a lot of the credit has to go to the arrangement, & whole concept for pmj. the guy at the piano Scott Bradlee. he's the 1 who came up with the idea of taking pop songs & doing them in the old styles. so u have the old & the new. what was once pop is pop again. what could be considered outdated is current again, cuz quality & good music never goes out of style. at least i think it was his idea. i guess it could be someone else's & he executed it well. but ya, he's pretty good at staying low key. cuz ive never seen any1 here mention him at all, much less recognize what he's done. this is great stuff. i havent been impressed by a 'style' of music like this in a very long time. & of course von is great, cuz he expresses the music so well. from 2:33, i just start grinning uncontrollably cuz his vocal expression just makes me so happy all the way to the end. god this is so incredible how we're able to get this calibre of perf & music on youtube, & its pretty much Free. amazing. this is 1 of the things that make life worth living. music is so powerful & this song is just pure joy & happiness. in a world that can be so full of darkness & pain that tries to divide us, this is the kind of stuff that unites us & brings us hope & light :)

I really love Von's voice, he is simply amazing singer! But the other hand, I like so much the vintage covers, many times are better than the original songs!
I stumbled no your channel yesterday and have been binging all clips ever since. You guys have forced me to break my habit of listening to death metal all day and I thank you for it. You have managed to turn all the pop song I dislike so much into something so organically seamlessly beautiful it's made this cold day bright and me happy like a sun in the Summer.
I wonder why pop doesn't invest in real musicians, and making the arrangements better like this. I think everybody would still love it instead of making it so electronic and sharp. BEATLES were the pop in that time.
That's the problem, the distribution of wealth is not balanced, there's a guy who's thinking where can we cut back in costs. But he doesn't get it, he's cutting back in the SOUL of music, music is about the people!!
***** How are synthesisers any different to electronic music in terms of "realness"? Also I think comparing The Beatles, who were innovative and influential, to current pop musicians who don't claim to be, is unfair. There have been a lot of successful but in no means groundbreaking musicians in the past. The only difference is that people have forgotten them. Minaj, Bieber and other musicians have their own audience who listen to music for different reasons that you listen to it. They have their own audiences, and they are successful at what they do. It may not be to your taste, but don't act like they aren't proper musicians because they don't meet your standards of what a musician is.
I think threre should be a responsability to educate tastes. Not just put the equivalent to p*rn on tv. I for once think it's unfair to call a channel MTV (music television) when you don't show music at all, just reality shows... Am I acting like it's not a proper music channel? Well it's not.
I think Von Smith has the correct voice for this song. He just stumbled a few parts which makes just shows how hard singing is without autotune. The original doesn't do justice to this cover.
This cover is awesome. So much better in a male voice with a different flow. It worked for Swift as a success but the actual song seems to have a future and life of it's own.

ScottBradleeLovesYa One does not simply let the tambourine be played by one who isn't The Tambourine Guy.
But hopefully the next song will feature The Tambourine Guy without tambourine, tapdancing. Please??
Given how crowded it was in that studio for this one, I'm not sure Tambourine Guy would've been such a good idea. I did miss him, though...
YES YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT
and a kazoo?
If you notice all the videos the tambourine guys in they're all in New York so he might still be living in new york
I think tambourine guy would have given this song/video and added extra energy...
I really love Von's voice, he is simply amazing singer! But the other hand, I like so much the vintage covers, many times are better than the original songs!
I love this station ,You learn the real words to the songs ,well done my friends, back ground girls are awesome, real music
I thought good music had stopped around 1990. PMJ have given me hope. Every song by PMJ is top quality.
This is so cool! Everyone has such good voices and the instrumental is awesome.
Give me more of Von covering pop songs originally sung by female artists. Please. We all need more of it.
That horn section.....omg!
Wow... I keep watching this performance and it remains unbelievable.
A great performer! Like this guy! thanks Von Makes me feel good about life!!
***** You do realise that The Beatles used a lot of synthesiser in their later songs?
Are you comparing The Beatles to dubstep or justin bieber, or Nicky Minaj? I mean... Many rock bands used synths.
WHAT A VOICE WHAT A BAND,SOME ONE PLEASE PUT THESE ON THE ALBERT HALL LONDON THEY FULLY DESERVE THE FAME
My very last finals ever for undergrad are tomorrow, so afterwards I will be blasting these songs all day!
I hope they went well!
DaphieG thanks, they did; graduating tmr! :)
I think Von Smith has the correct voice for this song. He just stumbled a few parts which makes just shows how hard singing is without autotune.
The original doesn't do justice to this cover.
Von's mad vocal control gives me the shivers. That lead into the chorus from the bridge hits me deep.
This cover is awesome. So much better in a male voice with a different flow. It worked for Swift as a success but the actual song seems to have a future and life of it's own.
Can't quite put my finger on why, but this is my favorite video from you guys... maybe ever.
My new morning routine is coffee and Von to wake me up and put me in a good mood.
Did anyone notice that they credited Alex MacDonald as "not tambourine guy"?
+Abbie Hoffman DId you know the real Tambourine Guy? He is playing in other PMJ's videos, so i guess the explanation is for avoid confusion.
Right, I just love the way they credited him
+Abbie Hoffman yep. I noticed earlier that Alex was not Tim (the overactive Tambourine Guy), so i jumped at the credits just to check.
He's okay, i guess... but i miss Tim :(
the gurl right at the left stares into your soul
+Nicole Morris I'm in love with her.
+Nicole Morris it´s true!
No you're wrong. Look at the trombone guy at the right. He's look right into your soul actually. :D
O.O
Got to to get past the guy on the right........its his sister...watch out.
He’s what Overwhelmed Talent looks and sounds like.
