The guys over at Spectrum have let me know - the cargo issue is limited to the Valkyrie Liberator (the flashy orange one I have in this video) and is a bug. The 'main' Valkyrie is able to store cargo - around 30 SCU.
I recently upgraded from the Redeemer to this ship. The main reason for the upgrade was precisely the cargo bay which can easily carry a Rover. A land vehicle wiht interiors (Rover, Ballista, Spartan) is a must in any ship I pilot and sadly the Redeemer does not allow transportation. The only thing this ship is missing is a med bay and a scanning station. Such heavy troop transport definitely needs a medbay and a scanning station would be a huge plus. It's a stepping stone towards my final ship anyways: the Nautilus.
Absolutely amazing job, your style and format is what I was looking for in a ship review. I have been watching many reviews for many years for star citizen ships. I enjoy yours and Morphologis's architect reviews the most. I encourage you to do as many as you can and keep at it. You will definitely see your view count rising soon.
Hey Farrister, I know this video is over a year old, but it's still good. The Valkyrie is a really nice ship, and what's great about it is it's capability for carrying both troops and vehicles. I've been able to get 4 Cyclones inside, but it's better with only two. It will also hold an Ursa Rover. I'm not sure if they've updated it so it will carry cargo, but that wasn't it's designed mission. Bringing troops into a combat area and staying with them with gun support is it's mission. I have a Valk, and I love it. I know it's a little pricey, but I think it's worth it. Initially I wanted a Redeemer, but when the Valk came out, I changed my mind. Stay save and I'll see you in the verse.
For me it's a must have ship. Role and aesthetic fits my PMC themed org perfectly. Looking forward to how damage states/ phys inv/ armor effects this beast and its game play :)
If it's your first ship and you want versatility, I agree it's not worth it. You get similar use from a Cutlass Black at a much cheaper cost. But I already have a Cutlass Black... and I need a ship that can carry an Ursa for bunker Missions. The Constellation is arguably better, but my friends already have Constellations... so I want something different. This ship's "space marine vibe" makes me giddy. It's perfect. I want. Very good review as always. Thank you!
Hey I get crews together regularly to knock out bunker missions now. Don’t need to destroy the turrets either as the ursa gets us where we need to be. No longer imaginary.
@MOTHexe I don't get the impression they intent for it to be a viable choice. I think its just a SQ42 asset they had and figured they could sell to make money.
I absolutely love my Valkyrie, never going to swap it. But it's such ashame how they've butchered ballistics weapons with patch 3.14. This ship does not feel as cool without all the Gatlings firing away
This or connie taurus (or star runner). I DUNNO!!!! BTW Farrister sir, I found that I consistently seek out your videos when considering a new ship. Have a like and a subscribe 👍
@@Farrister opted for the Taurus after realizing I could afford it. Holds 2 Ursas, great running costs and 4 size 4 gimbals too! Very happy and no regrets.
The Valkyrie is a nice ship but there needs to be another version. The second version should only carry a squad of men be large enough to fit two URSa and finally remove the bathroom . The bathroom area needs to be changed to a gun rack storage area with 4 common shared storage and gun rack that can hold 12 weapons and one Rail gun.
No leave the ships single purpose. Too many all in one ships will make to much like ED. I think for the job it does it is worth it. Not everything is about money.
Yea because in the real world no one would be using this to haul cargo! What an ignorant idea saying you cant haul cargo in this thing! For that reason alone I will pass!
Idk why space sims are always bad when it’s comes to in game pricing. You can have a nice plane or helicopter for a few millions but a space ship? This ship 4.5million? What! A dam tank costs more today. Why should it be different in the future? Are people living the socialistic dream in the future? 🤣😂🤷♀️
@@judsonbuckner8590 fuckin nailed it. Benefits of living in a kardashev 2-3 civilization. People in government operated jurisdictions probably have amazing social safety nets too. Oh the dream of socialism. Just gotta wait 1000 years

Hope you enjoy, although new Redeemer looks very powerful!
Really well made video, this review was really in depth and the format was enjoyable.
Thank you :)

good voice and does a real good job pointing the facts out.I've also seen many and thesesare good
One of the better reviews I've seen. Really good quality and informative. Keep making vids.
Thank you :)

Thanks, and yes it got updated to carry cargo :)
First part after watching the "20" seats for marines, i get the Aliens vibes when you climb up to second floor.
Totally!
@@Farrister i got serious "Agents of Shield" vibes, out of all the ships in SC it looks, well no, it feels closest to "The Bus"
For me it's a must have ship. Role and aesthetic fits my PMC themed org perfectly. Looking forward to how damage states/ phys inv/ armor effects this beast and its game play :)
Definitely, and I love how versatile it is! That big bay in the back is great.
Now the Valkyrie can hold two gray cat ROC for team ground mining.
The ROC has improved so many ships!
This video encouraged me to go farm enough money to get one of these in my shipyard
Let me know what you think when you get it! Glad the video was useful

Thanks, this is an old one too!
Just what we needed, a dropship with no other purpose or place but to transport imaginary soldiers to an imaginary battleground.
Hey I get crews together regularly to knock out bunker missions now. Don’t need to destroy the turrets either as the ursa gets us where we need to be. No longer imaginary.
I think you mean future battles and future soldiers
Could be used for cargo
A most excellent video and thank you, please keep up the good work from your newest subscriber!
Thank you :)
That's a vehicle stop/barricade shield for troops i think.
A medical variant of the Valkyrie would be amazing.
Totally!
Would function great as a mobile field hospital
I would like to see the personnel capacity halved, having the jump seats on one side, and a medbay on the other, for treating battlefield wounds.
@MOTHexe I don't get the impression they intent for it to be a viable choice. I think its just a SQ42 asset they had and figured they could sell to make money.
Hi farrister! Not sure if you read comments four years later, but does this ship have an armory? I didn’t see one in the tour. Thanks!
You know, I'm not sure, now I wanna go back and check :D
it would be intersting if there are other variants of the valkyrie like a explorer variante
This things gonna be forgotten when the redeemer comes out, gunship wise
Dropship wise, i have to say this will always be the best drop ship
I hope so!
I absolutely love my Valkyrie, never going to swap it. But it's such ashame how they've butchered ballistics weapons with patch 3.14.

I'd like to see better support for ballistics in general :(
I can see this as my starter ship for sure. 😅As soon as I get APC.
Big starter ship!

o7 thank you! I'm a big fan of the Taurus - just value for what you get is really nice

I would buy this in a second if it could run cargo...Are they planning to ever change it?
I think it can run cargo now! The Liberator edition I had was a little bugged
Looks like the Cutlass's big sister!
Holuo this things only got s2 shields? Why?
great channel
G12's and ROC's would give light cargo
I suppose so!
What are your thoughts not that it can carry cargo now?
I like that it can carry cargo - I think the challenge will be how practical it is to run cargo solo versus with a crew
Hello from 3.19 and yes! I still love my Connie
Hello from 3.20 ;)
Review the retaliator pleaseeeee
Coming soon!!
I could see an org using something like this to take down a bounty on a large pirate crew base.
For sure!
I'm going to say it's also a 'Transport'. But what's wrong with having a ship just because it's fun? :)
150% corsair, or 300% cutlas price we get ship which is worse in all aspects =\ less fire power, shields, less cargo. That sad(
Not to mention, this is a very old video!
wing guns should be slaved to pilot when not occupied imo
Are the flight mechanics still this bad? looks like there is no inertia and its more submarine-like than aircraft
You know, I'm not sure on the Valkyrie, been a while since I have flown it!
how much pain i had with shooting this while doing a bounty
haha, shooting at it?
@@Farrister yes my litle default aurora was having painfull days. Now i have a prowler xD
This is kinda like a ferrari. You dont need it, but by george are you gonna find a reason to drive it.
Fully armed it's an absolute beast too!
greetings 🛀

Haha, maybe improvements in technology have changed the value of different types of work xD
Well, price is dictated my material cost and labor required. Since materials aren't as rare in space, that part of the cost is significantly reduced.
