Hey RUclips!!! In today's video we will take a look at the Oase Filtosmart Thermo 200 Unboxing & Setup. I will be installing this on my ADA 45p tank for my mosquito rasbora, black tiger darios and bloody Mary shrimp. If you love tropical fish, aquariums, aquascaping, fish tanks and planted tanks then this is the video for you. They are great filters. I havnt seen that video. Ill have to check it out 👍
Good video but I would suggest you always wash new ceramic biological media before first use - just look at the cloud of dust @4:50 as it's being poured directly into the filter. Imagine how much more dust will have ended up in the tank. You could also soak any new flexible hose in a bucket of water for a couple of days before use. New soft piping can have quite a strong smell which would be absorbed into the tank water.

Good looking filter that! Like the idea of heater being external too. Is there much heat loss between filter and tank?
most of the heat loss happens in the aquarium between glass and surroundings. no need to worry about that
I love the Oase filters they are amazing. I have a 350 on the angelfish tank and the heater is set at 28.5 and the thermometer reads that so I don't think any, unless it accounts for that

Have you ever tried the cacade external filter..it wasn’t bad (the motor leaks) considering I should get the oase instead of the fluva.. much needed help thanks
I havnt to be honest. I would go with oase always now. I used to be a fluval guy but the oase filters are such good value for money and so simple to setup and maintain. I'm glad you found the video useful 😁

It is good for 45x27x30 tank? Will too much water flow ?I’m still considering.
I have filtosmart 60 on my 54liter planted tank and i have algae problem right now. Did that filter make any difference on algae on your tank?

Great work! I have a nano that I'm thinking of getting an external filer for... mainly because the internal one takes up room and makes too much noise... Would you recommend one of these? I can DM you a video/pictures of the tank on IG if that'd help? But loving the content!

Loudest filter i owned in 30 years. Why someone wanne use this at home. Other products so much better.
Thats a nightmare! I don't have that problem, it's so silent. I can see why you would look for other brands but I havnt had an issue with any of the Oase filters and I have most of them. I used to be a fluval guy but they would always leak or fall after a couple of years. What filters to you go for?
Highly Highly DO NOT recommend placing the sponge int he same space as the heater
THIS IS THE WORST FILTER ON THE MARKET FOR SETTING UP. Every video for it does not go over the complexities. Locking on the intake/outtake is a tremendous pain in the butt and then priming the thing is an awful challenge. I've owned mine for about two months. I have yet to get it working. I bought it because I'm a big fan of the 350, this ain't that whatseoever.
One of the worst filters I ever had. Crapy hoses, cluncky clasps, weak seals. Don’t trust RUclipsrs with affiliate links.
I fail to see any type of education in the form of filter placment. you have added fine wool then biological then coarse filter to the left chamber, how does fine come before coarse? then you have coarse before your biological media on the right. should be coarse medium then fine then biological.
