I recently started working for an ice machine company in OR. I don't have much experience with this stuff, but I am learning as much as possible, and your videos are very helpful. My goal is to become a full fledged tech at some point, so I am very grateful for all of the info you put out. Thank you.
Quick question. When its in current making ice mode and water level gets below sensor, is the board supposed to then get signal to supply more water to evap and curtain if ice sheet still not to right thickness and ready for harvest? Working on one now and noticed that water pan gets so low and the thickness switch isn't ready to harvest yet, but there is no more signal for more water to be brought into pan for wayer pump to keep pouring over evap as needed.
During the first 7 minutes of freeze the water inlet valve should energize if the water probe looses contact with water. Usually a situation like yours means that you’re loosing water somewhere. Do you have water dripping into the bin/dispenser during freeze? Possibly loosing water through the dump valve? Maybe the water level probe isn’t in the correct position? Manitowoc has a good tech support team. Give the a call. 800-247-4520
Well just cleaned another and this one the probe was loose when I put it back in. I just took it out and tested the continuity and it’s not getting any at all from the plugs to the pins. The little silicone piece is also loose and comes up off the part it wraps around at the bottom. It seems like maybe the whole thing came undone or something.
@@IceMachine411 Thanks im just about to order it, but it looks like the style of plugs it has now is different from the new ones. So it looks like I have to get the whole wiring kit, or buy a knock off version of the old one that has terrible reviews on it. Thankfully it doesn’t look very hard to run the wire to the control board with the new wiring kit. I appreciate you replying to my comments, it’s awesome when a creator does that. The part number on the old probe is 7052 g but I called a dealer and they said the new one is 16053
@@IceMachine411 Yeah I think I figured out the issue! The probe was definitely bad I tested it a few times to be sure. When I saw you replace it with a similar style one I wasn’t sure if the one I ordered was the right one. Even with the new probe t still wasn’t getting enough water and when I tested the hose from the filter it didn’t have much water. Idk if you can bypass the filter by removing it, but even with it off it didn’t get much water so it left me to think it’s the regulator thing that went out. It fell off the wall when I unplugged the machine and I forgot it happened and didn’t think it broke that easily, it’s not cracked or anything. We’re gonna order both a filter and regulator and hopefully see if that fixes the problem. You telling me on a different comment that the holder wasn’t the problem really helped me move past that and look elsewhere for the problem. You’re a great creator and I truly appreciate you and your videos. Thank you sir
Our companies brand new, maybe a month old Manitowok ice machine has been having the issue of water trough overflowing constantly, however water probes have been switched out and hasn’t made a difference, it’s sort of intermittent, we had a second machine brand new sitting on the shelf so we hooked that one up and it is having the same issue… could it be a water issue? Maybe not enough minerals in the water to consistently cause the probe to ground out like it’s supposed to?
Sounds like you’re on the right track. The water needs a minimum TDS for the probes to properly sense the water. There’s a jumper on the board that is used to increase the sensitivity of the probes. If you haven’t already I’d recommend calling Manitowoc tech support. They’ll help you out with your problem.
I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking but the sequence of operations are usually posted on the inside of the front panel. Refer to that and it should tell you when there should be water flowing over your evap.
Ok I'm having this problem ... I pulled the part here in video and test mine I got tone on all probes but still have this issue with thick ice drops . Any advice would be helpful
Your probe is probably good. May just need to be adjusted. That is unless the ice doesn’t fall during harvest. Then you’d have a different problem. Maybe a curtain switch issue?
Ugh I cleaned ours and now the water isn’t getting high enough to touch the probe. I hate these dang machines It dropped ice literally after I sent that lol
@@IceMachine411 Lol same here. It’s my first time cleaning one so I was really hoping I didn’t mess it up somehow, because I gotta do 3 more here soon. How often should I run the self cleaning cycle thing? I heard someone say once a month for that, and every like ~6 months for the components like water probe, trough, and pump.
Good video ! Subbed. Liked. I just got a video call from a customer - ice o matic ice0600HA4 water curtain drops into the bin when it harvests. Lol 😂 never seen that one before I think. Gotta go check it out.
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. You’re pretty awesome. Sometimes the ice will double slab and the large block of ice knocks the damper off. It could be anything though. lol. Good luck.
@@IceMachine411 Thanks For the Compliment. I Appreciate it. You Look like You know your stuff too. Happy New Year, I Hope it’s a Good one. Thanks for the info / tip too. We shall see. Going to be interesting. 🤔
Im about to binge watch your videos, thanks for sharing. Interested in learning more about this service
I do all ice, all day. I’m hoping to make many many more.
Always looking forward to your videos. I learn a lot. This water trey episode is one of the best
They’re getting better right?

Awesome bro! I was in your shoes about 4 years ago. Keep learning and watching videos. You’ll be a full fledged technician sooner than you know.
I’ve been switching out water fill valves, now I feel dumb. Thanks Dawg!
lol
Nice video and thank you for show us how to check stuff.
You’re welcome!

Replace the water level sensor. You got it right!

Watch the video about the ice thickness probe. Might be the ice thickness probe that is giving you trouble.
