Not only that, but loves chicken nuggets and his mother’s pancakes all while having the most deeply masculine voice ever. He must be protected at all cost! And he needs to get more movie roles in all honesty. But even if he doesn’t, I enjoyed his performance in Romulus.
Yes, that was the original xenomorph that Ripley blew out of the shuttle's airlock being picked up early on. It had cocooned itself to survive in hibernation in the vacuum of space. Looks like it has its own natural, biological form of cryosleep.
@Karadjanov I still don't think even this tops the pitiful hybrid in _Alien Resurrection_ getting shredded and sucked out into space through a small hole. How much atmospheric pressure was there, like 1000 psi?!
Fun fact. The alien hybruid at the end was practical, it was a tall guy in a alien suit. Guy did an amazing job. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe he was a basketball player.
The face of that nightmarish xenomorph hybrid "baby" thing looks a lot like the "engineer" species in the prequels _Prometheus_ (2012) and _Alien: Covenant_ (2017).
Their lives were saved by one of Andy's dad jokes! 🤣 OK, Rain still had to make that connection and think of that idea under pressure, but she still needed that joke for inspiration.
trivia time! - When Tyler, Bjorn, and Andy tour the reactivated Renaissance station, Wagner's "The Entry of the Gods into Valhalla" from "Das Rheingold" is heard over the introductory audio explaining the station being named after Romulus and Remus. This ties back to Alien: Covenant (2017), when Peter Weyland first activates David and asks him to play Wagner, choosing "The Entry of the Gods into Valhalla." - In the background of several shots, the emergency telephones that function as save stations from Alien: Isolation (2014) can be seen. Much like the game, they're typically a sign that something terrible is about to happen. Tyler also brings along a set of signal flares similar to the ones Amanda can find in Isolation, and even uses them to distract some facehuggers due to the heat of the flare like how Amanda can use them to distract the xenomorphs aboard Sevastopol. - In an interview on RUclips, Fede Alvarez described his idea on the significance of the biomechanical aspect of the Xenomorph coming from it's adaptability as it evolves during its gestation phase, absorbing parts and energy of the environment around where it cocoons itself in order to be able to excel within those surroundings, and in a used, dark industrial future, it would naturally lean towards a mechanical appearance to thrive within it. (also why it shows to have electricity runing thru it's skull bc bjorn tried to kill it before it was fully born, show casing you can indeed give it additional traits) - One notable design element in the film is the pulse rifle, which merges features from the original Alien (1979) flamethrower and the Aliens (1986) pulse rifle. This hybrid design reflects the film's intent to blend elements from both movies, creating something familiar yet new to reflect that this film takes place between those two movies. The auto-aim feature is not a completely new addition to Alien lore: in the Special edition of Aliens, Pvt. Hudson already mentioned an "independently targeting particle beam", and the Smart Guns carried by Vasquez and Drake use infrared-assisted targeting systems that can automatically detect enemies. It can be assumed that Rain's auto-aim pulse rifle is an early precursor to those weapons. - Aileen Wu, Fede Alvarez and film promos confirm that Navarro is Bjorn's adopted sister. According to the cast preview I'm Radio Times, "She was taken in by Bjorn's family on Jackson's Star and now thinks of Bjorn as a brother." This means the film features a trio of sibling pairs, which ties into the underlying myth of Romulus and Remus, and the two halves of the Renaissance station (named for the myth). Álvarez has said sibling relationships are a key theme in the film. - The Offspring was portrayed by the former Romanian college basketball player Robert Bobroczkyi. Speaking with Collider, Fede Álvarez explained that he didn't want to create a CG creature and had to find the right person for the role. After learning about Bobroczkyi, the director sent an email to the 7'7 basketball player asking him if he would like to be in an Alien movie, which Robert was very excited about. The Offspring was mostly done using make-up, with the exception of the creature's tail which was CG. - The chestburster scene was done practically. - the movie poster literally spoils who the first victim is lmao!
I'm still waiting for a reaction to "THE MARTIAN" (2015), and "GRAVITY" (2013). Two great movies, that make you both love and be afraid of the Cosmos. Plus since you loved "INTERSTELLAR" I am sure you're gonna love them!
Technically its not Bilbo per say. The actor died before this. But they got permission from he family to use his likeness again. Hence his face had a weird looking CGI/AI look to it.
Fun fact about Romulus and Remus; Remus was the more trade focused brother and Romulus was the more militant brother. The founding of Rome was on the hill (the palentine hill) that was easy to defend instead a much smaller hill (aventine hill) right next to the Tiber river where it would've been easier to trade with other tribes. This is what the 2 brothers fought to the death over with Romulus, of course, coming out the victor and founding Rome. I have to go with Romulus on this one though because the Etruscans were a difficult enemy and they needed an easily defendable position and were no fans of Romans. Remus would've left them open to being plundered and since there were few trade partners around anyways, it was a non-factor.
Rain (actually Marie Raines Carradine) is a new character in this franchise, but we might see her and Andy (I hope she can get him repaired!) again if there is a sequel, and it's starting to look like there will be.
Cailee Spaeny the actress playing Rain was John Boyega's pint sized sidekick in Pacific Rim. Recently, she played a young journalist in the movie Civil War with Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons. She is really getting a lot of big movies with big names.
The primitive graphics (on the computers used in this story) are meant to fit in with those of the first two movies, and they did a great job of that. This movie might as well have been made between 1979 and 1986.
There was Bishop, and now there's Rook. Someone at Weyland-Yutani likes to play chess, I suppose. Rook is the same older model as Ash, though, so I doubt he has the kids' best interests at heart (not that he has a heart, which is the point).
Firstly- *HAPPY B-DAY!* :: Flings confetti and passes 'round the party hats! :: 😀 Your co-pilots are so darn cute! Everytime I see them checking-in on you, or doing something silly, I say, "That's a good boy!" Which of course instantly alerts MY Doggo (Husky), who then gets jealous 'cause he sees me talking to the monitor, so of course has to plant his head on my lap for attention! What I really love about this movie is the way(s) it honors the original. From sets, color tone, characters on. It's nice to see that returning to 'Sequels,' and I hope they continue on that Path.
That "old man pimp walk" was because Rain was starting to freeze to death. That cryo stuff is pretty potent. She could barely breathe when she finally managed to put on the spacesuit and turn on its life support.
This movie was waaaayyyy better than I thought it would be. I think this would fit in better after Aliens than Alien 3, at least I would watch it that way. I hope there are more of these movies. I like this movie better than the "prequels", or whatever they're supposed to be. BTW, J's mechanic voice was perfect. Reminded me of a few people.
Romulus really surprised me. I was very hesitant and didn't see it in theaters. But Cailee Spaeny's been crushing in her recent roles in Romulus and Civil War. Definitely looking forward to her career. Awesome reaction J. My I suggest reacting to Violent Night for the holidays. Peace out.
Happy Birthday, I seen this in the theater, when that thing came out of her near the end an old guy sitting up front said hell no that does it for me and got up and left. lol
In real life, raising the ambient temperature in the room would make the humans harder to see in IR, but far from invisible. This is because the temperature on our skin will vary quite a lot, and won't match our normal internal body temperature anyway (and the latter can vary, too, between individuals and at different times). But for a movie, I suppose it's believable enough, and the point is that Rain is smart and has good ideas (this, freezing the base of the tail of the facehugger to help remove it, turning off the artificial gravity to get to shoot at and kill the xenomorphs, etc.). She should consider herself lucky because people actually listen to her ideas, while in contrast Ripley's good ideas were usually ignored.
Got to watch this in a theater all alone in my small town of Nebraska City it was an experience I was a little tipsy and was the only one that showed up to the movies all night on a Friday. I enjoyed the film tho and it was a great experience never been to the movies by myself like that.
Yes, this is the first time we've ever seen such a creature as this xenomorph hybrid, although it is reminiscent of other creatures that *you* have yet to see.
Spacecraft only use their thrusters (engines) while accelerating. They can't use them forever or else they'd quickly run out of fuel. Fortunately, space is nearly a perfect vacuum, so once something starts moving at a certain speed, it will maintain the same speed with the engines off. That's why the engines turned off after the desired speed was reached at the end of the movie, not that it ran out of fuel.
I seen it the NOS but I only seen Alien one time and that was when I did the reaction to it. So it could’ve said the whole name I wouldn’t have remembered - J
I understand and appreciate the support from people who watch reactions to movies they don’t like but if you don’t like it so much that you have to tell every other person who comment about how much they enjoy it or like it that the movie is trash is where it becomes confusing to me. - J
You haven't seen Prometheus and Alien Covenant? I would recommend them. While Prometheus is different than the other films, it does not tie-in to this one, and Alien Covenant is of course a direct sequel to Prometheus, but is a lot like the other Alien films.
But the black zenomorph goo was first introduced in prometheus I , that does tie in plus the freak at the end is a an offshoot of the engineer from prometheus.
J, have you played Alien Isolation on your gaming channel? If you haven’t yet and you love this franchise you really should play it. It’s as good as any of the films and it’s better than some of them
Awesome reaction!! I loved this entry into the franchise ❤ I hope you check out the prequels they get hate for no reason but adds so much lore and they explain the black goo and the final creature. Can’t wait for the next one!! Edit: since no one said it yet did you see the Easter egg of Ripley being on the ship!! I love when they sneak stuff in like that 😅
This is a reboot/sequel from the 1st one so Riley character doesnt appear in Alien 3-4. But a sequel is on the works so we gonna have more of her in the future
Note that Rain, the latest in a line of female badasses in this franchise, is about a foot shorter than Ripley. 😆 Seriously, Cailee Spaeny is a petite 5' in height, while Sigourney Weaver towers over her at a full 6'. Rain had better be able to prove that size doesn't matter...especially when one has a pulse rifle.
BTW that wasn't Martin Freeman who plays Bilbo, that was Ian Holm who played Ash in Alien. That being said they screwed up having him play Rook as Rook and Bishop were from the same batch of androids the chess set. Bishop was a defect but knew he would be identified and destroyed if he didn't behave as expected. The books go into it and Bishop and Rook and an unfriendly exchange in the books. But technically they should have had Lance Henriksen (Bishop) play Rook but still a great movie. Bishop's defect is why he was good and not dedicate to the company and thus why he helped Ripley. Walter, Bishop, and Andy are the only 3 so far known good androids in the Alien series.
@peterlenham3180 Yes he did play him in the Lord of the Rings, but for the Hobbit it was Martin Freeman. Which is who came to mind for me because he played him for 3 full movies. But yes good call out on Ian playing him in Lord of the Rings!
@peterlenham3180 Less than 1 minute in the First Hobbit I will give you that but CGI in Battle of Five Armies. Apparently Martin had to do the voice for him in Unexpected Journey. And originally Ian Holm requested he not be listed in the cast. Total Ian had 13 minutes of screen time 15 with extended cuts in all his time as Bilbo. Which again is why Martin is the one that comes to mind for Bilbo more than Ian. Sadly Ian stopped being in all live action after 2006 due to Parkinson's and is why Martin had to do the voice for him in Unexpected Journy. I honestly thought that was even CGI so I am glad for you bringing this up as I found out that he himself was actually in the Unexpected Journey for 1 minute.
@Mr.Constitutionalist427 He was in An unexpected Journey for several minutes. He's not CGI in Battle of the Five Armies, so thats nonsense. Where did you hear that? He was in that for less than a minute, so I think youre getting confused with that film. Lastly, Martin didn't do the voice, it was 100% Ian. Again, where did you hear this drivel?
Actually, Rain might be tiny, but she looks pretty stout in the upper body. She's not ripped at all, but this actress has relatively large biceps for a little woman. She looks like she could have done all of these things--at least it's convincing enough.
It was alright this movie, and honestly, I just watched it for myself the first time today, but now I am checking to other's reactions to it. but honestly, I was freaked out and way more scared in Alien Convent then this one. And others have freaked me out way more than this movie did. But it was still good worth the wait. The jump scare is alright, it's creepy and gory which is still good and needed. But I don't know, I kind of wish I understood where we are in the timeline, because I know it takes place after Ripley's time with the alien they brought in, in the beginning of the film, but then the face huggers being in those little pods or whatever, it looked like what David the robot did in Alien convent to keep them on the ship. so, I have no clue. But I guess this takes place before Aliens did. But it was creepy enough. But that elevator scene with it catching her with its tail was rather something else. Andy being half good and half bad was new to the plot, but I do like it. Not bad of a reaction.
Not only are they just kids they are three different families. Rain and Andy. Tyler and his sister Kay. Bjorn and his adopted sister Navarro. Bjorn is also cousin to Tyler and Kay. So it's not just a disjointed bunch of teenagers in space.

infestation
That alien at the end is a real person! His name is Robert Bobroczky. He is a basketball player and stands at 7'7!
Not only that, but loves chicken nuggets and his mother’s pancakes all while having the most deeply masculine voice ever. He must be protected at all cost! And he needs to get more movie roles in all honesty.
But even if he doesn’t, I enjoyed his performance in Romulus.
@@rodgill9376 Agree he would play a great slenderman or a wendigo for a movie
We know him from the Guinness world record book, he was always in there over the years.
Partly him
The android Bishop in Aliens was a trustworthy one, but you're right about Ash in Alien. It all depends on their programing and directive.
WHEN YOU SAID SHE HAD THAT OLD MAN PIMP WALK BUT DIDN'T KNOW IT! 😂😂😂

You should check out ‘Don’t Breathe,’ another great Fede-directed movie starring Jane Levy who also stars in Evil Dead (2013)!
For sure
110% agreed!
I honestly could have watched a whole movie just about Rain and Andy.
Yes, that was the original xenomorph that Ripley blew out of the shuttle's airlock being picked up early on. It had cocooned itself to survive in hibernation in the vacuum of space. Looks like it has its own natural, biological form of cryosleep.
Just when you think that the alien films could not get stupider :D
@Karadjanov I still don't think even this tops the pitiful hybrid in _Alien Resurrection_ getting shredded and sucked out into space through a small hole. How much atmospheric pressure was there, like 1000 psi?!

But technically they should have had Lance Henriksen (Bishop) play Rook but still a great movie. Bishop's defect is why he was good and not dedicate to the company and thus why he helped Ripley. Walter, Bishop, and Andy are the only 3 so far known good androids in the Alien series.
He means Ian as Bilbo. Ian Holm also played the character in The Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit films.
@peterlenham3180 Yes he did play him in the Lord of the Rings, but for the Hobbit it was Martin Freeman. Which is who came to mind for me because he played him for 3 full movies. But yes good call out on Ian playing him in Lord of the Rings!
@Mr.Constitutionalist427 He also played Bilbo in the first and last Hobbit films. That's why I mentioned them too.
I need to complain to RUclips, this wasn't the first video in my feed and I'm not okay with that xD
Oh hell happy birthday then
"Is that the first one of these?" Well, this version? Yes. Are there other versions? You'll have to watch the other movies and find out. ;)
Not only are they just kids they are three different families. Rain and Andy. Tyler and his sister Kay. Bjorn and his adopted sister Navarro. Bjorn is also cousin to Tyler and Kay. So it's not just a disjointed bunch of teenagers in space.
Should watch Lion, true story. Its brilliant.
That was a great movie.
You should play alien isolation, you'd love it if you like this movie
Alien series will be out in a month or two, made by the Fargo and Legion series
