Folks, I want to introduce you to Morgan James. She just released her first album, and everyone needs to know about her, because she's phenomenal and deserves to be a huge star. Once I heard her voice, I knew instantly that I had to get her in a video- and here it is: our 1970's Motown / Soul remake of Maroon 5's new hit, "Maps." Special thanks to Mykal Kilgore (from "Motown: The Musical") and Jasmine Walker for joining us on backup vocals.

I always come back to hear this. Who’s watching 2024!
It does not seem like 10 years have passed by. A beautiful singer and a wonderful song.
Yes I'm listening in Australia
Getting my goosies on.
Consistently
Me😊
Boy when Morgan started to hit that note I went and made dinner, did the dishes and came back to her still hitting it. Talk about some lungs..
According to knowledgeable sources, her lungs start right from her toes.
@@damirzugec64561
@@damirzugec6456 ha ha ha... Good one.
Heh. You write "that note" and we all immediately know what you mean.
HAHAHA
Morgan has more talent than 99.9% of most of the Grammy winners in the last few years.
Very beautiful performance
She's superb, great and she has an immense talent for sure. I've seen her live in Montreal with PMJ a few years back and I am still in awe ! But whether your evaluation is overrated or not, you know damn well that's not how the entertainment industry works: artists are recognized at the Grammys for the numbers, nit only, or necessarily, their talent. Love her anyhow, of course ! ❤️
One gifted lady
.
The only one who holds a candle to her is tambourine guy (yes he won a Grammy)
Surely more than the last one ...
So if you watch PMJ vids chronologically you will observe that Scott bought a much bigger house after this video
We got better music too, win - win
Love theseæ❤❤
3:50
Well deserved
Morgan James is up front and you're looking at the house!?
Seriously though I love these vids.
Lol, this.
When a song is so well done you don't ever care about knowing the original.
I made the mistake of looking up the original, do not watch the video what ever you do.
yea atf rain was so good with this music
too bad the games broke. now you have to hack to play it, which means nobody plays it :/
I agree!
As I haven't heard the original, I thought I would listen what's the difference. My, oh my... The original is like that random noise you want to stop.
@@Hexanitrobenzene I don't have anything against the original song, just the video for the original song
How many more incredible artists have we missed because of the 'music industry'?
How many amazing meals you miss out everyday because of 'food industry' just go out there and explore, not like people in previous generations had it any better.
God thanks for you tube and open food markets
😢
@@dawidjagusiak This is a false equivalent on so many levels I can't be bothered explaining. Perfect example of 'if you have to ask you'll never know'.
Dawid He asks a valid question and its a fact that the music industry has completely shunned true talent. You know this. Stop pretending
What a performance from Morgan as well as the support singers and band!
+TheMobileMan So true! Morgan, the singers, and the band are fantastic! You can download this song along with more awesome covers at itunes.apple.com/us/album/historical-misappropriation/id914637609
+PostmodernJukebox Morgan James is the best singer in PostmodernJukebox and this piece is her crown jewel.
+Jack Black I personally like Miche Braden and Haley Reinhart a bit more.
+Jack Black Mykal Kilgore is the most impressive to me. Morgan is my favorite.
She's truly phenomenal. By far the best singer they featured !!!.
How is this lady not the most popular singer on the planet??
+1 who's asking
I made the mistake of listening to this one before hearing the Maroon 5 version. Maroon 5 were phoning it in, even in the studio version. This is gorgeous.
Talent unfortunately has never meant popularity with music.
At least in the last 30 or so years.
or hottest!
She is not popular because of her music choices she needs to something lady gaga like her music is too niche like
Wow I have just discovered Morgan James!! Amazing!
Guess the NSA isn't all that good at finding amazing talent.
Too busy wasting time hovering up innocent peoples data to worry about real talent.
Better late than never. You have good taste, Edward. She's a friend of mine.
SHE'S GOT SOUL :)
Delivery ,execution, control , timing. What a performer. Please deliver this to uk
Good bone structure
And the best voice man's ever heard.
Of course she's amazing, she's a proud alumni of Juilliard! :)
That ain't all she got brother!! :o
I hear Maroon 5 made a cover of this
lol, well played!
I laughed out loud cause I think you're right!
Whats Maroon 5 are they a band or something?
@@grinningchicken you maroon
The top comment should be this one.
The most important aspect of the PMJ videos is... ONE TAKE No cuts. THAT underlines the quality - you're seeing a live gig.
They are great.
When you say « one take » it means they never repeated this together before ?
@@jemyp0613 No. One take refers to no edits or cutaways. As if you watched it live.
@@garytate8284 aah ok thank you, it’s clearer now
One Shot: - Recorded continuously, presented without cuts.
One Take: - Performed and recorded only once, presented with or without cuts or editing.
We cannot know if this was done in one take, but done in one shot is still awesome!
Did anyone else fill chills with that high note or just me? That’s was so cool
That was stunningly good...wow!
Every time.....It's just an incredible vocal..
I saw ur comment while starting to watch it and i didnt know what u were refering to. when i got to that part, holy sh1t ,im crying!
Not just the high note, but the passage before and after it, all in one breath, sung with volume, control, and power. Her lungs must have lungs
I was shocked
amazing! so much better than the original
Yup!
Totally agreed.
No not really lol it's good but not better
I personally don't care for M5 so if a band/group can make me like one of their songs, then I'd say it's better. But that's where the word "opinions" come into play.
They totally captured the essence of very early 1970's soul--hand's down. I can close my eyes and picture this song being sung around 1970-1971. It's that authentic. The original version by Maroon 5 doesn't hold a candle to this cover version.
I know this arrangement features Morgan as the lead singer, but as a choir girl from long ago, I have to say the back-up singers were phenomenal! Oh heck EVERYONE in this video kills it!
My sentiments exactly. They all are just awesome
Insanely good backup. Deserves better better band and audio technical work.
Good ear they killed it
The back-up singers are amazing.
Disagree, I found the guy's voice grating
PMJ featuring Morgan James is the greatest thing the YT algorithm has ever brought to my attention.
That was fucking amazing, WOW! abundant chills
Yep, good stuff!!! Great choice, Michael:))))
I don't even like the original. this is crazy good.
DUDE SAAAAME
me too! this is waaaaaaay better
Yeah!!!
As it's the case with almost every song here IMO.
Same here, I barely listen to pop music or light rock, but this... God, so talented people right there
If this version had been released in the 1970s, then it would have been an absolute smash. It is as good as any soul song released in that time period and far better than most. Morgan James would have been an absolute superstar.
Fresh Fresh Moron.
That is absolutely true! She has it all!
Tony you're absolutely right! Stunningly good
Sorry Adam but this is way better than the original
I came on RUclips to watch a video, or, two. I've been watching PMJ videos for over an hour now.
the same thing happens to me everytime i tell myself "one song... ill check out just one pmj song and then im done"
2:53 My jaw dropped straight to the floor.
(Ambulance crashes into the wall)
Jonathan Giang as soon as I read that I burst out laughing as I imagined puddles stepping out of the wreckage to sing, "lonely guy"
Right! I replay that part like 10 times for every time I listen to this song! Her voice is GOLD!
ExternalTooth yeah, I cry every time T-T
ExternalTooth Each time I hear that part I have to get up and throw my monitor to the ground. It's so damn good.
Not to take anything away from Maroon 5... but I just hope they've listened to this interpretation of their song...and that they can admit that this is amazeballs. Absolutely amazing. Now, when I get Maps stuck in my head, it's this version that plays.
SchalaZeal I'll take it a step further and say that Maroon 5's song sounds like a cover for THIS song... and not a very good one.
SchalaZeal You should see her live. She's phenomenal. I got to meet her in Tucson and told her I actually prefer her version of this song over Maroon 5.
Never understood how she never became a star. Just incredible talent.
Maybe she didn't do the right "favors" (good for her)
Dammit, I didn't read the full title, I just saw "Maps" and assumed this was a Yeah Yeah Yeahs cover. Oh well, still a good cover! Much better than the original.
Hillary Leach Hey Hillary
Same thing happened to me
Me too lol
Great song, such a let down, eh?
Hillary Leach your profile pic girl just gave my eyes the crave for more from your face :v
This is unbelievable. Like the song itself was written just for this purpose. The original sounds like cheap remix x) way to go!
Morgan James made this song her own lol
I re-listen time and time again just to hear that note at 2:55. Amazing.
+Van Exel (Vanexel007) BLOODY HELL!
+Van Exel (Vanexel007) Damn !
+Van Exel (Vanexel007) climax bro.. climax
+Van Exel (Vanexel007) I get goosebumps everytime I hear this part. :)
+Van Exel (Vanexel007) Man, the build to that point is so good I just wanna throw my computer each time I get to that part. SO.DAMN.GOOD.
Can"t believe it's been 8 years since this released. Still jamming to this day
Ikr
They have such a great sound. We could show this to the people in the distant past or the far future and it would still hold up. Timeless.
i listen to this probably 3x a week and have for the last 4 or 5 years.
It will never, ever get old.
It always will.
2:53 - 3:06
HOLY SHIT!!
Holy
fucking
SHIT!!!!
How does anyone do that??? How can anyone sing like that? "Amazing" does NOT do it justice
This is my single favorite music video of all time.
I Just can't get enough of this cut. The back up singers are phenomenal as well . Mr. in the fine grey suit has it !!!
8 people in some guy's living room making better music than the vast majority of stuff that is "professionally" produced. This talent and most of all joy in the work they are doing is just incredible.
Make no mistake, they are professionals
This probably Scott Bradley's living room in his NYC apartment. And since he was a music producer on Broadway he knew all the best talent & that's who he hired for these sessions. Everyone in that room is supremely talented! Most PMJ recordings were done in very few takes. Creep, with Haley Reinhart, was one take & done. Bradley just told her to sing it in a "jazzy" style. Over 100 million views!
No computers. No multi track recorders. No auto tuning. Just talent. 👍
Neighbours must be loving this
A rare case when the cover is better than the original, in my opinion, of course. If only I could give "a like" every time i listen to it...
I'm not much into pop music and this is the first version of the song I heard. Then I heard the Alyson Stoner version. Then with some searching, I heard the Maroon 5 version which isn't that good. It has a great, albeit disturbing, video and the lyrics are really good. This is a much better version than the original.
If you think covers being better than the original are rare, you may not have listened to enough PMJ
Nearly every PMJ cover is better than the original for me
That awkward moment you realize the cover beats the original...
Filip Vanheer...I totally agree.
not awkward at all....I melted at that second note. Then I looked at her.
Filip .. You are absolutely right
by far...
So very true....
2:53 - 3:07 proof that humans dont need oxygen to live
@LagiNaLangAko23 yep! also seen the Dream On
OK it's good, (I enjoyed it a lot) but Dimash can sustain a high note for 18 seconds. It's always a matter of perspective
She hit the ariana grande high pitch 😱
who is adriana grande
Really nice considering she doesn't have big lungs.
This is like Mozart improving Salieri's little song. This utterly wipes the floor with the original. I had to go find it. I don't really care for Maroon 5. I had no clue. Truly incredible.
Word!!!
hahaha for real
difference is that salieri was a great musician himself, cant say the same for maroon 5
I actually prefer this version.
+Alisa Powe That's understandable, this version is actually good!
same tbh
The original is complete trash. Pretty incredible what they are able to do with it here
why would someone even complain about this music in your house? -_- i'd be happy to listen to it if i lived near :3
I understand why this would be a popular comment here, but most people like living in their own apartment because this means that they have some time for themselves. I listen to a lot of music and a lot of that music is in this style, but there are times when I am not in the mood for it. And at those times the last thing I would want was the muffled sound of a live band coming through my ceiling, no matter how awesome the music is.
I just hope they deal with this in person rather than through lawyers. I mean, in theory it should be as simple as:
DING DONG
*Neighbour:* "Hello? Oh, it's you. Good to see you!"
*Scott:* "Yeah, hi! About that music thing. I wanted to ask you if it was okay if I were to bring a few artists over to practice and record for about two hours on Thursday from five PM."
*Neighbour:* "Thursday... That's not very good for me. I'll be home from work then and, frankly, I'd really like to have some time to settle down then. Do you have your calendar with you? I'm sure we can find a date."
*Scott:* "Thanks. I'll go and fetch it real quick."
EPR89
Your a tool dude. Can't you see how the world shaped you to care more about getting a good nights rest for your job. Just appreciate the music you could never make.
rubbiebubbie
Chill out dude.
EPR89 So these are recorded in an apartment with adjoining neighbours? It would drive you a bit nuts if it were happening regular wouldn't it, especially if it's good music and all you can hear is the muffled thudding. People saying they wouldn't mind have obviously never had noisy neighbours.
Great singer by the way, very soulful
i've played louder music in my house with no complaints soo

I dream of waking up one year and finding her in my Christmas stocking😍
Maroon 5: We nailed it!
Morgan: Hold my beer.
Morgan James and Haley Reinheart are my favourite singers on PMJ
Shepard for me, it’s Morgan and Sara N.
Dear prudence cover absolutely heavenly
My two favorite also Shepherd...... I can't understand how somebody like Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears get all the fame and Glory.... When those two ladies Miss Reinhardt and Miss James have truck loads more Talent and vocal skills and you not getting here the recognition or money I presume...... What a f*****-up world we live in!!!!!
Shepard i'm absolutely agree.
Robyn Adele Anderson is my favourite
2:55 oh my god, just pure magic. sounds like heaven.
thats a high class quality singer not bitches with their asses out and catchy songs...
Exactly!
I was wondering when she had time to breath.
She was trained at Julliard and studied Opera first which helped with the breathing or lack thereof
I had to relisten to that part several times... absolute magic.
I'm speechless, absolutely amazing.
Better than original for sure. Hated the original actually because it was so annoying, but this is wow. Singer is also really gorgeous
I agree with you. The original version is just too overplayed and annoying. But this cover is just killer. Morgan James has some serious pipes.
I like both this version and original
+Furricane so annoying!! hahahaha you're so right!
+Furricane I could never take Adam Levine's voice seriously.
+nonchalantd thank you so much, during years I tought I was the only one :P
I liked that part between the beginning and the end
i like trains
They are ALL perfect
You must mean the first and last note.... Totally agree 😎
Agee.THAT was the best part!
for those who don't know, Morgan James is a broadway star. She is classically trained in voice and Classical opera singing at Juilliard School. Google more videos of her to see how good her techniques are. Don't compare her to these pop singers with no range or training. She's on a totally different league.
Besides the beauty of Morgan James, can not miss the beauty of the beautiful Jasmin Walker who also has a sensational voice!!
Taylor Dayne was also classically trained in opera.. definitely an edge.
Geno Guerrero yea... now that you brought it up, id have to say Taylor has more soul than Morgan. It's just my opinion but i think that's something Morgan needs to work on even though her technique is flawless, but she's missing that ease and effortless thing that Taylor Dayne has.
She has a wonderful voice and it's much better than the most pop singers! And I love this performance. It's soooo good
Thank you for that fun fact! I love finding out new info on artists like her!
When this video came out this was my first introduction to PMJ. I've been a fan ever since then.
This song is my 1st pick, and 2nd is

when I finally got around to listening to Maroon 5s version, I realized this was far and away the better arrangement. I can't even fathom the reason their version was a hit. I think it put me in a coma.
+Darth Zed it was a hit cause they do it like this anymore in pop music.
Octocaesar gfgghhbj
This version of the song makes the original one sound like shit. What a vocal masterpiece.
Have you heard both on vinyl though? That's what I want :)
original is litteral shit compared to this
PMJ has ruined me for original modern songs. Their covers are so much better, especially All About That Bass - Morgan AND Haley together!
Indeed!
To me this is the original version, honestly! Besides This girl is pure fire!!
Sometimes when you really nail it on a song like this one, it sounds like the song was supposed to be this way from the beginning.
Completely agree!
If you ever have Morgan James performing near you go see her. She is simply amazing. Best live vocals I've heard. 🥰
I've seen her live three times now at the Dakota in Minneapolis and can confirm. She sounds even better in person, she's absolute gorgeous, and very warm and friendly with her fans. I'll keep going back to see her for as long as I can get there.
Now THIS is what is called TALENT! Why isn't Morgan James a household name? We haven Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber and all the rest of them blocking the airwaves when we could be enjoying AMAZING voices like this?!? I am so glad I just happened along this video! A beautiful woman with a gorgeous voice to match! All the best, Morgan! You've earned your place in music history!
AMEN!!! I completely agree! When I heard her version of Call My Name from Prince on the radio I damn near cried it was so beautiful I wanna hear more of her!
yup, need to boycott mtv, vh1 and any music award shows....
Yes!!! I agree 100%
She's been performing on Broadway since 2008 and off Broadway before then. She's well known in the musical theatre world.
Yes, I read that about her. Too bad more people are not into live theatre as much as listening to Top 40, right?
#replayrekked Cannot stop playing this song on infinite loop. Simply amazing...
I heard Maroon 5 made a cover of this
lol. I heard this version first so yes.
This is so great.
Morgan is a real goddess - this voice, this look, this appearance, this body, this movement, this aura, this charisma - simply perfect!!
The fact that this has 20 million views and was clearly filmed in a spare bedroom brings me hope.
Maybe not spare...just emptied for the day
😂😂😂
No, that's my actual bedroom and I sleep on the floor because they are always in there.

Just wanted to say that the interpretation of the song ist perfectly underlined by her facial expression and the minimalistic style of dance...

Oh, she knows how to capture attention... Great Performer.
Morgan James is an absolute powerhouse in the world of music, a vocalist whose extraordinary talent and versatile artistry have set her apart as one of the most compelling performers of her generation. From her early days on Broadway to her stunning solo career, Morgan James has consistently captivated audiences with her soulful voice, impeccable technique, and magnetic stage presence.
James's journey began in the realm of musical theater, where she quickly made a name for herself with standout performances in productions such as "The Addams Family," "Godspell," and "Motown: The Musical." Her time on Broadway honed her skills and showcased her ability to command the stage, drawing rave reviews for her powerful and emotive singing. However, it was her transition to a solo career that truly allowed her to shine and explore the full breadth of her musical abilities.
Her debut solo album, "Hunter," released in 2014, marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The album, a blend of soul, R&B, and pop, highlighted James’s remarkable vocal range and her ability to infuse each song with raw emotion and authenticity. Tracks like "Call My Name" and "Say the Words" display her incredible control and the rich, resonant quality of her voice, earning her a loyal following and critical acclaim.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Morgan James’s career is her dedication to creating and performing music that speaks to her artistic vision. She has a unique talent for reinterpreting classics, as demonstrated in her soulful renditions of songs by legends like Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, and Prince. Her covers are not mere imitations but rather fresh, inspired takes that breathe new life into beloved tracks, showcasing her deep respect for the originals while highlighting her own distinct style.
In addition to her studio albums, Morgan James has gained widespread recognition for her dynamic live performances. Whether on stage with her band or in intimate acoustic settings, she brings a palpable energy and passion to every show. Her ability to connect with audiences, combined with her stunning vocal prowess, makes each performance a memorable experience.
Moreover, James’s collaborations with other artists and her work with the popular music collective Postmodern Jukebox have further expanded her reach and demonstrated her versatility. Her renditions of contemporary hits in a vintage style, as featured with Postmodern Jukebox, are a testament to her creativity and ability to cross genres seamlessly.
Her subsequent albums, such as "Reckless Abandon" and "Memphis Magnetic," have continued to build on her impressive body of work, each project reflecting her growth as an artist and her unwavering commitment to authenticity in her music. "Reckless Abandon" showcases her songwriting prowess and deep emotional resonance, while "Memphis Magnetic" pays homage to the classic soul and blues that have influenced her throughout her career.
Morgan James is a rare talent in today's music landscape. Her career, marked by both critical and commercial success, is a testament to her exceptional abilities as a vocalist, performer, and artist. With each new project, she continues to push boundaries and captivate audiences around the world, solidifying her place as one of the most exciting and dynamic voices in music today. www.candiano.com/
I can appreciate the lyrics of this song so much better in this version vs the original
Ya I dont think I've ever heard much more than the chorus. Now it sounds a lot deeper lyric wise.
Me too, I wouldn’t give it a second thought from m5.
I didn't even know Maroon 5 sang this song. It's like a different thing, man.
I know that everyone is looking at Morgan, but dude this pianist is on fire. Beautiful arrangement.
That's Scott Bradley, the great maestro behind PMJ.
We hear... and we see.. I think most men got the balance about right ;)
As you say, we are looking at Morgan....fuck the piano! 😁👍
The entire PMJb are talented musicians 👍
Garry Harriman 70% of PMJ success is on Scott
Never heard the Maroon 5 version, looked it up this is 100000000000 times better. Holy shit this is good
Never heard the maroon 5 version an never want to.
Unbelivable...what a voice, what a feeling....love it !
That smile at the beginning ....... Yeah, I'm going to slay this song ...... and she did
I never knew obout Morgan, never heard of her, found her by casualty just a couple weeks ago. Honestly, I don´t get it, I´m kind of confused. I´m just trying to undestand why she is not at the top of mainstream music industry by now. There are very few voices that good in the whole world... I´m amazed, even a little disapointed with music industry, she is better than almost any nowadays artist that I can recall...
Morgan James is insane awesome in this clip and she is an amazing live performer. But she has not the right material, her own music is not ...like this. She has to find her songs if she wants a solo career. Or come back to doing stuff like this, she would be successful at it, but it seems she wants her own music to succeed.
Agree!
yup - same for me - clicked a link from a music forum to this 18 months ago on a Saturday morning. I knew right away the rest of the day was fucked after that
Wow it's been six years since this was published in YT. This still remain one of my favorite covers by PMJ.
Me too. I probably watched it over ten times and I'm an old professional guitarist who saw Hendrix.
Have you seen PMJ’s “Creep ”? Also a sublime cover.
@@MrSinnerBOFH Or "All about that bass" You get both of them there
OMG...I can't express how phenomenal Morgan is. Her interpretation of this song is out of this world. Her tone, especially at the high register, coupled with her range from low to high is out of sight. All of this with no auto-tune. Amazing, just Amazing!
OH MY. I AM IN LOVE.
Lmao didn't expect to find you here :P.
too bad she's married to her band member, lucky him!
the guitarist.
you're not the only one
Dude! I got a b.....r just hearing & watching her, my wife gets mad (jealous) as soon as i put morgan or haley!
2:50 That is SOME lung power. I am genuinely impressed. Everybody was great as usual. Thank you Scott and looking forward to your concert in Madrid.
She's Classically trained from Juilliard.
it gave me chills at that point... absolutely beautiful.
she got a voice that completely belies her small size
Alec Zammit Chills? It made me cry.
I died at 00:06 when she looks at the camera and I couldnt't see anything more. Is it a good video?
yeah. I died at 2:53 tho
She's awfully pretty, but she's got a great set of pipes too.
i died too @ 0.06 !
Exactly I was like omg she’s is so beautiful.
Everyone in this thread died during the song, yet left comments.. Proof of life after death confirmed!
For so many many years I have been coming back to this incredible performance. Listened probably over 500 times and still at exactly 3:01 I close my eyes and feel connection to something bigger than this world. Thank you Morgan, thank you Scott, thank you all creating something this divinely beautiful. Did I already say thank you Morgan? Thank you Morgan 🙏❣
Whenever I'm bored, sad, angry or just in need of some good vibes I come watch Morgan James kick ass!
+Stefan Vella She is nr. 1 alpha bird.
Amazing talent, nice body, pretty face. How can someone be so lucky?
Bugar Nugroho I'm sure she didn't have to practice singing and eats nothing but cake
Bugar Nugroho Well, she seems to be a bit arrogant on this record ^^
Bugar Nugroho It's called pride. If you listen to the words, the expression fits perfectly with the message. She's an actress.
Hector Malandrin Arrogant?? You're crazy. That's called stage presence. Being in the groove. Having panache. ... "Arrogant." Sheesh.
Well, it's in her eyes, you're surely right, but i feel arrogance in this x).
I like this better then the original songs go to fast and add technology in to distract from the lyrics I feel like I understand the song much better when sung with heart not machine.
agreed
I feel like you're arguing against effects, not technology. If you look around the room, there's a mess of wires and junk everywhere and that's definitely an electric bass. But even so, a ton of effects can sound good if done tastefully.
All post modern jukebox songs are done using original instruments with actual musicians. Whilst a lot of people write and record music using computers and programming, you CANNOT beat the real live feel of a band playing with great singers. Don't mean to diss the programmers out there as I also write with a pc! Peace.
Even still, it's being mixed and mastered on a computer. I have no doubts they filmed this live, but to think that it would sound like that from raw recordings is insanity.
Recording microphones, and of course they use computer to fix the soud a little bit, that's how you record a song in a studio. There are many ways to do it though.
I go back to this always it's incredible
She has a better voice than 99% of any singer i've ever heard in the mainstream media. It's crazy we get the garbage we do when all this real music and real performance is out there.
Most Pop Music now is overhyped marketing and overproduced sound.
Mainstream everything is garbage. Food, music, comedy, ect.
there are still a lot of fantastic live acoustic performers out there with no auto tune
She’s actually a Broadway star Who was one of the youngest people accepted into Julliard When she was right out of high school. A lot of people don’t really know about her because she’s not a big name, but she’s been around for a while and is of course a great singer.
sharper than a surgical blade. fuck.
LMFAO!
at 2.54 i had a heart attack.
Wow. I'm blown away! Morgan's voice and delivery is out of this world.
How can i unlock that drummer?
HAHAHA lmao
took me a second to get the joke lol.
I cant be the only one who doesn't get it :/ ?
Nobody is going to tell you until you figure it out!
tears
Lana Del Rey has some competition! ;)
Nah (;
This is very much in Joss Stone territory. Now you know the style Joss Stone sings if you never heard of Joss Stone.
Lana requires a lot of reverb in the vocals.
Sweetie , please dont ever compare anyone to lana . Shes incomparable .
***** uhhhhhh
Lana could never pull off something even remotely related to this. She's not that good of a singer.
Have heard it so many times but still can't get enough!
That't the PMJ Spirit! There's never enough ;)
The back up vocals fit like a glove. Perfect sync.
It's what PostmodernJukebox does. They know what they're about.
Yo I think I'm a new fan of hers. That breakdown tho....
She Killed it
Breakdown?
senseless that part in songs after the second verse or second chorus that leads into the final chorus?
TChaos Itself ah I just listen LOL. Don't know the jargon. She has a great voice!
senseless yeah her voice is amazing. I gotta find her music
In general everything on PostmodernJukebox channel presents very high level of artistry and quality, because obviously these musicians are talented. No doubt. But between others there are songs, that are performed absolutely EPIC. And this is one of them. I like the way the drums plays in the background (i mean the sound), with slight delay, this is extraordinary. I like how everybody wear grey and black, while Morgan is colourful and the only blonde one. And when she starts singing... It's highly advisable not to play this to music-sensitive people, because they can melt down.
you lost me on 'artism.' what's that?
I just asked DuckDuckGo, it wants to know if I'm interested in learning about autism. Am I?
@@stevoblevo i meaned artistry, sorry, bad translation ;)
Agree with Everything this comment. Plus I did in fact melt down and lost some weight.
I couldn't agree more!
Most of them are classically trained musicians. You wont find too many garage band self taught band members on PMJ
her voice is gorgeous
like life ;3
gorgeous*
Aahbozz ;)
Much voice. Such likes
no shit
I think that Morgan is one of those people that has the full package… highly talented to the point of being a professional on the high end of the spectrum…just short of being a big star….for now. She really stands out. I was introduced to her via the « Barbie Girl » video and was truly taken aback by the contrast between her beautiful, in-crowd, normie look and her soulful performance chops. I just had to see/hear a little more of that because she’s got the it factor. This is the first time I put words to my feelings about this, and I’m glad I got it out.
When Morgan James was born, god must have had a very very generous day
Hell yea!
She just needs a "S" on the front of her shirt.
Why?
@@habitarikindred4604 Because supergirl!!!!!! Like a real one not a CW one.
@@habitarikindred4604 "S" for Smokin'
And my face under her skirt
Supergirl
0:05 dat look
+Dodec84 Agreed.
+Dodec84 tssssssss.....
+Dodec84 That's the "eargasm inbound in 5 4..." look. To me it looks like she's saying "listen to THIS!"
Naah, after someone told something funny right before the recording cut in, she now tries to hide her smile, thinking "sad song, dead puppies, dead puppies".
+Dodec84 Thought the same thing. Yum
Can we just appreciate the amazing back up singers for a moment? 🔥
No??????why
Just an interesting statistic. The male backing singer checks out Morgan James' ass 14 times throughout the song. Credit to him, though, he seems to get more and more frustrated with himself and determined not to every time he slips up. Can't be easy.
It's OK.
+Limerick Goblin He taped the lyrics to her ass in case he forgot them halfway through the song.
+Limerick Goblin Cannot be unseen
+Limerick Goblin she was checking her out too then. Actually I believe there's a monitor that they can see themselves and that's what he was looking at.
+Limerick Goblin At 0:55 he thinks she's turning her head and he was like "NOPE"
I miss the guy with tambourine
Yep, he is really cool & positive. When I look at him I wanna dance with that guy:)
Tambourine guy is the real mvp
He will 360 noscope you with his tambourine
ToxiconGaming Having a dude 360 noscope you, sounds like it should be in gay porn..?
You've never heard of that? It's a thing from call of duty people like to make fun of.
I can't stop listening to this masterpiece
Im disappointed that i can only like this video once
i wish there was an infinite like button so that I can keep pressing on it for this song.
there is just right click on the video and say loop
I bought the song from Amazon. I play it as a loop when I get up in the morning and get dressed.
+Proehal та же херня.))))
а я коньяк
+Proehal хаха а я сейчас с ней зажигаю по полной
Besides the amazing voice and performance Morgan is beautiful
7 seconds in, that glare at the camera. Dear god kill me now.
I know right? damn...
Check out the PMJ version of "all about the bass", if you like that look at the camera, you'll love this. (PMJ has several versions, the one with the three ladies in leopard style print dresses)
Damn. It felt like that was just for me. You felt that too? Shit.
I watched the first 10 seconds about 5 times before I let it run.
Felt more like she is in love with herself, as most female singers are from my experience recording with them.
