Hat off to Geoff for pulling off this impossible Metallica acapella arrangement. What a bunch of F'king pros!
Oh to have been a fly on the wall for Geoff bringing this one to the guys. I can just imagine the conversation: Geoff : "Alright guys, this one's gonna be a bit different. It's Metallica, but it's gonna be relaxed and easy (for me). Eli, Cesar, J, nothing crazy (by the way how high can you sing?). Layne, you just have to do a basic rock drum set (sing, AND play violin)." Eli: *gets a glint in his eyes and just grins* Cesar: *looks at Eli* "Bro, you ok?" J: *just laughs* Layne: *gives a sly, impish grin and says* "(carrot) cake."

I'm *so* glad J was able to join for this one, because his voice is just perfect here. Eli is, appropriately, the absolute rock star of this song. Layne gets to show off in a jaw-dropping way, but I won't spoil that. Cesar's earnest, breathy tone is gorgeous. Geoff is just awesome. I mean always, but a heaping of extra bassy awesomeness here. Such a masterful arrangement and production all around ❤

I haven't been able to listen to Nothing Else Matters for a long time, because it used to be "our song" in a relationship that turned emotionally abusive and hurt me very deeply. Your version took the pain from it and enabled me to love the original again, on top of being one of the best things you guys ever made. Thank you so, so much
I cried from pure joy watching this the first time on Patreon. As someone on the autistic spectrum, this song has always been a practically spiritual experience for me. James Hetfield spoke to my soul with Nothing Else Matters and now VoicePlay sang into it.

Assisti e fiquei voltando o vídeo várias vezes.. sem acreditar! Se aqui na terra o ser humano é capaz de tanta proeza com a música.. eu fico imaginando os anjos no céu cantando pra Deus deve ser de arrepiar!
I've always been a sucker for songs that evoke an emotional response from me. When Metallica released this one, I enjoyed it, but it didn't initially *grab* me. A few months later, I fell into what turned out to be a rather rough time in my life, and I heard it again (it *was* rather ubiquitous), and it was like hearing it for the first time. This time, it hit me straight in the core of my being and completely resonated with me. (In retrospect, my interpretation of the song at that time was not the same as James Hetfield's in writing it, but hey, music has always been subjective! 😁) Fast forward to now... to hear a stripped down, a cappella version from you that still maintains that *feel* of the original? This was another blow directly to my core. This time I'm older (and I'd like to think wiser), but it still staggered me. This arrangement is just mind blowing in how it *feels* simple, but is oh so complex. 🤯 My jaw is still in residence on the floor, and I canNOT thank you enough for this, guys. 🤘🏻💕

I love the fact that while everyone else is screaming up in the rafters, Geoff looks like he's literally trying to hold down the low end. It's like he's worried they're going to end up in orbit :)
They knocked it out of the park, and straight into solar orbit! :D
I spent 25 years in the music/Broadway entertainment industry.I have listen to this Repeatedly And each time there is a different reason for all the hairs standing up on the back of my neck.Grinning like the cheshire cat with a tear trickling from one eye, bravo gentleman bravo !!
These guys are Fantastic
These guys are true professionals- that was a masterful performance! ❤
Не поколонник Metallica, но сейчас удивили. Превосходно! После исполнения песни Цоя посмотрела на них с интересом. А сейчас покорили меня окончательно. Браво!!!
Troppo bravi direi immensi😅😅😅😅😅
I am a metallica fan for ages… when i heard this the first time i went crazy. This was the song i thought Voiceplay would fall on me.. but no.. you crushed me and proved that you couldn’t do wrong in my life. So, everytime Voiceplay or Geoff releases a new video… I’m like: take a deep breath and get ready!.. and i’m never ready… you guys always break me
I'm sorry, but LAYNE ON THE VIOLIN?!?!?!?!!?! I was NOT expecting that at all!! This entire arrangement and performance was absolutely amazing, and it was so good to have J. None back! VoicePlay, you are SO incredibly talented, I love y'all, and keep it up!!!
What about this: Another bites the Dust by Queen.
When music is so powerful it moves you to tears then you know it is something special. Grammy!
Music, my drug of choice🥰. Outstanding, transporting, life changing❤️
Wow, Geoff has really outdone himself this time. Absolutely incredible arrangement.
You all are amazing! And yay, Violayne has returned!
Violayne😂
First time listener, longtime Metallica fan. This is phenomenal.
I have to say Eli really shone in this. The right amount of melody, harmony, high, presence, rasp at times, etc.
Hats off sir! 👏
He is the most rock’n roll tenor 2 that I ever heard, let’s do any Heavy metal songs for Voiceplay to do.
WOW!!! That blew me away!
This is the best acapella cover of a song I’ve ever heard. Replaying it over and over. So powerful and moving. Be proud guys! ❤
Thing I love about these arrangements…first listen, it blows your socks off. After about five more listens and you find all the amazing little nuisances, next thing you know you have no clothes on.
OK, that was SHOCKINGLY good.
Eli is soaring so high he made it into a low earth orbit, and then when you think you saw it all and even the camera is shaking - hey, lets throw a violin at Layne and see what happens...
Hat off to Geoff for pulling off this impossible Metallica acapella arrangement.
What a bunch of F'king pros!
I forgot to breathe. Amazing...
Thank you so much 💓
Oh to have been a fly on the wall for Geoff bringing this one to the guys. I can just imagine the conversation:
Geoff : "Alright guys, this one's gonna be a bit different. It's Metallica, but it's gonna be relaxed and easy (for me). Eli, Cesar, J, nothing crazy (by the way how high can you sing?). Layne, you just have to do a basic rock drum set (sing, AND play violin)."
Eli: *gets a glint in his eyes and just grins*
Cesar: *looks at Eli* "Bro, you ok?"
J: *just laughs*
Layne: *gives a sly, impish grin and says* "(carrot) cake."
That about sums it up!
@@Thevoiceplay lol.
Well it's like we read you as a book
What about this: I'd Die For You by Bon Jovi
Eli and J, how high can you sing?
Caesar, if us three sing, can you manage to humm along? We promise to let you sing one line solo, near the end!
been tossing this around my friend groups singing the praises of this cover so might as well share the praise here as well
It's amazing, the way everything is laid out, the build up; the violin solo straight up making me feel some kind of deep, feral, primordial emotion that sends shivers down my spine everytime
This cover is straight up amazing
Were it possible to wear out a digital track, that's exactly what I would have done over on Patreon. This is one of my favourite, if not top VoicePlay things ever. I still get chills.
Definitely, Eil Jacobson have seriously rockn’roll side for his perching high notes like heavy metal or rock singers, he is definitely a keeper for Voiceplay.
@@deanmarion5477 my favorite rocker.
@@bethjeans3780 : definitely
Grandma approved 😊
What a piece of art!
What an amazing arrangement! These guys are supremely talented.
This is brilliantly sung! And this is the best band I've heard in the last 30 years.
the beatbox/instrumental to violin drop id fucking hard dude talk about talented
This is truly truly ❤the best vocal setup ever and best production of this song 💘 ever , i love it
I hope metallica has seen this. It's absolutely awesome. I love this song to begin with but you guys took this to a whole nother universe. It was brilliant.
I haven't been able to listen to Nothing Else Matters for a long time, because it used to be "our song" in a relationship that turned emotionally abusive and hurt me very deeply. Your version took the pain from it and enabled me to love the original again, on top of being one of the best things you guys ever made. Thank you so, so much
Can relate to that
You guys will forever be my favorite way for checking out the full range of any wireless earbuds I buy.
You all so in harmony...Geoff has the super bass, but you all together so wonderful harmonic....🎉
brought me to tears, this was my late friend's favorite.
I cried from pure joy watching this the first time on Patreon. As someone on the autistic spectrum, this song has always been a practically spiritual experience for me. James Hetfield spoke to my soul with Nothing Else Matters and now VoicePlay sang into it.
Teary from reading your comment.
What a testament
Yay! Another autistic voiceplay fan! So am I!
This turned out to be my #1 played song on spotify for 2023. No complaints there!!!!!!

Guys, you all are unbelievably awesome and HEY J.NONE!!!!
I can’t hear the 4:54 is it my headphones?
There's no E1 chest on 4:54, i can't hear it
@@dreir1321 I heard a really brief beathy and low chest note by Geoff, I turned the volume on the absolute maximum
Perfecto
E1 CHEST???? I don’t hear it either, but my headphones stink. Geoff needs to tell us if that happened!!
I didn't think this song could get any better! Those bass notes........❤
Metallica never gets old! These guys just rocked it. Loved it when the violin kicked in. BET!
Holy mother WOW!!
Nunca vi nada igual! Todas as vozes impecáveis! A do cara do cabelão meu Deus que grave sem igual perfeita esse grave . Sinceramente me emocionou demais! Assisti 4 vezes ! Assisti e fiquei voltando o vídeo várias vezes.. sem acreditar! Se aqui na terra o ser humano é capaz de tanta proeza com a música.. eu fico imaginando os anjos no céu cantando pra Deus deve ser de arrepiar!
I'm coming back to this cover after being binge eating a LOT of Voiceplay videos. They are AMAZING.
I've been listening to this on repeat for hours, every day, for the last two weeks 🔥 This is pure epic perfection 💖
So hours... that's like one listen all the way thru, right? 😉
Fenomenal, WOW,they are,no words can describe.
Fast forward to now... to hear a stripped down, a cappella version from you that still maintains that *feel* of the original? This was another blow directly to my core. This time I'm older (and I'd like to think wiser), but it still staggered me. This arrangement is just mind blowing in how it *feels* simple, but is oh so complex. 🤯
My jaw is still in residence on the floor, and I canNOT thank you enough for this, guys. 🤘🏻💕
That deep voice. WOW. I was not prepared for that
I think this is my favorite VoicePlay lineup. J. None, Cesar, and Eli sound so beautiful together. These 5 together would be perfection.
I agree. They are always good, but that mix is next level.
That was beyond beautiful and powerful VoicePlay. Tears in the eyes gentlemen 🥲
