- (I apologize for the choppy footage. It will get better in the coming videos!)
As the title says! I dyno'd my 2018 Audi B9 S4 with P&L Motorsports. This was done on a Dynojet with an ambient temp of roughly 77F. IAT's were sky high by the 3rd run but I think it still put down respectable numbers. 523AWHP & 545FT-TQ. Drive train loss on this platform seems to be around 12.5% - 14% which would give us roughly 590HP & 613TQ!
Performance Modifications:
- EPL ECU / TCU tune
- TTE710 hybrid turbo
- 4bar MAP sensors
- Milltek catless downpipe
- Carbnlabs turbo inlet and aFe filter
- CTS intercooler
Thanks for watching and subscribe for more videos to come!

Your builds freaking awesome man keep up the work! It’s nice to finally see more B9 S4 content being created. I hope the aftermarket continues to grow for this platform seems to have a lot of potential. I got a MK7 GTI but the S4 is definitely getting added to the garage when the time is right haha
Thanks Jorge! I appreciate the feedback and I'll continue uploading!
I like the white reflectors. Nice build. Wheels & tires sit real good. Engine bay is detailed too.
Thank you very much Jabari! You have an eye for the little details, just like me haha.
Hey man, really appreciate this video and got to find a turbo cover finally for my set up! I'm trying to pull together my Stage 3 based off the srm hybrid and appreciate your videos as they help me figure out what I want/need to do!
Congrats on going stage 3! Glad I could help a long the way. I appreciate the support
Here from the Facebook S4 page. This thing looks sick!
Thanks Taylor! I appreciate the support
This is awesome!
Thanks bro!
you are definitely getting more power from the ethanol mix. When you want to show 93 numbers then you should use only 93 and not E20. Nice car, i like it a lot and keep the videos coming. Grtz
Ohhh buddy can’t wait to get this back on the channel
When I put in some 104 octane lets run it back!
@@BrockDM1 yes please 🙌
clean man
I'm super late to the party but very nice. P&L is the lowest reading dgno (in my experience) in Chicago area btw, so even more impressive 👏
Thanks Olu! Do you have any other recommendations for dynos? I plan to rerun once it cools off a bit. My IAT's hit 130+ after the first run haha
@@BrockDM1 only 130? that's a good day for mine 🤣
Performance EuroWerks Dyno
@@olu Haha the SC motors definitely run hotter. I'm usually around 10-15 above ambient. I'll check PE out, thanks!
Bro. Looks great. Awesome build I have to know about this grille. Did you go to carbnlabs for that. It came out al lot better than mine.
Thanks Nick! I appreciate it man. Yes I got the grill from Carbnlabs. It was just recently so I think they switched suppliers. I heard early adopters had a bunch of issues with their CF grills
what was the cost of this whole setup the turbo all the goodies including the tune
How many ft lbs of torque would you say it’s pushing on an accurate dyno?
Awesome build. Did you add any cosmetics parts on the exterior if so do you have a video for that?
Thanks Travis! I have a few exterior cosmetics. I'll post another video soon of them 👍🏼
Where did you get the carbon fog grille surrounds? The only ones I've found are from ECS and are a little to big IMO
I agree, I didn't like the ECS ones either. These are no name's from eBay. If you search b9 s4 "MAD style" carbon it should come up
Love this build! I've got a '12, B8 that's stage 2+ in white, with a whole crap ton of goodies. Question; what kind of wheels are those? They look sick!
Thanks! They are BC Forged HBR5 in 20x9.5
I need a ride in it!!
We'll make it happen!
Hey man...love the build! Ur build is one of the reasons I traded my GTI for an S4. I just got it a week ago. I plan on doing many similar things. I have alota questions if u don't mind helping me out a bit. Love the way the car sits...what size wheels & width & et? Also tire size?
Wow thank you chris! I appreciate the support. So I am lowered on ABT springs with 20x9.5 et35 wheels and 265/30/20 michelin ps4s tires. The fitment is 👌🏼👌🏼
You did what i plan to do . Gotta hurry and pay her off for the trade 💯 . S4 is definitely a nice upgrade 👌
Amazing numbers Bro! Have you got flex fuel sensor?
Thank you! Yes, I fitted an ethanol sensor and routed it to a P3 gauge in the car. If you pull up my build thread that's in the description of the video I have photos of everything
@@BrockDM1 will have a look, thanks! 🤟🏻
Awesome build! I see your 0-60 time…what’s the 1/4 look like.
I stated in the video but my best is 10.80 @ 127
How’s the smell on the catless downpipe?
On pump, what is your 60-130 time looking like? Nice build by the way
Thanks Sean., 60-130 is right around 7.8s
Hey man quick question, got a b9 Audi s5 coupe, got it from auction, turns out the guy tuned it a decent amount, its got a apr intercooler, arma intake, and a FI (frequency intelligent exhaust) installed, my friend said its most likely a stage 2, you have a general idea of how much hp it could have?
No clue
Hi. You have cool ailerons on the front bumper, what is the name of the company that sells them? where is trendy to buy?
I bought them on eBay. www.ebay.com/itm/283574022837
How is drivability at that power level? I'm thinking of getting a B9 s4 as a daily.
It drives like stock unless you push your foot further
Dang these new s4 platforms are doing real good 10.8 on just pump gas with ethanol prob lowish 10's with meth in the 9's for sure, i have a b8.5 s4 guna have to upgrade to the b9 s4.
They've progressed quite a bit! The fastest so far is low 10s with meth. I don't think we'll see 9s until people start doing bigger turbos and building the motor
@@BrockDM1 is there any consensus on how much tq this motor can handle and what the weak point is? I didn’t think anybody was making enough power yet to cause a mechanical failure.
Looking forward to the days when the EA839 is plentiful on junk lots and enough pioneers have found that limit so the rest of us can optimize setups just below that threshold.
@@stephencarney477 There has been an arbitrary number of 600whp tossed around as the limit for stock pistons/rods but it's been claimed from only one person. We haven't seen any built ZF's yet and a lot run more torque than I do.
I think it's still early on as that failure point could be attributed to many things. He was spraying meth so an uneven distribution could have caused that and not the rods/pistons giving way. To play it safe i think its still too early to really tell. They seem to be a great combo tho thus far
Hey just wondering, any reason why you aren't running full e85 yet? I have a B9.5 S4 and I've been on e85 for almost a year with no aftermarket fuel pump and I've had 0 problems!
Full e85 isn't possible with a hybrid turbo yet and it will likely need a hpfp, lpfp and potentially injectors to get there. When running more boost you need more fuel and when running ethanol you need more demand from the fuel system. The stock system just can't move enough ethanol to support 28+ psi with a hybrid turbo even after upgrading the hpfp.
@@BrockDM1 okay sweet! thanks for the detailed reply! i was planning on getting the APR fuel pump before going big turbo anyways - I knew deep down i needed it but didn't actually know WHY lol
How is the 4 bar map sensor installation?
Piece of cake. Depending on what charge pipes you have the new sensors may need to be trimmed but it takes 5 mins.
What grille?
how hard was the install? or how much was labor if you didn't install it yourself?
The install is very doable with basic tools. It was my first time ever swapping a turbo and took a few hours but very straight forward. If you go to my build thread in the video description I have a guide on it
what is 0-60? I know with just a tune these cars will do 3.6-3.8 ...you must be doing low 3s?
My best is 3.02. So fricken close to 2.9 haha. I've been trying and trying but I get consistent 3.0-3.1
@@BrockDM1 Wow 🤩
Ive never seen those carbon grille accents where did you get them from???
Ive seen the big side grille overlay peices but yours are like underneath the body line and these look so much better. If you don’t mind lmk where to get those! Your build is awesome btw
@@kevinblank3844 Thanks man! I got them on eBay. They are called "MAD" style carbon lower grills. It looks like the listing is taken down though so you can try searching other places for them too.
damnnnn you put brembos on it?! where’s that kit from!?
Brembo BM6 kit. You can get it anywhere
Do you have check engine light ?
The Milltek catless downpipe does throw a CEL. If you want to avoid that I recommend getting the Carbnlabs catless downpipe or a HFC
How the the tte710 for daily driving experience?
It's awesome. Plenty of down low power and torque while the mid and top end increase drastically. It's perfect for these cars IMO
Am I the only know that doesn’t see that MASSIVE dip on one of the runs?
Welcome to the B9 platform lol. Nearly all cars, including stock tune have the dip around 2500rpm. Some tuners mask/tune around it and others leave it there. 100% normal on this platform
Which 4 bar map sensors are you using
Bosch/OEM 4 bar sensors
Hey man, what's your wheel and tire setup??
These are 20x9.5 et35 BC Forged HBR5S with 265/30/20 Michelin PS4S
Did you lose a bunch of low end torque with the turbo upgrade?
Some but the mid and upper range greatly improved
Do you pass emissions with the new turbo and exhaust you have lol
The turbo has no effect on emissions and I'm not required to be tested right now
How do you plan on passing emissions 😂 Epic build tho and congrats.
I have my stock downpipe still that I can switch back to if need be. Thanks!
@@BrockDM1 rad! Hopefully you can get on E85 sometime soon with a HPFP... or will 104 be enough
@@surfercardude9127 104 will likely make more power since its easier on the fuel system but its so damn expensive by me haha. Fingers crossed on the HPFP tho!
How much money do I need to upgrade to this ?
More than a few bucks
@@BrockDM1 like how much $?
What type of wheels are those?
BC Forged 2 piece HBR5
600 should be possible on full e85. or e40+meth if your fueling is limited. Impressive for pump gas!
Thanks man. EPL is testing a HPFP upgrade with E40 and they've made 620+whp so it's looking promising
@@BrockDM1 stock block?
@@nolansmokes Yes, unopened engine
@@BrockDM1 impressive
Shouldn’t you be making around 700 with this set up?
ON 93?? No chance
That’s just overkill imo
Shittt more like not enough 😎
*so basically you've got about $12,000 cash in it for almost 600hp*
it's crazy the difference between b9 and b8.5 in pure cost to hit around 600hp.
Not even. My performance mods are ~$7k (turbo, tune, intercooler, downpipe, intake and MAP sensors
what fuuel in this video?
This is a 93 map
Hey Brock, love the build I’m looking at doing a stage 3 kit on my s5 but have a few questions do you have a page for your car on Instagram or Facebook I could message and ask you a few questions?
Thanks
Hey George, no problem. My IG is @BrockDM 👍🏼
