I don't get this notion of "old man" or "senior" everyone is saying. The guy was 50. I know plenty of 50 year old men that would not consider themselves "old". In reality, yes they obviously are not spring chickens and can't do anything against a 30 year old MMA fighter, but lets be real here...he's not some old man with a cane...he's a bar regular that got a smack for being disrespectful. If he just said no thank you, nothing would have happened. Instead, he did the typical "back in my day I would kick your ass" attitude by saying "I don't want that shit". The question is, would you turn down a free shot of whiskey to a guy who you feel could whoop your ass by saying "I don't want that shit", or would you say "I'm good". That's what I thought. What ever happened to men being men....50 isn't THAT old. I still wouldn't fuck with Randy Couture or Chuck Liddell and they are 50.
Let's be clear, what Conor did wasn't RIGHT, but the "old" guy was being a dick. Lesson: Don't mouth off to a guy at a bar that you can't win a fight against. Seems the days of common sense are long gone.

I just picked up a bottle today at Feldmans. I was surprised at how smooth it was going down and the honey notes hit me first, then the woody oak, then the 40% hit... I think it would taste a bit better with a big chunk of ice in it to tone down the harsher notes but overall this is a decent whiskey
Save 12 minutes...they both say, "I don't hate it".

I'm quite proper after about 12 strong pulls from the bottle, and I just chucked it in the freezer as it's just my thing.

Ive been enjoying this for a while now. I enjoy the mix of sweet and a light bitterness slight honey and woodsy notes. I drink my whiskey or scotch neat and feel it does open up while in glass for a bit. If you add one ice cube to your glass it changes the nose profile while sipping. Enjoyable drink IMO. Great review my bearded friends

I have found the proper way to drink Proper Twelve, or most Irish Whiskey for that matter, is to pour a dram in your glass, then splash enough Laphroaig 10 year on top to make it taste like a proper whisky. This makes your bottle of Laphroaig last considerably longer. That being said, I like Proper 12!

If you add a couple drops of water from a straw and keep smelling & tasting and adding water you will find more smells coming out also flavour as you taste. It's a blend so I would usually use it for rusty nails mixing with drambuie. I'm a single malt guy if drinking neat.
I just did a re-review of it and it was noticeably better. I prefer big, bold, barrel proof bourbon and peated Islay scotch.

Fair review. Some guys I think review it bad just because they don't like McGregor, but this seemed fair. I think it tastes better than Jameson and should be really popular at Irish pubs here in the States.

Agreed! I was trying it right along with you fine gentlemen. Not a lot going on with this! Right off the palate a hint of honey and does have a smell of some type of plant or flowers! For $30 it is highly palatable!

So many people bitching about it taking too long to review the whiskey need to learn there's a lot more than just pounding a shot and giving it a thumbs up or down. I'd say this was a solid review and I'd like to give the whiskey a try my self.
I was under the assumption bourbon was a protected spirit and had to be aged a minimum of 2 years, aged in new charred oak barrels, 51% corn and limestone filtered or it couldn't be labeled as bourbon although I know there are some out there that use wine and port barrels to age in. The climate in Ireland is so cool that 3 years isn't enough. That's why you see Canadian whiskey that's usually aged 9 to 12 years opposed to a 4 year old bourbon that's usually has alot more flavor and earthy notes. You guys said you're in Texas , what's your thoughts on Garrison Bros bourbon? I love it and treat myself to a bottle a couple times a year.
I will be posting a review today on a bourbon that was aged for 1 year. "Straight Bourbon" must be aged for 2 years. I haven't had Garrison Bros yet. I've eyeballed it plenty of times but it's hard for me to get past the price tag.

I heard it releases more flavours after a few taps, then it literally sends you over the edge with energy.
Nice review Guys .. though when drinking (blended whiskey) some types like a warm glass some like a cold glass .
When trying blends try with both types of glass you might see some vast differences in the aroma and palate .
My preference in whiskey is Isle of Jura 12 or if funds (or special occasion) permit a 30(around $750 for the states)

Distilled in one of Ireland's oldest distilleries, with all the various "left over" all blended into one + some added flavoring. Choosing the reputable distiller is for convincing people that it's good, it's a win win situation for both parties involved. Good for conor, because he can use the name of the distillery, good for the distillery because they can use conor's name and at the same time discard their left overs so both parties profit! Average joe and college students are -$58 down but are happy to get drunk, real whiskey drinkers are -$58 down and feels like they fell for a meme.

As an Irish man to hear you call Guinness a beer broke my heart haha we’d call it a stout. I had some proper twelve last weekend and I would agree with these gentlemen. Although it was tastey, satisfying and a lot better then other whiskeys I’ve had. I’ll definitely drink it again, but Jameson wins it for me.

I think that for the price, it is a pretty decent product. I am no whiskey expert but I find it enjoyable and I don't have to quince over the cost every time I pour a glass.

I used to like Jameson until I tried Proper 12. Now it's my go to whiskey. I personally find it smoother and better tasting for a lower priced whiskey. I love the cork bottle too. All bottle should go back to the cork style instead of that annoying aluminum screw type.

My experience:
Nose: Wtf is this? Honestly does not smell like anything drinkable, light burn and stank on the nose. I like this review's description of it... like weeds in a yard, dried grass that's been stepped on? Idk. I wouldn't read too much into this cuz after u smell it, ull shake ur head and just hope the taste is better which it thankfully is.
Taste: Overall, unremarkable but crazy smooth and drinkable, like a vodka but has whiskey characteristics. I'm sure w.e. notes they said were in there were there, vanilla sweetness was somewhat present but whatever taste were there were scant at best.
Great stuff if ure looking for just easy high-volume drinking. Sometimes stuff like Crown, Evan williams, Jack can get a little harsh after a few glasses... but Proper No. 12 goes down super easy. Too easy sometimes... This bottle wasn't empty before...
Point well taken! Guinness is a brewery but they are owned by Diageo which owns a number of distilleries all over the world including Ireland.
