I would love to see the ability to rip out the jumpseats for some modularity. e.g. Dropship Module: 10 Jumpseats; Infirmary: 1 T2/T3 Med bay and medical station; Science Module: Cabinets and Experiment Containers, Rec Room: a big table with a galley; and so on. Or even the lower turret room, remove the turret for a tractor beam station or just another module. Because the size is just perfect and could be a small Serenity. (Rec Room on the left, medical station on the right)
This would be really freaking cool and I love this idea! While they haven’t explored modularity with the Valk, it would seem to fit the ships design and be fairly easy to implement (all things considered)! I love the idea of a medical variant in particular, especially with its tandem dropship/gunship capability!
I have this ship in my hanger right now , i just love the design, but i would love to have a pathfinder/cargo variant, ( like a mini Carrack) change half the jump seats for a medical bed and facilities , utilize the cargo space to hold at least 60 cargo, remove half of the bunk beds and put in a kitchenette , remove the remote turrets put in long range scanners / computers, and missile racks on the wing tips for data scanning , bigger quantum fuel tanks . i mean the hull design is perfect and would make history as a daily driver especially with Pyro coming.
For the price they need to A) give modularity to the dropseat areas so we can use them for medical bay, armory, engineering or something else. B) Slave the side repeaters to the pilot when not being operated by remote turrets. C) increase the shields, it's a dropships with up to 25 souls in it...two size 2's ain't gonna cut it, and for a 375usd ship I'd expect a S3.
Those are excellent points and I agree with them! If they don’t add in a size 3, I’d expect some serious hull armor or a lot of utility after quantum boosts are introduced. Otherwise this will remain an expensive underperforming offering!
The Valk is a ship I really like more than I should. Hopefully as the game progresses, and balances to both it and combat happen, it'll reach the point where it truly shines.
The Valk is such a cool ship, I wish it had more performance in game as well! Although I suspect it’s a facet of the game not having the supporting features like proper armor in place to really allow this ship to shine! But I think once they’re introduced it’ll breathe new life into the Valk and make it a really competitive dropship and great all rounder!
I have a Valk. I've run cargo with it, used it to transport a ptv to bunkers, run medical beacons and used it for ROC mining. I love my Valk, even though it has zero things over the competition for a solo player.
It’s a great platform that offers a ton of utility from its cargo bay! I’m hoping with future gameplay balance and reworks, that it’ll become a more compelling choice for players!
The Valk is Anvil’s answer to the Cutlass Black. It would be a much better buy at about half the price. It’s just way too expensive for what it does though, just like all the drop ships.
I absolutely agree, and think it offers a really compelling alternative to the Cutlass at $150. But for its current $350-$375 price tag, much less so. I think it’ll really need some strong gameplay buffs before people turn towards this ship as a viable alternative, although I suspect CIG has some ideas in the works!

I use my Valkyrie for contraband, salvage and box missions. It’s like a Cutty Black’s big brother. I like that it’s more slim profile and cool looks. Wish it had paint!!
My pledge shit is currently a Caterpillar but upgrading to the Valkyrie would be a no brainier for me if she had around 120 scu. She'd be my daily worker.
Yea the Valkyrie has so much potential, it just falls short in the current game. Although I think increasing the cargo capacity and especially after armor it'll be so much better!
Too bad the valk is kinda squish. Like, I wanna drop off 20 marines, but I'd rather split them into 2 redeemers with 2x s3 shields, thick armor, and massive fuck-off guns on a similar landing profile, than put them in a valk with mostly s1-s2 turrets, and s2 shields. Better 20 marines alive, than 20 marines and a vehicle dead before arrival, ya know? And if we're talking mass transport into a safe-ish zone, plenty of bigger/better options for that.
Absolutely agreed, if it was me I’d feel so much safer in a ship with larger shields! That’s why I’m hoping with future gameplay changes like the inclusion of hull armor and master modes, the Valk will be a viable alternative!
Can do alright with 30 scu but that is an awfully large cargo bay. Id tuck cargo grids after removing the jump seats, enable the whole bay to secure cargo as well, orfit a vehicle and cargo.
@@ViciDeum or even double it by allowing stacking lol. Gotta be a game balance thing. Take away the seats and maybe the bottom turrets. The thing still has no missiles.
When I think about how much of a difference 20 heavily armored marines can make, the high cost of the Valkyrie and other dropships doesn't seem so unreasonable. I'd recommend the Valk to anyone who frequently plays with a group and wants to takeover an FPS gameplay location, because any high-cost ship is hard to recommend if it'll get little use by its owner, unless the ship is pretty. Pretty ships get a pass for being inefficient, like how pretty high-maintenance partners get a pass, or like the Origin 400i.
Pretty ships definitely get a cost pass haha! But in the Valks case, I’m most concerned with its ability to get those marines into the conflict safely. I do suspect CIG has some balancing in the works with armor values and master modes that’ll really make this ship shine once implemented! When that happens, it’ll really breathe new life into this ship, which can leverage a lot out of the rest of its multi-roll platform atop it all!
Rather a nice looking ship. And I know it is suitable for use as a hauler for ROC mining. But I can't find anything about cargo capacity beyond the fact that you can load a ROC with relative ease.
It’s great for carrying a ROC and has an official cargo capacity of 30 SCU, but it’s only a single layer that stacks. The actual cargo area is much larger (all the vertical room above that single layer) so I’m not sure why it’s this low or if they intend to expand this in the future 🤔
The Valkyrie is a nice ship but there needs to be another version. The second version should only carry a squad of men be large enough to fit two URSa and finally remove the bathroom . The bathroom area needs to be changed to a gun rack storage area with 4 common shared storage and gun rack that can hold 12 weapons and one Rail gun.
I heard the Valk has upgraded sensors. I was thinking of using 1 as a scan vehicle/carrier to drop ground mining vehicle(s). Cutty Black or Freelancer work fine as well ..Valk will be adding a little Style. XD (Not that i do much ground vehicle mining - i prefer the Prospector/Mole style ..but the Valk might be fun enough to make me head out and get some more gem mining mileage)
It’s definitely got strong advantages over the Cutty or Freelancer, albeit at almost double their combined cost! For me, it’s hard not to go for a ship like the Connies or the Corsair, unless you really want that drop ship capability. Although even then I still feel like the Hercules lineup offers a lot towards that role, with even better shields and great handling. But I think armor and master modes are going to be the Valks strongest supporters!
@@ViciDeum Thx 4 the reply. I was hoping they were rentable to try out..but double checked. Im sitting on a litte extra $ and want to burn some up ahead of the wipe. Love the ship idea but find it a little sluggish at actual getting onto the ground and too heavy to leave atmosphere quickly. Currently even the connie feels nimbler than the Valk.

@@ViciDeum This week I'm eye balling upgrading my Caterpillar to the Valkyrie for 20 bucks war bond and just not applying it yet. Does anyone know if you can fit a Dragon fly or Nox in the jumpseat bays on the Valkyrie? That'd help a little.

I really like the look of the Valkyrie, but I think it is a touch too sluggish in maneuverability for a drop ship. Even at SCM, it does not seem to change direction easily. Yes the Valk can be used as a cargo ship! Currently the cargo capacity is just a single row in the rear bay, so it’s only 30 SCU, but with 3.18 you’ll be able to store far more than that listed amount internally, so it’ll be able to practically hold much more!
