Hi mate. Great vid. What size spin lily pipe did you get? Planning on same set up, just a week half into a dry moss start on lava Rock so slowly getting all bits back together.
I’m looking at getting this filter for a 45l aquarium. As the spin Pipe is more left & right flow. It will be going into the intake much quicker than going around the whole tank? Do you feel you get good enough circulation with the spin pipe. I was looking at the spin bit not sure if a lily pipe will be a better option. Better circulation & Flow. Would be good to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
I personally used the spin pipe due to me wanting to reduce the flow because of my fish choice. If you want the best circulation I recommend using the standard lily pipe for a planted tank, as this pipe distributes the flow better around the aquarium!
Thank you for the video. Where would you put Purigen and SATZ Clear Water pads into this filter please? I bought it, but can nor figure out how to add these 🙏🏻
I noticed that similar filters have shut-off valves near the bottom, but you didn't mention them in your video - does the filter come with similar things or do you have to somehow drain the tubes when the time comes to clean the filter?
This filter does not have the stop valves. You could buy some yourself and add them as an extra piece to your tubing. There is alittle section where the tubes are held where you and twist the base and it remove both sets of tubing from the filter for cleaning.
Hey man really nice scape. Was hoping to do something similar in my 9.1gal (~34l) long with crypts as the focal point. Would love a plant list if that isn't asking too much. And are those chili raspboras?
Thank you! Here is the plant list: Helanthium tenellum 'Green', Cryptocoryne Balansae, Cryptocoryne Petchii, Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green, Cryptocoryne Wendtii Tropica, Bucephalandra Theia, Anubias Nana Petite and Microsorum pteropus 'Trident. And yes they are Chili Rasboras!
Hello sorry for the late reply, I don’t believe you can adjust the flow when using lily pipes. To reduce the flow with lily pipes I added some filter floss into the filter.
Hello! I plan on getting this for a 30cm cube tank. I would prefer the tank have good flow so I am not sure if I should get a spin pipe or lily pipe. What are your thoughts? Thank you!
@@KrishsAquariums ok, so it's measuring the temperature of the water going into the tank not the water in the tank itself, so I suppose it would just take some trial and error to determine what the temperature setting needs to be to hold your desired tank temperature. Cool, thanks. I'm used to the temperature being measured in the tank but this would work too. Whats the wattage of the heater?
I personally remove one of the sponges and replaced it with filter floss, I am not a fan of using carbon filtration in a planted tank personally, but you can certainly do that if you want to.
Hey, just wanted to ask about this filter 👍🏻 I have a dennerle scaper 70 litre tank, which I do have to keep lid on due to Betta and shrimp, would you recommend the 60 or 100 filter as a strong current with Betta are a big no no and don't want to stress him out. Thanks
Hey sorry for the late reply! I would recommend the 100 if it is a planted tank. You can use a spin lily pipe to reduce the flow for your Betta. But if it is a non planted tank a 60 will be enough!
@@KrishsAquariums it's ok, yeah, I've already ordered the 100, and a lily pipe 😂 just hoping a Betta won't be swirling around everywhere, but will be doing it's maintenance before a Betta will be put in, plus I will shield the flow with some plants 👍🏻 thanks
@@KrishsAquariums filtosmart 100. With headup 100. I changed my filtermedia. Maby that wil do the trick because its hard for the water to come in the heater compound

Hello there! I think you can adjust at the point near where the pipes are. If you want to reduce the flow add some filter floss to the filter and/or use a spin lily pipe!
There isn’t an issue with that, I wanted minimal surface as I don’t want a lot flow because of the fish and the oxygen levels seem to be good all of the fish are happy!
My 100 does make a constant humming sound. Less noisy than my 200 but I still think about swapping it for something more quiet. Love to hear from your experience because I've never found a quiet filter yet.
I have had the 100 up and running for 5 months now and it is absolutely silent. I sleep with my head right next to the pump without any problems. I always make sure to check the primer tube on the inside, so that i goes upwards and takes all air out. You can also slightly tilt it to get the last bubbles out:)

It certainly is!
Could you please post a video showing how noisy the filter is?

Hi Kris im wondering does the heater comes with its own power cord or it somehow incorporate with the main filter power cord? Thank you!
It has its own separate power cord!
What size hose is it. 12/16 or 16/22 I want to know before I add my ADA pipes
12/16!
Hi my friend nice video i have a question how can you adjust the out flow water power with lily pipe?
Hello sorry for the late reply, I don’t believe you can adjust the flow when using lily pipes. To reduce the flow with lily pipes I added some filter floss into the filter.
Is this filter silent? Thanks.
Pretty much I never really eat it!
Hello! I plan on getting this for a 30cm cube tank. I would prefer the tank have good flow so I am not sure if I should get a spin pipe or lily pipe. What are your thoughts? Thank you!
A normal lily would be better as it provides more flow in my opinion!
How is the temperature controlled? Is the heater juat always on? Would it work for a 5 gallon then?
The heater has a temperature sensor that monitors the water temperature and turns on and off depending on the temperature in the filter!

I had a question bought the same filter but i was curious on what the small tubing inside the filter is for right next to the motor
small tube is to release trapped air in the filter, does it automatic when filter is running.
I was wondering the same!
Thank you so much!
Does the heatup 50w fit the filtosmart 100 with the adaptor?
I believe so but I am not 100% sure!

What external filter would be the best for a 20 litre tank..should I get the oase 60 or 100 or eheim 150?
For a 20 litre tank, I recommend a filter that has 200 LPH. I would go with the Oase 60 amzn.to/3rISYR4.

Yes, it will provide plenty of flow!
