Von Smith, dude, you nailed it! Your pronounciation of EVERY WORD is SOLID. You definately are feeling the song. YOU SHOULD BE DOING BROADWAY, if you aren't already. Love the facial expressions, too. Keep up the great great, Von! Love it..
To push the negative comments out of the water, I absolutely love this cover. I can't get enough of it. Von is fantastic and amazing and adorable and did I say fantastic? You can't get everything perfect and authentic. You get a different person singing a style and it'll never be exact. Maybe they're used to singing a certain way so they'll bring their own thing to the performance. I don't get pretentious vibes from this, I just see a man trying to hold himself back from dancing his ass off while singing. This cover along with Von's performance brings more power to the song than the original, in my opinion.
Love it too! I mean, that's a cover for X's sake! Had to put a little bit of something more than just singing into it. That way it has a new soul and an impressive strength. And well, I love the way Von Smith can make a show out of every song. Kinda "singin' actor" style - not the singin' that can just pass you by, but something that demands attention and takes you with itself, to fully enjoy the music. It's just perfect.
I want to give thanks to the group of people who decided to make this channel. I recognize some of the singers and it's really nice to see them again. Great selection of songs and era. I'm hooked!
Man why have I not seen more of him? Besides the fact that he's got an awesome range, can conquer Sia in a style over half a century pre-Sia, and gets passionate about what he's singing in a way only someone who loves what they're doing truly can? He's straight up adorable. If y'all in the rest of the world aren't gonna give him the fame and set up he deserves at least let me be his friend or something, damn
I think Von Smith has to be my favorite PMJ singer! Such a clear voice with such a range vocally and expressionwise! :D Always like the songs he's featured on.
He's one of my favorites too :) I just wish he'd have a little more fun with stylizing the vocals, sometimes they still come across too similar to the original versions, but he still makes me smile
I think it has to do with fitting into the genre he's aiming for. In the 50s they didn't get too crazy with styling. They pretty much sang it straight.

It is just a bit unnecessary. Some suspenders are made to connect with belts but traditionally it is looked as gaudy. Fir this time period style he should have just worn suspenders.

This is beautiful, good lord. I have my grandparents records from back in the day and this reminds me of some of those times when they would listen to them and dance in their living room in the evenings. You could just feel that old fashioned love between them and it was magical. He looks like he's really enjoying singing and it just adds something to the performance.
Every cover with Von Smith is amazing.. I just Love the way he sings... in this video he flawlessly represents 40s. Clothing, singing, apearance. Even hairstyle and face expressions. And the fact that this person looks so full of energy and positive feelings makes me enjoy this song even more. Good job PMJ. keep it up :))
