old recording software? Software that probably sounds fairly different. Like, sure, in the game it sounds just fine, but there would probably be a noticable difference in sound quality compared to the rest of the sound effects of the show.
I took the kiss of death as the fungus in Tess voluntarily giving her to the other infected. Earlier in the scene it looked like her hand was involuntarily twitching when she showed Joel Ellie’s bite. It would also build on the idea that all the infected are connected. I didn’t like or dislike it but saw it as the writers using her death to explain more of how the infected works. They pretty much used Tess as the exposition device the whole episode
It also was the way the old lady spread the tendrils too.
@@m1sh474 really? 🙂
@@InnerRise Yeah if you rewatch that scenes she had the tendrils going through her ear
@@Bori.1776 i actually thought it was her hair when i first watch it
@@InnerRise she bite them first, then went to spread the tendrils to her mouth.
The scene in Jakarta gives me hope that we may get some scenes with Joel and Tommy, after the outbreak, seeing what they had to do to survive and what caused their falling out.
As someone who study’s mycology it’s amazing how they made the mycelia network or as Tess described it as “the wood wide web” a hostile network it makes senses to remove the spores since that’s kind of an impossible thing to look out for realistically and integrate the mycelia network which like the cordyceps fungus is a very real thing. Love the signaling addition they added.
I liked how they handled Tess' death in the show better than in the game. Taking out a bunch of infected seemed much more meaningful of a death than getting capped by fedra agents after taking out 1 or 2 of them(?).
Holy moly you’re fast
That's what she said 😂

That’s what I thought too. Like I just finished and legit started at like 903pm lol
I love how they didn't just do story or character moments, but game mechanics as well. I'm now waiting for Joel to craft a shiv or upgrade a weapon at a work bench.
I was waiting for him to to crouch and use his game sense to see where they were XD
WHat I loved was how Joel showed a tiny bit of emotion when Tess send them off and then she says "Save the ones you can save." And you can see his face harden. Perfect acting.
This isn't just THE best video game adaptation, but it genuinely is one of the best shows of the generation thus far. Like you guys already said, acting, music, production, direction, everything is top tier!
What’s the best video game adaptation in your opinion?
So what is THE best video game adaptation?
@@Shutupmoth read properly
Season should be fully out before we decide it's the best show of the generation, so we can get a judgement for the series as a whole. It's definitely a solid show though and looking to have this potential. It's close to being as good as the Walking Dead at its peak
@@nynedollas7568 Werewolves Within
It’s crazy how many times in the show Bella sounds exactly like Ellie from the game. Anna Torv is the GOAT and played an incredible Tess. This episode has my heart
I think this show is definitely going to win some awards it’s just getting better and better.
Huge congratulations to Neil Drukmann and Craig Mazin for creating a fantastic series so far. Episode 2 was probably one of the best episodes of TV I’ve seen in the last couple years.
Agreed and I really like how they expand on the infected having them being like a hive mind is an interesting idea
@@monsterking1973 yeah it’s a cool way to think how fucked you are instead of spores
Finally someone thanking Craig. Like I don't think people are giving him credit
Apparently episode 3 is considered one of the “finest hours” of television history
Awesome reaction guys! The whole clicker sequence was awesome and intense on another level. Pedro is super badass as Joel and is crushing it. Same with Bella as Ellie and Anna Torv as Tess. Speaking of Tess, her death and sacrifice in the show was even more heartbreaking instead of just getting shot by FEDRA in the game. Also love how when Joel and Tess have their final talk before Tess’s death, Joel didn’t need to say much because Pedro’s facial expressions already says a lot about how he’s feeling which is awesome and shows how incredible Pedro’s range is as an actor. Mother f’n loving this show. Can’t wait to see Bill and Frank next week!
The last scene when it zooms out and its just Ellie standing there in front of the capital when Joel walks away, in contrast where you could see them both together in a couple of scenic shots is like a cool, not sure if intentional, contrast. Like it really shows, in my mind, the relationship of the 1st game, where its a definite back and forth between Joel and Ellie. That for sure hit me this way, as kind of thematic friction between the two for now.
I don't play the game but God damn both episodes have been incredible. I think I have cried and also been terrified multiple times in both episodes.
@DragonBat362isback yea the game looks great and heard amazing things I just was never much of a gamer.
@@kevinmatthew1050 in some regards, I kind of want to see the show with fresh eyes like you.
@@kbrewers I agree. Being attached to the game can hurt some things when they aren’t even bad but we’re emotional creatures so it be like taht
I have been waiting for it to come out on PC, which it does in March, finally!!!. I was torn between waiting for the game,to get the full experience from it, then watch the show. So yeah, I gave in and started watching the show. You can’t blame me, it’s frickin awesome!!!!! And I will probably forget most of it by the time the game arrives.
Good decision?
@@str1xt It's alright to watch the series before because the game and the series have some really big differences so both experiences are quite different. Even tho if it was me I would have played the game first because when you play the game it's a whole different experience because you actually take part in the journey. But, playing the game before or after is not that big of a deal in my opinion.
They’re 2 for 2 on EXCELLENT episodes man, I’ve never had a show have me itch for the next episode the way this one does!
I loved how well this episode meshed in gameplay aspects we're so used to, not just the story elements.
I know we’re only two episodes in, but so far, this is what I call a smart live-action adaptation imo. They made decisions, additions, and changes that works and still make sense, but they never stray too far away from the game at the same time. It also feels more like a passionate project (that sticks to its roots of course) than just making a quick buck with half-assed writing, production, and performances. I mean that's fine if you wanna do that, but never on huge IPs that were already great. More creatives and regimes need to take notes from this.
16:46 Definitely took me back to the Jurassic Park kitchen scene with the velociraptors 🦖
When I heard that the same people who worked on Chernobyl were going to work on TLOU the scene when the plant workers had to drain the tanks at the bottom floor of the plant immediately came to mind. I thought if they can make this scene incredibly nerve racking imagine what they could do with the clickers. Even though I played the game and knew how it would go I was somehow even MORE terrified than when I played the game!
As for Tess’ ending, I think it was actually done better than the game. The scene of the mycelium (the fungal threads) going into her mouth was incredibly disgusting but the look in her eye when it happened showed that even though she was about to turn into one of them she managed used that iron will of hers to force herself through those last seconds before turning to burn them all. Stand and applaud for Anna Torv everyone!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
So the Easter egg from this episode really put a perspective from the first one. They say that you can get this bacteria fungi disease from flour and in the first episode you seen Joe and Sarah stay away from it especially when Tommy was cooking pancakes. They was eating cereal at the table also the neighbor offering them biscuits but they turned it down. When you seen later in the day the she offer her a cookie but you never seen Sara eating it. That little key thing really making this show amazing. Tess death feels more gut-wrenching than the video game because they really didn't have a stronger character built for her but in this series it truly was devastating and I really like the changing especially with the affected instead of the soldiers.
Anna Torv...you will be remembered for the class you brought to this show....bravo 👏👏👏
when ellie grunted climbing over the car in the bridge scene it totally sounded like one of ellie's grunts from the game, so weird, so funny, so much attentention to detail for the little things.
Props to you guys and your team for being able to produce, edit and post all of this so quickly! That takes real dedication
I'm loving these cold opens. The actress playing the scientist did a phenomenal job. As did Neil Druckmann! Look at that. Turns out when you direct great actors in great scenes, it's not that big a stretch to think you can do it again.
Loving you two just representing everybody that's played the game. Having those moments of like, "Holy shit, it's Ellie and Joel." Hiding from Clickers, having awkward interactions, enjoying a view together. They've done so well with this adaptation so far. Cannot wait to see the rest of it.
I actually just read an article - an interview with the directors - where they mentioned getting the same voice actors for the clickers and several movement actors playing clickers who are actually (huge) fans of the game, that was probably why their movement was so darn good
One aspect of Tess's final moments that kind of bothered me was why she didn't simply fire her handgun at one of the barrels to ignite them? Did she hand over her gun to Joel because I don't remember that. Also when she stood there with her mouth open allowing an infected to transmit the fungus to her. The more I thought about it I figured they could "sense" the infection in Tess which is why they didn't try to rip her apart immediately, she was one of them now..... Also the infection starts to take hold faster if you are bitten on the head or neck, maybe the cordyceps fungus was forcing her to keep her mouth open, like it did with grandma from episode 1. Either way it seems she used the last of her free will to use that lighter and drop it.
I always search you guys up for reactions and you’re so quick to it too, truly feels like I’m reacting with someone beside me
Based on these two episodes and knowing what's to come. This could turn into my favorite ever TV-show. Bella Ramsey has completely won me over as Ellie. She's doing a great job so far
I’m so impressed how you react to the almost hour episode, and edit it and upload within an hour ish
The part when the stalker stuck the fungi in her mouth was so disturbing and hard to watch
I hope each episode prologue of this season will gradually tell about the outbreak's spread until eventually it hits 2013. Seems like what they're trying to build up from these two eps. They feel so real and could be the segments that could tie this universe's worldbuilding to real world situations
You mean 2003
@@gigachad3457 yea that's right, I got mixed up with the game's settings
Fun fact for you all, I actually live in the City where this was filmed. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Based on what I’ve seen here most of this is real background you’re seeing and most of it if not all of it isn’t green screened. The post secondary institute I go to (SAIT) actually was used to film some parts and I actually saw Joel and Ellie on the house there. Just figured I’d share that with y’all 😁
The voice actors that performed the Male and Female Clicker sounds in the game are providing voice over for them in the show. In the BTS, they mentioned that the stunt performers they used for the Clickers were fans of the game, and captured the Clicker movements from the start.
tess's scene was so sad in the game but in the tv show it definitly hit me way harder too, the desperation, and feeling trapped felt so bad for her.
This episode was absolutely fantastic!!! I'm SO looking forward to the rest of the season!!!!
I read a comment on another video saying how Tess’s kiss was symbolically the kiss she wanted to give Joel but couldn’t. I had thought about it from a scientific pov that “fungus gotta transmit & she wasn’t trashing around to make them bite, makes sense” but this more metaphoric pov also makes so much sense!
Also the way Joel looked at her, just piercing non withstanding stare. That last look spoke a million words. Like he knew it would be the last time he would see her so he was “taking a picture” of her.
Please Naughty Dog make a 20 Year Blank Period prequel game ahhhh. Get us that JoelxTess backstory 🙏
I love that scene because it works on so many levels narratively and lore-wise (for the show). I’m so glad people are seeing the scene for its incredible nuance instead of just thinking it’s just for shock value as some have interpreted.
I believe that tendril scene is also symbolism for the kiss Tess is longing for with Joel. We are teased that they are in relationship, but we never see an actually moment of physical affection (besides the bed scene). In her last moment, she wanted one last kiss, but couldn’t.
I haven't watched this I just HAVE TO SAY that I'm SO HAPPY you guys post this as fast bc all I could think was I'm so happy I have these guys to share my love for Tlou and they post so fast. Thank you! The seratonin boost between the show and having some type of community it's SO APPRECIATED! 😊😊😊😊 BE Back after I watch the reaction I'm. So pumped!!!!
The clickers scene was done so BEAUTIFULLY! I was so tense myself trying not to make a sound while watching. The practicality in the design of the Clickers and environment really are amazing! I cannot WAIT for next Sunday!
Loved it. The change of making the cordyceps into a sort of web for all infected makes it SOO better
Haven’t watched it yet but i enjoy how close they’re keeping the similarities between this and the game alike. Pedro pascal has been in quite a few hit tv shows now, Game of thrones (along with bella ramsey) Mandorian, Narcos, The Good wife. Dude deserves it all.
I just wish the Cliker scene was a little bit longer, just for the tension of sneaking around them, and the scar it brings (just like in the game) and also, i don't know about the "kiss" between Tess and the runner, but I saw what they were trying to do. This series so far is very spotted on! Loving it!
You guys are great keep up the awesome work, I'm loving this show so far
I love the small changes and additions to the infected and how they operate. They really feel more like fungus controlling husks, more so here than in the games. Also Pedro and Bella are hitting their strides as Joel and Ellie in this episode.
You guys were quuuuuiiiiiick to it! 😂
But yeah this episode was what I anticipated it to be: short, sweet, straight to the point.
And I love how Joel and Ellie slowly start to bond in tidbits. Lol
Also Tess is a 🐐 thru and thru.
I love your reactions! Your level of excitement is contagious! It's like getting to watch the show for the first time!
This entire episode I was geeking out over the effects/CGI. Just incredibly true to the game 4 months later and I still can't get over how well they executed this retelling.
You said it perfectly that they grew the series. They didn't try to recreate it. They took a solid story that basically tells itself but just added to the lore so beautifully. They've made it into a PERFECT companion to the game.😭
Without a doubt THE best game adaption that I have ever seen.
The clickers are AMAZING and I’m liking the scenic shots! Loving this show!
I love the behind the scenes stuff they show after the credits.
Appreciate you guys uploading these reactions so quick!
I’ve never been more on the edge of my seat with a tv show, that clicker scene was amazing!!! Great performances all around
PERFECTION and love how they are showing the start of the virus. Or maybe a glimpse into the days before the Outbreak
Just finished the episode and Holy shit it was perfect.
Now I did see the preview for episode 3....and the changes in the episode will not take us out of the experience. I guarentee it
The SOUND, SET, and COSTUME designs are so beautiful in this episodeeee
Thank you for being one of the few channels anymore that doesn't cut the best parts just to get people to go to their patreon.
Just finished watching the episode myself, gonna watch your guys reaction now :D
Loved the episode and your reactions. I was so creeped out I couldn't breathe. And I'm a seasoned horror fan. Grossly beautiful is a good description. So fun to watch with you and Andrew after I watch. You guys make my Sunday nights! 💖✌️🎬🎬🎬🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️ see you next week!
Just finished this and was refreshing YT waiting for you guys to drop this lol
My absolute favorite part of this episode is when Tess tells Ellie what to do before they walk into the museum. As a gamer, we control characters, in this case Joel mostly, and adaptations do not get this right (besides the little silly 1st POV in Doom). You don't ever feel immersed in the story. But when Tess gives the ground rules, to go slowly, and to stay behind them, it feels like both a tutorial and just a normal part of this world. I immediately got the feeling that I was Joel and the two of them were moving right behind me.
I thought the same thing about wanting Tess to die in episode 3 so we could spend more time with her. Then I remembered that originally, this WOULD be episode three since last week’s episode was originally split in two.
Here was my original breakdown
Episode 1 would be all about Sarah and the episode would end with her dying.
Episode 2 would be all about life in the QZ and that episode would end with them escaping.
Episode 3 would play out the same as HBOs episode 2.
Episode 4 would be Ellie and Joel finding Bill and Frank the episode would end with Joel and Ellie ambushed by the hunters.
Episode 5 would introduce Sam and Henry it would focus on the sewers and Suburbs and end with Henry shooting himself.
Episode 6 would start off with finding Tommy at the dam and it end with Joel hurting himself on the rebar.
Episode 7 would be winter and Ellie looking after Joel. David takes her hostage and Joel saves her.
Episode 8 would be the Riley episode in the mall. It would end with Riley dying.
Episode 9 the final would be the hospital part and Joel saving Ellie
So far they are following everything sort of the way it goes
Love the lore they are adding just with little changes but still seems realistic, also the set design and sounds were amazing and scary.
When Pedro says "From this point onward, we are silent" he looked a bit like Nathan Fillion to me.
My heart rate literally went way tf up when those clickers showed up. absolutely amazing
I've played through the first game six times...this show is so god damn good I'm probably gonna go for a seventh.
Do it. I'm so happy with the adaptation so far. Loved how badass Tess was. Went out on her terms. Helped people she cared and was starting to care for. That's how you make a strong female character.
And everybody doubt it just because of the cast I mean come on they nail it
@theaztecwarrior1190 I was a tad bit hesitant at first, but open at the same time. I have no complaints now. They really have nailed it.
I’m replaying the game as I’m watching the show
@@haykatshemyan8874 I just recently played the PS5 version when it dropped so I might wait a little bit, but it's definitely gonna happen.
The show just keeps getting better and better! I don’t want it to end! It lives up to the game. 😭😭❤️❤️❤️
Love how it looks like before every episode we are getting flashbacks to the beginning of the outbreak to explain some of the lore.
This episode was AMAZING!!!! Ugh! It’s all just SOOOO good and well thought out!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
They are doing an amazing job with this show. This is how all adaptations should be. They are being faithful, but also making smart changes and additions to better adapt this to being a TV show. The underground connections do a great job of replacing spores as it keeps the feel of there could be danger at any second. Amazing job. Plus being directed by the games literal creator? Absolute hats off to everyone involved. This is the bench mark for adaptations going forward.
And Craig is also directing. He made Chernobyl so he knows how make a good show
Holy cow, this was the first time in a while where I’ve held my breath and was at the edge of my seat. Even though I know what’s going to happen, the show still manages to make things fresh and I genuinely feel like I’m witnessing the story for the first time again. This episode really exceeded my expectations.
After the episode they have the next episode preview, and after that they had a behind the scenes piece on this episode! They mentioned the actors for the clickers, and they were not the same actors in the game but actors that were fans of the game. Also, the faces were prosthetics. I swear it was special effects. Those prosthetic artists are mad talented!
The fact that just two episodes in and this is already the greatest video game to live action adaption ever is mind blowing. Mad props to the entire team that have made this possible. It's already one of my favorite things I've watched!
