You know, the point of Postmodern Jukebox is to play new music in a way that you wouldn't expect it to work. And the funny thing about this song is that you could put this exact version into a movie set in the 50's and no one would be the wiser. The lyrics actually even fit something that would have been done in that era. Bravissima.
Von Smith is such a talented singer, living the whole story simultaneously while singing. He sings as a movie star. This man deserves a Hollywood musical. 💫🧿
My thoughts exactly! He is really acting the song as well. It’s funny, playful and very very impressive; what an incredible voice. He is in total control of his movements, expressions his voice all at the same time.
Back-vocal girls are so good, really. And that guy is also just excellent! This is the case when cover is 100% better than the original! And this one is my favorite of all PMJ!

Von smith is probably my new favorite singer when it comes to old styles of music. His voice seems almost unmatched by even today's pop artists. I know it sounds biased since i listen to mainly metal and hate pop music with a passion, but i could only imagine if smith did collabs with dion, roy orbison, or maybe even buddy holly if he was alive back then.
I'm absolutely in love with Robyns dress. The retro 50's soda fountain dress with that adorable waist belt is such a nice look especially with the bandana in her hair.

Von is brilliant and the backup singers (and their synchronisation) is freaking immaculate. My favourite PMJ piece.....by far.
I've never heard the original so as far as I'm concerned this is exactly what this song is supposed to sound like. And it's perfection.
The original is like some weird fusion of reggae, pop and rock. It's NOWHERE near as good as this version.
Okay, got to hand it to this guy - he hits the notes as perfectly as my limited understanding of such things can tell. Respect.
That dude has some serious pipes. Love it!

If you have two background singers of that caliber, you better be very very good. And yep, he totally nails it! What a joy to listen to and watch.

Pleeeeeaase invite this guy back! I'm absolutely in love with this rendition and his vocal abilities! He's a real treat!
This and Maps with Morgan James are my favorite PMJ songs.
Wow same here actually. I personally would also throw in Take Me to Church with Morgan James and Straight Up w/ Ashely Stroud.
Is it bad that my two favorites are Anaconda and Wiggle. The are not the same this way and I just seem to like it better
Aidan Black wiggle is freaking fabulous, honestly. mine are Timber and All about that bass
my favs are wiggle and we can't stop
