Try upping your tolerance by drinking double the amount of usual but on the rocks or in cocktails. The dilution usually brings out the lower tones and flavors as well as builds a stronger tolerance to raw straight whiskey, from my experience. I never had a straight glass of whiskey before I had 300 Old Fashions.
Conor won in 40 seconds though.

I really enjoy the proper 12 it has a kick to it and very smooth going down. Jameson I don't get the same results but to each there own there both good.
Proper 12 is one of the best rust inhibitors, will also strip paint and degrease. One shot will kill all known viruses.
instead of vaccinations they should just give everyone a bottle of proper 12 to fight covid

Proper 12 isn't bad, I just bought a bottle of it today, been wanting to try it for awhile! I like it, the only thing I noticed is it seems a little bit more oily then other whiskey's I have tried, but it's not a bad thing, fairly smooth, I like it.
@Toxic Carnage Depends on the individual, hasn't made me mad yet, but I can handle my liquor and I don't drink the bottle in 1 sitting, just a few ounces..
I like it mixed with coke because I kind of get a vinilla coke flavor with it, but I definitely wouldn’t drink it straight on the rocks. No problem drinking Jameson straight though

@@mattyicicles1608 I do like the colors on the Jameson bottle better and just like dude said in the video about the way they use to seal bottles with the wax is what I think Jameson was going for there.
I’ve now just finished my 6th bottle of Proper Twelve. The nose is very strong like alcohol but the biggest issue for me is not one bottle tastes the same. A couple tasted very smooth but the others where vile. So much burn like totally opposite to each other. Jameson’s are very consistent in taste. They never fail

Simple Diversion it’s as though they’ve multi sourced to fulfil orders with such demand just to get it out there. A couple of the bottles where so much nicer than Jameson’s but the others no where near as smooth and had to mix them or fill with ice

Na. I'm not a mcgregor fan and frowned upon the idea of him releasing a "Drink" until I tried it. Jameson seems harsh going down compared to proper 12. More Suttle and smooth. More enjoyable. Regardless after 3 shots or so you can't tell the difference anymore 😅
I swear anyone can start reviewing whiskey, they just have to say the same things “hmm I’m getting a little vanilla, honey, apple, mmm yes that honey is coming in strong, a little oaky. Very maulty. Very fruity.”

For me this Jameson is far better quality for the money. Proper 12 is made by bushmills and yet it's Black bush which is finished in sherry casks is cheaper and far better quality than proper 12, wouldn't buy another bottle.
I'd say give it another try when they get some age on it.

Jameson was my first Irish whisky and I've always hated it, but i recently got a bottle of the Proper 12 and its really quite different and much much better.
Proper Twelve is a fantastic Irish whiskey but Jameson is a classic and gets the W for me. But that’s not a knock on Proper Twelve

To call "Proper Twelve" a "fantastic" Irish Whiskey is really an insult to the entire Irish whiskey industry. There is nothing "fantastic" about it. Basic, flat blend, made by Bushmills, ( not even located in the Republic ) marketed to be sold in America. Nobody drinks in over here. If you want a "fantastic" Irish whiskey, do yourself a favour and try Red Breast 12, Yellow Spot, Teeling Single Malt, Connemara 12, Knappouge, etc, etc...

I really love Proper Twelve, my taste is different surely but I've tried multiple scotch's, Irish, Bourbon and etc. Highest amount I've gone is $50+ but I still fall back on my recent Discovery of Proper Twelve to me it's smooth with a nice bite and the after taste of smoked vanilla and honey is what brings me back. But like you said everyone's taste/pallet is different.

Black Barrell is my favorite so far, I can drink the whole bottle and not throw up and feel good the next day. proper 12 gave me a crazy headache and hangover
Im not by any means in even the slightest, a whiskey expert. I really like Jameson but I think I give a slight edge to Proper 12. It really is so smooth, great for entry level whiskey drinkers like myself. And none of this is at all disrespect towards Jameson, thats what took my whiskey v-card. Ive had great experiences with Proper 12, havent noticed a difference in next day effects so if im able to take a preference itll be that, but ill gladly take Jameson if thats whats available.
Canadian Club is better than Proper Twelve. Especially given the price.

Ive done this comparison several times, and had different results. It depends on the quality of the individual bottles. Both are good! Drink both!

Proper 12 will give you a really horrible hangover. I tested this out a few times. It tastes pretty good but I wouldn't drink it again after what I experienced.

@@TyroneBiggums789 To be honest, I stick to Jack Daniels or any Vodka when I drink spirits now. There's a really cool Turkish drink I love, Raki, you add water and it turns milky and it's so good. I've hardly been drinking since the pandemic started though.
Properly 12 is Gooooooooddddd
Proper 12’s ethanol flavor really ruins it for me, especially since it hits at the front end and the back. There really isn’t much to it flavor wise, when comparing to Jameson though, it’s tough, neither are good. But if I had to choose one I would go with the Jameson. If proper 12 could lose the ethanol flavor, they would easily edge out Jameson! I wish they would take a note from the numerous similar criticisms and change.
I like the 12 as a mixer..its a good party guzzle.
But why not just buy Jack Daniels instead if you're going to mix it?
I loved Jameson until I tried Proper.
From what I can remember.... proper 12 has a decent pedigree.... I think it's made at the bushmills distillery in Northern Ireland, the oldest distillery in the world......

I have both right now, Proper 12 is much better, Jameson is not as smooth and has more of ethanol moonshine taste to it. Proper 12 gets a bad rap but its Irish whisky, its not supposed to be spicy like tennesse whisky or bourbon.
Proper 12 priced @ $25-30 is the Winner.
Gotta admit looked forward to the proper 12 it does smell like paint thinner. Can't really taste the vanilla.

I've come from hating whiskey to being able to handle only Irish whiskey for wat ever reason. ... I like jd honey... N Jameson but I've not tried out else yet. But for me it's just stomach burn.
I'm open to recommendations I'm not a big drinker at all.. but like a Irish whiskey nightcap cos of insomnia works for me...but I can't taste any notes in anything

@@dernbuy I drink all whiskey... I have phases where I like american stuff, irish, scotch..... I try to mix it up a little..... juat saying tullamore Dew seems to be one of the better irish.... proper 12 is ok for a newer blend.

I'm sick of Jamo, too harsh for me now as I get older. Proper I can shoot and enjoy the flavors. My brother in law made me a lemonade and Prop 12 and is was delicious, scary cause you can't taste any alcohol in it.

Honestly, I've had both whiskeys and quite frankly proper no. 12 is missing that punch that jameson has. From what I gather, proper 12 barely meets the standards of Irish whiskey.
Proper 12 should lose a point for being entirely misleading with a big "12" on the label when it's an NAS.
Mr. Orange it can be misleading when you hear about it, but to be fair they did write out “twelve” on the bottle.
Proper Twelve is a weird blend that provides a very forgettable experience. It has quickly become a novelty item, which is it's "proper" place. It'll probably linger while Conor is active, then go the way of Trump Steaks.

Ight so i just turned 21. I wanted to try whiskey my whole life so got a bottle of jack Daniels (Friend recommendation) and it was terrible or at least not my favorite taste. I’ve heard good things about Jamenson and will probably get a bottle of it as well. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good sipping whiskey. Something easier to drink by itself. Preferably under a 100$. Or just tell me I’m dumb and recommend water or something. I’m new to drinking and wanna learn
Buffalo Trace, Basil Hayden's, Highland Park 12, Jameson Black Barrel, Glenmorangie Original, Talisker Storm, Russell's Reserve are all great choices for beginners and affordable.
talisker, johnny walker bIack label is alright for its price. and if u want to spend more, i recommend to go into Japanese whiskeys :)

It's not Proper and it is expensive for what it is. Jameson is rubbish blended whiskey that need plenty of coke to make it drinkable. If you like it congratulations and Enjoy 👌
