RUclips needs to add a "standing ovation" button. A like button doesn't do PMJ collaborations justice.
The PMJ arrangements are among the best I have ever heard. I'm always glad I took a few moments to watch and listen.
Cannot agree more!!
yes...that would be most welcomed
Very well said
Yeah, I pressed all the good buttons, including the bell and that’s just not enough buttons...
She doesn't even look like she's breaking a sweat. She just walks in, punches you in the face with her amazing voice and goes like an absolute legend.
So very true!!
On the side notes of You Tube there is a video of Aerosmith singing Dream On with the Southern CA Children's Choir, and here is Morgan packing more punch with her one voice and small ensemble that over takes anything Steven Tyler and his crew could put out.
In most of the clubs where she sings, she does double duty as the main act AND the bouncer... 😏
Wait until you hear her sing Led Zeppelin. I swear to God you're gonna cry. It's that good.
De acuerdo!!!
THIS. Is the gold standard of a cover. Period.
No , that is Loose yourself by Kasey Chambers. But you probably don't know that song yet .You'll see.Promise .
Kasey Chambers changes a lot of the emotional context for Rage to fear and does a wonderful job. Gold standard probably doesn't change the emotions of the song in general. Thanks for sharing that I didn't know about it until I read your post.
Another example for "gold standard could be Johnny Cash's cover "Hurt"
Once upon a time, some people got together and made magic. This is that.
That microphone needed a cigarette after that performance.
I know I did....
@@JusBidniss Yeah...
And not just a cigarette
You definitely got a chuckle and a grin out of me. Also my ears took up smoking.
Hahahaahah, extly, maybe we all needed too
It doesn't matter how many times I watch this -- I get the chills every time.
her voice is so relaxing
I was going to say the same thing
I know! I’m in love with this cover. Can’t stop listening to it!
Yea dude. Every time
Me too! What a voice
Fantastic version. What a voice!!! It would sound perfect for a James Bond film.
pensé en lo mismo
It really is as they say, "It's The SINGER, not the song".
Yeah
Oh, yeah. "Femme fatale" for sure.
to replace Shirlеy Manson?)
In 1973, Aerosmith wrote and perfomed a cover of this song. It was an impressive feit, because Morgan James had not yet performed the original version of the song.
Ow come off it, this lady can't match Steven Tyler, the song was made for his voice.
Exactly, haha! The cover came 40 and something years before the original. 😮
This song. Can we all just agree that this is the greatest American rock and roll song of all time.
And that, kids, is the very definition of 'singing one's heart out'.
Well said sir
I'm your 666 thumb up, sir.
pee you
Her voice....HER VOICE! It's liquid gold down my ears! Eargasmic.
I'm not 100% sure liquid gold being poured down your ears would be something good though.
Please correct me if I'm wrong
+AwesomeNuke I just asked my mom and she confirmed pouring Velveta into your ear is fucking rad
***** I like you.
I perforated an ear drum a few months back, still experiencing some pain and hearing issuses, but I put both ear buds in just to get the full benefit of her voice with this song!!
Now, this is how you repurpose a song! This is, by far , the best cover I have ever listened to.
Haley Rinehart singing Im a Creep...
Did you see PMJ's cover of "Creep" with Haley Rinehart??? It is just as good as this one! 😊
@@debbismith-moore8940 I have, pretty amazing!

You are my darling!!!
Like a boss.
You know that feeling when a person has heard a song many times, but then suddenly feels like they have never heard it before? That is how I felt hearing this. PMJ and James hit it out of the park. I still get chills listening to this. James! Her voice.. holy cow.
PMJ arrangements are fabulous. It's never what I expect, but I always enjoy listening. Real artists, real professionals... just fantastic.
Dear Joe,
Thank you. I teach aesthetics and you have given me just the words to explain this unexplainable experience...
It's called jamais-vu i think
I was obsessed with Aerosmith in the 90's I had a greatest hits CD and would listen to this song on repeat. I know exactly what you mean
- She's beautiful, really well built and has a great voice but can she out sing Stephen?
There is no song that this woman cannot absolutely knock out of the park! What an absolute joy to hear!
Could she manage Mariah Carrie's whistle notes?
Okay I'm excluding rap and foreign language stuff.
After 7 years, still same goose bumps...
i'm very impressed with her enunciating every word.
most singers, even talented ones, sacrifice enunciation to give extra air to their sound.
agree..could never understand some of Tyler's lyrics..but loved the song and his range
you should listen to lea salonga
She’s a Broadway actor, so enunciation comes with the territory 👍
Diction can be preserved, even at vocal extremes, if you make it a priority.
Part of classical training includes diction.
she hit that note and a tear dropped out of my eye :')
wow dude, same :') That was sooo intense
Same ways, gotta admit.
That's nothing, should hear Morgan do _Phantom of the Opera_
watch?v=AlOjQBWJrsY
Me too, made me cry like a bitch
Michael Lemke should have taken it higher at the end.
This is probably the most beautiful experience on You Tube I've ever had..
It took me seven years to see this??!! I just cried listening to her sing this amazing song. Move over Steven.
I also just found this in 2024 and literally tears formed instantly, what a performance!
When she sang, "Sing with me" my soul yelled, "Nah you got this!" 👐🏿

THE BEST COMMENT I'VE READ, YOU ARE SPOT ON
Next BOND THEME should be sung by her!
It should be a duet with Haley really.
good shout...she would nail it...Adele who??

Fernando García *sung :)
Yağmur Deniz I don't knew what your talking about, that's what I writed.
Postmodern Jukebox is where one understands the lyrics and the depth of the same too , what a powerful cover !
I finally understood what this song is about. The original sounds epic but it was about the experience of the delivery than the meaning of the song. This combines a great delivery while being able to understand the song
*My asthma could never.*
I also have asthma, and I agree with you.
🤣🤣
I disagree :₽ I also have asthma
mine neither
Hahahahahaha take my like!
I cooked my steak, did my laundry, drove to work, got in an accident on my way home, had to stay at the hospital for like a week, came back home, and she's *still* in the middle of a high note.

You made steak for breakfast?
I sang this comment on bass while the song was playing.

Steak and eggs, my dude. 👍😋
Musicians are 10/10. But the voice! The voice is from heavens. So powerful, so clean, so much energy!
I haven't heard this kind of emotion in a voice in decades. She is in the class of Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone, etc. The youth of today have not been exposed to such voice given the electronics to alter the pure emotion of a lyric.
This is what they mean when they say, “make it your own.”
Hot damn 🔥🔥🔥
If she hit that note any harder, it would be pressing assault charges.
that note is going to hospital
I want this assault! :)
hit me baby one more time
And, the winner is Michelle Browne. Fecking brilliant. If I still had a job hiring writers, you'd be on my team tomorrow.
@@stevekallaugher2325 I will admit I'm a writer by profession! I'm just glad so many people liked my joke. :)
No auto tune, no fake electronics, just pure freaking talent from every single person
Omg there's really no auto tune ??
Some people use autotune in their songs refuting that they don't have the talent.
Buble was good until he went to the dark side of the Force.
You do know pitch correction also exists right?
Pitch correction is not necessary for a truly talented singer. Morgan James corrects herself in REAL TIME. That's TRUE talent.
I'm here again to get my daily dose....
A cover that I will never get tired of, no matter how many times I listen to it... Great arrangement, high quality sound, wonderful playing and amazing vocal by Morgan James!
Oh. My. God. Amazing!
My ears. My mind.
Where. Who. What Just Happened?!?
Morgan James, you are wonderful, they should hire you to sing the theme song for the new James Bond movie, what a voice.
She could sing the entire movie AND be a Bond girl. MY GOD! What kind of sorcery WAS that?
@@RspbyLmn hahaha thats exactly what i thought when i read his comment !!
but the singer of 007 will be crappy (IMHO) billi eilish... so sad
I thought just this, I didn’t see this post until after I wrote it
@@AA-gi7ot You must be tone deaf, if Billie sounds crappy to you, no wonder you liked this video as you can only appreciate when the singer is screaming, not singing.
Ladies and gentlemen: we have just been presented with a master class in how to cover a classic rock song. There have been many covers of "Dream On", but nothing like this. Magnificent!
Yep ... back for my periodic fix. Honestly, the best high I've ever had and continues to thrill me anew each time I listen. What a gift for the senses. What a blessing for a mere mortal.
The best one who sang it, the best performance. Better than the original version, strong, resonant and melodious voice 🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿❤️❤️❤️❤️❤
Morgan James is awesome!
Rap Box por aqui, dois excelentes canais de música
she take down any female singer i have heard, that vocal power is God like
Saquei de onde vem a inspiração do "Orgânico" haha. Muito bom!
Stephen Tyler called : give me my song back !!! Man Morgan owns it !!!
@@richardfurlott4243 if Stephen asks for it then as good as it is Morgan is still in borrowed territories. Ain't got nothing on the og
During the "dream on" section, I just found myself laughing at how mindblowing Morgan's voice is. Absolutely incredible, and a great arrangement of a classic to boot.
I had a tear in my eye. Absolutely amazing
You think it's at the level!
(and then it goes up a level).
(AND THEN IT GOES UP A LEVEL!) ✨
Why is Morgan criminally underrated? Just saw her latest album on Spotify and her songs barely have any attention. It is so discouraging. She's got a magnificent voice.
Still one of the most passionate performances I've ever seen. Well done!
What a time we live in. This level of performance used to be available to kings and queens... not the paupers.
LOL calm down
very true! I wish it wouldn't be taken for granted
LMAO
And she is classically trained in opera!! She went to julliard at 17! In case you wanted to feel more inferior lol I know I do
...🤦♂️
Ahhhh the opera training explains her impeccable technique ( but you have the to the talent training only sharpens it)
There are more important traits in a person, than how good they sing. Although we probably all admire this good singer... no reason to feel inferior. Life is no singing competition.
I have trouble playing the radio.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!! Priceless comment!
Somebody give her a Grammy already ….
That would be a great achievement for the Grammy Awards.
Morgan closed her 90 minute live show last night with this song. It was breathtaking.

I'm a little jealous - was going to travel from NZ to SF just to see her - then the Varous struck.
Her cover of Blue by Joni Mitchell is astonishing.
expected those "dream on" full blown falsetto screams though. but i can't deny this was just magnific
-ent
She hit a bit of a head-voice moment to nod to the original. That kind of going-high isn't the same task for a female voice as it is for a male one.
Efm, what so you mean with that? Is it harder or easier for women to hit those notes?
BadassRandomness It's hard to speak generally about it, because anyone has to work hard at cultivating that high register. But in my experience as a female vocalist and in learning from and teaching male vocalists, I find that men typically have a little bit of a clearer and healthier access to that which we call "falsetto" than us women have with going into a high whistle voice and making it have sufficient power and control. When we do with our voices the same mechanical thing that men do for falsetto, it just comes out as an airy weird cheer-whoop thing that is extremely hard to train for vocal control, and most women simply develop a different register to get high and "belt" those super high scream-like notes instead. It's not exactly harder or easier for anyone, basically, just different for each and each gender's version of hitting those high wails comes out differently and has different implications for fatiguing their voice.
E.B. Efm Thanks for the reply!
Wow, that's very interesting. I would have thought that it would have been the opposite, for some reason haha.
Would someone please tell me how could anybody give her a thumbs down ?--She has to be one of the greatest singer in my lifetime , and I am 70 years old !
those are russians, they are always messing with voting
Right!? A friend of mind just turned me on to her. I’m 64.

I'm 74 and professional drummer. I have played behind some great vocalists. I would play behind her for free! OMG she is good.
Anyone who gives her a thumbs down has to be deaf!!
I've always said that I wanted this song to be sang at my funeral, now after hearing it sang this way, I want THIS VERSION!!!!❤❤❤
At this point can we just all agree that this is the greatest American rock and roll song of all time.
When I listen to Morgan James, all my neighbours listen to Morgan James.
I like your attitude!
It's a quarter after three in the morning. My neighbor probably heard that.

I've been watching PMJ for years, but when I saw the title of this song, I thought to myself "whoever is singing this song will make or break this cover. I held my breath as my eyes timidly and nervously inched towards the name..And long behold...MORGAN JAMES!! That voice. That Band. That Song. That Passion and Soul! On the list of top 10 things that has ever been done on planet earth....And the creation of the earth is on that list.
Dibi Jo Roberts you made me smile
Thx for your comment
Love it, how they take any song, this amazing powerful song and make it in their own style. Their rendition of this classic and arrangement, her voice, is absolutely sensational. Any song that they do, is absolutely incredible and delivery is just perfect.
My gosh, what a voice she has.
Seriously, I didn't think anybody could ever top Aerosmith on this song, but, blown away.
Dio did it.
Indeed. But all of that also speaks to the writing itself. It’s simply a great song. And from her, the meaning and story that the the lyrics tell comes screaming through. 👍🏻👍🏻
She’s an absolutely amazing singer, but let’s not ignore that strut to the microphone. Award worthy.
Yes, that 1-2-3-turn was flawless!
It really sets the tune for what is coming-Amazing singing!!!
... that "strut" warns you to sit down and buckle up ... cause you are about to be blown away !!!

Wasn't it, tho? lol
Incredible arrangement, exceptional musicians and Morgan James is phenomenal! She gave everything she had, and shows what years of hard training can do! ❤

OMG, Morgan James singing resonates deep down through out her being from the tip of her head to the bottom of her toes & her entire spirit & soul, reaching out & touching yours! Awesome!
Une démarche féline, un corps de déesse et cette voix, puissante et sensuelle, une énergie communicative qui donne des frissons...
Good god. It’s like the song was written just so 40 years later, she could sing it.
Awesome emotion
I didn't believe... no. Let me start again. I thought I knew, I was sure, I kind of built my life on the fact that nobody could do this better than Aerosmith. This was THE UNCOVERABLE SONG!
And now this....
What an incredible rendition of this song!!!!! Powerful, intense and absolutely beautiful. Morgan has such an incredible range!
Saw her perform this last Friday at the Dakota Club in Minneapolis. Even better live and in person. What a voice she has!

For a completely different genre featuring Morgan, take a look at "Barbie Girl" covered by PMJ. Her voice (what can I say?). Her mannerisms, facial expressions, etc. Just wow.

This is a truly wonderful arrangement, for an exceptional voice.
So true. All the musicians are highly talented, and the arrangement is brilliant
Scott Bradley's arrangements are amazing, and he works with the best vocalists he can find.

Great voice check .
Well crafted musical rearrangement check.
Goosebumps double check .
Well said. Bravo.
yes, the moment of the begining "mmm" is something elusively incredible.
The cello solo was totally awesome - really fresh and original, thumbs up! It is very difficult to shine behind Morgan James - she is so dominant and brilliant with her voice and drop dead gorgeous on top of that, that attention is completely focused on her, but the band is absolutely great and meshes together so well.

And the Jukebox to arrange and perform it.
As great as this'd be I'm pretty sure the James Bond creators only look for British artists to sing their themes :(
maybe ..but they've used..Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Chris Cornell,Gladys Knight, Carly Simon, Nancy Sinatra, Tina Turner, in the past, so there's still hope for PMJB

It was much more exciting then the original song... I don't believe how I missed this on PMJ... all these 7 years! Awesome❤
I feel like this could have been the opening theme to a “Bond” film . . . her voice could probably make “Old Macdonald” sound like a blockbuster!

I’m sorry but your wrong. If she did this in a Bond movie, Bond would get all tuned on in the opening credits, and we would all have to roll over and go to sleep before we got into the first act. It would be the shortest Bond movie EVER!
