- Regardless your view on this hush hush topic, we're all on the same coin. Daisy Ridley went to say this about The Last Jedi, and here are my thoughts about it, Luke Skywalker Kylo, Rey, Palpatine, Vader, Anakin and everyone else involved in the story.

Do you think George Lucas made a mistake by selling off the rights to Star Wars?
Growing up with the prequels taught me a lot. Which is why I'm aiming to become a four armed cyborg, and have Ewan McGregor say "Hello there." to me.

I couldn't agree more. "If you're going to fundamentally change a character, it needs to be done on-screen, not off screen." -Sam Witwer (AKA Starkiller, Darth Maul)
Should have kept that in mind when they changed luke
That makes perfect sense. Even though I can believe Luke changed a lot in 30 years, while watching The Last Jedi his change feels unearned.

The worst thing is that they didn’t even LEAVE us with any characters to be invested in, besides maybe Kylo, but even his character confuses me sometimes.
Kylo is alright. But everytime I look at him, I can't help but see a watered down version of Darth Caedus, and then I shake my head, knowing how good it could've been.
They elimination of main characters had to happen to symbolize the transition from episode 6 I understand greatly why people are upset for Han and leia rip to the actress behind leia. We have to grip to what was left to us just as we did from menace to episode 6 we had no clue who Vader was till anakin was molded into him by palpatine. What we can say about the elimination of the main characters from the continued trilogy Is that if it has no reason it shouldn’t of happened. Of course life events actress passing away is awful to say the least. Everyone takes Star Wars differently. The franchise has switched ownership so Lucas isn’t able to give us his original take on these episodes upcoming. But what we can tell is Disney pays no disrespect to the fans and wishes to only continue a legacy that should live on. However if we have that as our home base we always should appreciate whether Lucas films are examples for upcoming films. I don’t believe Disney will completely tarnish the Star Wars name but it has made many if not a majority of hardcore fans scratch their heads in wonder. How did it get to this.
It’s like if you watch episode 2 without having watched episode 1 confusion will naturally arise
Kylo is a terrible character. A very cartoonish villain with serious emotional and psychological issues. I hope he dies a villain in The Rise of Skywalker.
I wish he looked more frightening like the rest of the sith

Got to this video waaaay late and was just about to comment something similar. Glad I checked the comment section first.
It´s really sad, that you have to emphasize a lot that you are not a hater. It shows to me that we can´t even casually talk about A MOVIE.
Sapujapu too many people jump to conclusions and get offended unfortunately
The whole "hater" word is overused. If someone doesn't like something, cool, that's your opinion & everyone is entitled to one. What's sad these days if your views or opinions don't align with another group then you run the risk of being crucified.
it’s just as bad for folks that say they liked the film. ://
Just because i love the sequel trilogy is one of the reasons why i have no friends anymore. It's unfortunate that i can't even get a chance to explain why i like the sequel trilogy. 😳
Same with having to emphasize that for example I am not shill. Just because I enjoy things like Star Wars Rebels and Kylo Ren, doesn't mean I love everything Disney puts out.
Especially since people then often assume I just haven't seen the greatness of the other Star Wars content. I have. I grew up watching the Prequels and Originals in the mid 2000's and some of the first gaming experiences in my life were connected to the early Star Wars games.
I can very much agree that it really is so god damn annoying when people jump to conclusions on your whole person after hearing like 2 of your opinions.

I love Star Wars, but I hated The Last Jedi. Mainly because of how they handled Luke.
I hate the ST because they essentially made Han, Luke and Leia the reason the galaxy went to hell again. Everything they fought for in 4,5,6 is gone as we have a new Empire (The First Order), a new Death Star (Starkiller Base), a new villain (Snoke) and is all because of Han/Leia being crummy parents and Luke being a crummy teacher. We did not wait 30 years to see our heroes become failures. They could have had a new war, a new villain, and a new story but it could have been after Han, Leia and Luke retired. The theme of the new Trilogy could have been that you can't rely on old heroes as sometimes you have to pass the torch. Han, Luke and Leia could have came out of retirement in Episode 7 and helped our new heroes transition into the leaders to win the war in Episode 8 and 9.
I think that The Last Jedi was good as a stand-alone movie but not as a Star Wars film.

Some people use the word "hater" way too much and for no reason at all. It's just stupid. I wouldn't even call someone a "hater" if someone actively tried to silence me because I had a positive opinion about something they didn't, I would just call them an asshole.

Only bad thing was Jar Jar not being part of the sith, George clearly planned Jar Jar not to just be some dumb ass. It’s been proven by the fandom that he would’ve been a Sith Lord or something of the like. Backlash of Jar Jar made George scrap the amazing concept sadly.

True fans? you dont have to watch the old trilogy to know these new movies are awful lol
I didnt like the prequels as much as the originals, but I still liked them a bit. What I personally disliked about the prequels was how Anakin's love story was handled, and also how the tried putting an explanation into the force. In the originals, the force always felt like a being of it's own. A faith so to speak, a universal energy that just chose to express itself in certain individuals. It was more a spiritual power than anything else. In the prequels, it was tried to be tied down to a biological reason as to how it worked, and it took a bit of its mystery away.

@Nick with no last name Of course. I should know because you have absolute knowledge and know everything about what makes Star Wars great... Or perhaps you don't.

If I did, I would consider the Prequels to be great, possibly over the Sequels but as a critique, I have to make the difference between tastes and facts.
And I am not just basing this of my arguments but also other people's arguments that know more about Star Wars and movies than I do and, believe it or not, they actually defend these movies.

@@mikea9418 I will do what I must becomes evil
Andrew du Bois actually the reason that is said is because of the sith bending the force to their will. By doing so they are denied the ability to force ghost and think the living is the only life you get. Their absolute is the fact they don’t take into account other paths to power.
@@someone7150 I think Obi-Wan's dialogue was meant to distinguish the 'relative' nature the Jedi have with the Force versus the 'absolute' nature the Sith practiced with the Force. To the Sith, the Force is a tool that must be subdued and bent to the will of the user. It is an object that either is under the absolute control of the user or it is void. To the Jedi, the Force is respected in a more personified fashion in which there is a relationship, almost symbiotic, and built on a transaction of letting go of their own control and letting the inherent power of the Force "flow through them".

I was absolutely stunned in the theater seeing my favorite character Luke Skywalker, the walking definition of Hope, reduced to a dead beat fearful grumpy old man. Thanks for saying what we all are thinking!
@Otissor and yet... He is luke though. Just in a different mind set. It. Is. Luke.
@Otissor what?
Klucas4 SW Gaming hmm, I don't think so, it feels like they forced his personality to fit the story of the film.
@Otissor First of all, Luke did not consider killing his nephew. After sensing that "Snoke had already turned his heart" and seeing a Force vision of Ben "responsible for the death and destruction of everything [he] cared about", Luke reacted "in a moment of pure instinct" by igniting his lightsaber to defeat the evil before him... but immediately 'snapped out of it' and realized what he had done and regretted loosing control of himself. (Not too unlike loosing control of himself in ROTJ by giving in to anger to defeat Darth Vader.)
Unfortunately, Luke awoke Ben, who reacted in the worst way by destroying the Jedi training temple, taking some of the students, and killing the rest.
Luke explained to Rey that the Jedi had ultimately failed the galaxy by becoming a pawn of the Republic and allowing a Sith Lord to gain control of the galaxy, right under their noses. After Luke's failure with Ben, Luke became demoralized and decided that "It's time for the Jedi to end."
But Luke did not entirely give up or desire to die. He simply did not want to be found and shut himself off from the Force.
Even after years of seclusion, Luke decided to give 'no one from nowhere' Rey a chance. But on her first lesson, she "went straight to the dark" after "it showed [her] something she wanted to know and [she] didn't even try to resist it". After her Force communications with Ben (via Snoke) and threatening with a lightsaber for "the truth", Luke realized that something was not 'on the level' with Rey or her "place in all this"... and pleaded with her to not go to Ben: "This is not going to go the way you think!"
But with Yoda's guidance, Luke eventually came around and put his life at risk in an effort to save his friends and family - just as he did in ROTJ. His last words to Ben, "The Rebellion is reborn today. The war is just beginning. And I will not be the last Jedi. See ya 'round, kid."
That doesn't sound like a "totally different character" to me. Sounds like it's you who needs to watch TLJ again.

True, but he's not really talking about her comments specifically. He's giving his view on the direction of the sequels and the fandom's response to them.
I can understand how she felt that she wasn’t able to state her full unfiltered thoughts being in the position she is. I just wish people would say "I hated it because x, y, z" but not pretend it's all real fans hating it. My 2 credits.
I take issue with saying that since some fans disagreed with a decision that means it was "wrong".
@@BrentTK421 I only brought up both long time fans AND new ones to show that's it's not 1 single group in the community that's unhappy with where Star Wars is going. I'm 22 and I've loved Star Wars since I was 5. I despised TLJ. I will never tell you that you should or should not like TLJ, because that's not my place. However you are definitely in the minority of the fanbase when it comes to TLJ. I would gladly list off every single last tiny issue I had with TLJ, but that wasn't the purpose of my comment. My goal was to show that EVERYONE whether TLJ was your first Star Wars film or if you've been a fan since the 70s, all groups have a real problem with modern Star Wars
You are correct. These wrong decisions were one thing. However, the most egregious sin that's been committed, something that cannot be fixed with a movie, is the open attacks on the fandom. The employees from Lucasfilm/Disney hurling labels and insults at the fans is unacceptable. At the end of the day, Disney/Lucasfilm are a business whose purpose is to make money, and you cannot make money when you insult your fanbase openly and publically and expect them to still come spend their money. The fans deserve an apology from Disney/Lucasfilm and until that happens the fans are going to keep their money and spend it on something else.
@@Boskov01 Insulting your fanbase is absolutely the most reprehensible thing you could do, and they lost a ton of Star Wars fans forever because of it. George Lucas made Star Wars, so everything he made OR approved is Cannon. He sold it to Disney, so this is now the Disney Star Wars Universe. There are two different Star Wars, and i think we all know which one we prefer.
... and... Han and Leia stayed strong, dealing with the tragedy of losing two children. Mara Jade was the example of a Strong Character. Ben Skywalker was the invested and relatable character of adolescent teens.
I like the Disney canon a lot more. The EU was alright though
I thought I was the only one that has read the legacy books and knows what we ,as fans, really missed out on. I waited in line for two hours in 1977 to see "A New Hope" and have been a life long fan, what Disney has done is offensive to the extreme. If you doubt these words, please see for yourself what you have missed out on. Go to wookieepedia.com and search Legacy books time line, find Return of the Jedi, and start reading from that point forward in time. There are about 70 years of Star Wars legacy history documented, with all of your favorite charters. Many of these stories are better than the first 6 Lucas movies.
I've only been a fan for 3 - 5 years tops. I was under the biggest rock, and never really was interested in Star Wars. I really fell in love with the Clone Wars animated series as it enriched everything that happened in the films, and I met one of my favourite characters to boot.
I remember being so excited for Episode 7, new Star Wars, and then, well...
I understood what people felt about Luke and Star Wars, even though I didn't properly grow up with it. Before I saw it in their eyes, and heard it in their voices; I saw it in the excellent (though not always perfect) Storytelling, character development and world building. To me... the Disney Trilogy has failed.
Rogue One is the only Disney content they put out (besides some books) that I consider to be canon.

I totally agree with you about TLJ. Although I'm not a hard core fan, I am a fan that have seen the OT and PT like dozens of time. I really wanted to see Luke be that Jedi master in the ST. The whole time when I was watching TLJ in theater I was giving excuses saying Luke is different but it'll be okay. And when Luke was fighting Kylo I was like this is the moment I have been waiting for and then it became apparent that he wasn't actually there (which i prefer that he was), I was hopeful saying it's okay. And then when I saw Luke on that rock with the setting of the sun... I knew at that moment that he was going to disappear. The Luke that I grew up with... is going to disappear. WTHeck! I have been waiting for Luke since the TFA and they just kill him off like this. Really? I was disheartened and felt like I was lied to.
How dare they title the new SW "Rise of Skywalker," as if Luke is coming back to life. It got my hopes up that it could be possible that Luke could come back to life, but when I heard Mark Hamil's interview saying he's done with SW and that the only reason Jedi's ever get to come back are through force ghost. @@TheBenojacko You explained it better than I could have! It's like, not only is TLJ a bad movie, its just outright offensive and an insult for most fans
@Rune Kristensen - I don't know how you define a good film and what age you are.
A good film must have a good story, storytelling and character development that goes with the story.
When it comes to CGI and action The Last Jedi was off course much better than Phantom Menace. The sound were also flawless and the many photo art-ish scenes very beautiful.
In The phantom menace the digital effects were not developed enough. JarJar, the podrace scene and actingskills were bad.
But The Phantom Menace broght us astonishing new worlds and connected to the whole OT and gave us so much.
Here are some issues that disturbs me with The Last Jedi
........the bombing scene!
Yes, star wars is fiction, but throughout the whole franchise there is a star wars realism that every director has respected. But not Rian Johnson, all of a sudden there is gravity in space.....!!??
......or not in the scene with Leia, where she can fly........Furthermore she can survive in space without her blood boiling, freezing to death and as mentioned now even can fly.
Rian Johnson also destroyed the fact that you could escape using hyper drive. You can also defeat any deathstar like weapon of the first order from now on by "kamikazing" any bigger or mid size ship into the first orders deathstar-ish weapon.
Luke:
Why did he leave the map, if he didn't want to be found ever???
A much better story, for instance, Luke could have expanded the Jedi temple, training the future jedi knights building a new jedi warrior clan. We could have learned about the knights of Ren and why Kylo had "skipped class"
Or Luke could've turned in to a sith, learning how to be even more powerful.
He could've been keept as a prisoner by sith guards for Rey to rescue him.
There could've been so many interesting storylines for Rian Johnson to develop.
Why didn't he use the outline that JJ had worked out?
Why the need to insult him?
The biggest hero in film making history, always positive and never giving up hope (the first ep of the original trilogy A New Hope was referring to Luke) - now portrayed as an old grumpy sucidal grumpy man being a coward hiding on a deserted island looking crazy milking and drinking green milk from a giant sea monster with his beard all soiled!!!!! Then dyeing of exhaustion and dehydration sitting on a rock!!!
Come on, that's not a good story or a worthy portrait of the biggest hero in film making history!
Why the total insult? What purpose did that have to bring the story forward?
When Rian Johnson was asked how he came up with the story, his answer was that he didn't work with an over all storyline. He said that he took each and every character and asked himself what could be the absolute worst case for them....... That at least explains why there isn't any storyline connecting with the final episode, why the story doesn't continue from TFA and why Rian Johnson didn't bother to give any answers...... He is incompetent and totally useless as a writer. He blew it! Ep 8 could've been epic!!!
What about the embarrassing plot holes?
When Finn and Rose found out that the one and only and totally unique code master expert was not to be found on the casino planet, they got put in jail for wrong parking : ) and then as the most convenient coincidence, the guy in the bunk bed just next to them is ALSOOO an expert super unique code master....... Such a pathetically bad writing! A ten year old could have come up with a better stor.
Rian Johnson is an idiot.
Rian Johnsons masterpiece as he labels TLJ himself.
It's totally okay to like the film. I like a bunch of really bad films, but I would never argue that they are good films in a filmmaking point of view.
How on earth can anyone defend the character of Holdo???
This is the worst and most embarrassing way to promote feminism. Think of it in the other way around. Whenever in film making history is a superior middle aged white man bullying a young woman considered a hero?
The storyline surrounding vice admiral Holdo is just so badly written that it is not just insulting the viewers intelligence it's an insult to real strong women in reality. And even worse, it's counterproductive and has created a backlash among young men that after these types of idiotic feminism has increased largely - it creates hate towards feminists and women.
To promote women in films, just follow the rules how to create men heroes. Make them likeable, make them go thru difficulties och develop and not just being overpowered or as in this case an superior bully and an asshole!
Look at characters like Ripley in Alien, Laura Croft or Alice in Resident Evil. They are all cherished and loved by both men and women.
Finn was an interesting character in TFA, a defector of the first order struggling with his inner moral. To become a comic relief with one liners in TLJ.
And even worse, the character of Rose - totally meaningless!
After had crashing into Finn in order to save him, how on earth could the have survived sittings there chitt chatting and she declaring her love, when there is a ful blown war going on. There are a whole bunch of AT's and storm troopers there aiming at them.
I can understand that some criticize the bad digital effects in the prequels, but George Lucas has always been a pioneer. He saw the amazing opportunities with digitalisation of fx.

Let's hope ep9 will unite all STAR WARS fans again.

Thanks for being awesome, and may the force be with you!
When I first saw it, before seeing any videos tearing it apart, there were two issues I had by the end.
The first being how they killed off Admiral Akbar. I feel like he was an established enough character to earn a proper death.
The second was the scene where they show the black market selling to both side. It made me feel like the war meant nothing to the rest of the galaxy, like they were off in their own corner of the universe having no effect on anyone else.
I also took Mark Hamill's words into consideration going in and how he felt about his character.
Looking back on it though, I personally feel like it could have done without the whole space chase, mutiny, and side quest. To me they had a sort of Shadows of the Empire kind of feel to it and wasn't proper Episode material. Almost like it could have been relocated to the opening crawl or mentioned.
I would have much preferred to see more of Rey's training, the connection between Kylo Ren & Rey, the planet Crait, and more tie in to the previous film.
It might also suffer from not having a gap in between the movies as well. Would have loved to see Wedge come back too.
Maybe that's just me, but it's how I feel. Didn't hate the movie... just didn't think it was great either.
I remember wanting Wedge to return to Star Wars early on, but after seeing how the rest of the OT characters have been treated in the ST, I'm starting to think that Dennis Lawson is the smartest of the OT cast.

@@carterwarren796 How though? Rey was a 100% textbook Mary Sue with no personality. The rest of the movie was just fan service. Even Luke needed training and experience, and failed repeatedly as he learned to use the force, yet the shit just happens for Rey immediately and naturally, and she bests a sith trained by both Luke Skywalker AND Snoke because the universe bends to the needs of a Mary Sue character. It COULD have been great if they wrote her as an actual character and not a personification of a social agenda.
Just showing her failing before she succeed would have gone a long way to improving her story. The excitement and emotional attachment is in the journey and the wonder of "what's going to happen?" not in knowing the shit's just gonna work itself out and the character has no reason or need to grow, improve, or any chance at failing because she's just that awesome. @@devinwitt6606 to be honest dude that was the nail on the head. It's the antithesis of what starwars is, for no other reason than to exercise creative freedom. And it never was meant to evolve the art. It was meant to put his little stamp on it. It was so egotistical.

They literally turned Luke into a deadbeat in my eyes. I'm from the same background as you, 90's kid raised by my mom and her family. Luke not only abandon's his family, he tries to kill his nephew who then turns to the dark side and never tries to bring him back. that is 1000000% NOT Luke.
@cptsteele91 I get that he was he hero in the ot and he was a powerful character, but it was really interesting what they did with his character, it would have been boring as hell to see his character be the same as he was in rotj, they definetely needed to do some more building up with what they did preferably in tfa but it was interesting to see a tired and worn out luke who wanted to run away from his overwhelming legacy, status and power but in the end learnt through all his faliures and sacrificed himself in a great scene
One of the major themes of the movie is overcoming failure. Yoda literally says it: “Pass on what you have learned. Strength, mastery, hmm… but weakness, folly, failure also. Yes: failure, most of all. The greatest teacher, failure is. Luke, we are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters.”
Luke is still inspiring in the Last Jedi. No, he’s not the brash, youthful learner or the matured young man from the original trilogy. He’s a bit of a grouchy old reluctant mentor who’s down on his luck. But he still works past it and helps the next generation move forward.
To me, Luke as the downtrodden man who has made many mistakes but learns to keep moving and to inspire a spark of hope in the future generations is just as amazing as Luke as the future generation leading the world forward.
@@yung_bonsai I do like what they did with Luke in the Last Jedi.
However.
Let’s assume for a second that it was a mistake, as many people agree it is. Following on the tail of the Force Awakens, what would you have had them do? Luke has been missing. If he was connected to the Force, he would have sensed the incoming destruction of multiple planet, or at least the death of Han. These are the facts that Rian Johnson and his team had to work with. They could not change them. This was out of their control.
So.
What would you have had them write instead?
Luke is on the planet for some reason and is still connected to the Force, but DOESN’T try to help the galaxy or his friend? That would be an even greater crime against the character, IMO.
What would you have had them do?
If you have a problem with this, your problem shouldn’t be with Rian Johnson, but rather with the previous movie.
@@_somerandomguyontheinternet_True, but the thing is, Rian didn't capitalize on anything they established in the previous movie beyond the bare basics

My take on TLJ: There were some really cool moments, but it just felt like a TFA part two and a waste of a second act, especially when every other second act had some sort of time passing and progression. Yoda was cool, I thought Luke was completely in character with tons of evidence why, but they just made some bad decisions too. Plus I could've literally wrote the movie and added so many more badass scenes with more references instead of "Let the past die." Thank you for your time
also what would be your opinion if they added a fourth movie to this set just to have more content that they missed with TLJ?

BoredHub if you watch again, Luke’s reaction is very realistic, he almost seems traumatized when he sees what Kylo will unleash and for a split second he thinks he can stop it all, but then realizes how horrible that would be. He realized how horrible it would be. It’s humanizing and shows how even the greatest of heroes have bad temptations just like everyday people. The dark side will always be a temptation that must be avoided.
@BoredHub also, Luke was originally trying to kill Vader, then he realized he wouldnt fall to the dark and tried to bring him back. He makes the same mistake with kylo, he falls to the dark and cuts himself off from the force, then redeems himself by coming back to the light, confessing his failure and apologizing to ben
Luke saw the pain that Ben would incur, and for a moment thought he could stop it but the thought left in an instant. It was pure temptation he experienced. It was a mistake, without a doubt, and he lost his way and disconnected himself from the force. He made the right choice at first, but that does not guarantee he would never be tempted to it. He unfortunately made a mistake, Ben was afraid and defended himself. Luke’s failure wasn’t giving in, but being tempted.
@@NateMestre How about the fact that Rey is a textbook Mary Sue? She has 0 training in the force, no combat training was ever implied in her background, yet the first time she picks up a lightsaber she bests Kylo Ren, who has over a decade of training from not only Luke Skywalker, but also Snoke? Yes, he was injured, but he was far from vulnerable, and he in fact keeps punching his own wound because the pain makes him stronger. No problem for Mary Sue Rey though, just 1v1 him first try with no training whatsoever.
And don't say "oh the Force is amped up because of the imbalance!" The same was true in the original trilogy, but Luke still needed training to be effective. But everyone around a Mary Sue suddenly becomes less potent and less competent because that's how Mary Sues work, the universe bends to their needs according to the plot instead of the character growing and advancing.
Or how, without any background explaining how she would know how to repair (let alone fly) a ship, she can repair the Millennium Falcon better than Han Solo, who has owned, operated, and maintained it for decades? She was a scavenger, that doesn't mean she knows how to use the parts she finds. I can go pull a bunch of parts out at a scrapyard, that doesn't mean I know how to rebuild a motor. It's ridiculous.
Or the fact that she (again, with 0 training in the Force) not only resists having her mind read by Kylo, but reads HIS mind? Then after Snoke's death, she instinctively uses the Force while resisting Kylo? All of this is because "SHE'S JUST THAT AWESOME!" Even Anakin, the child of the prophecy who was born to bring balance to the force needed training. Luke, who DID bring balance to the force at a time Palps and Vader ruled with an iron fist needed training. But nope, not Rey because she's just that awesome. None of it is logical or explained in a way that's consistent with the SW universe.
Was a kid for the OT, very well versed in the EU, the games, etc. TLJ was NOT in line with the essence of what Star Wars had been for 40 years.
It is as though Ruin NEVER saw anything Star Wars.
He wasn't a fan. Anyone who's been a fan for decades wouldn't make the piece of crap that he made.
The Last Jedi ( SJO cut ) has arrived!

Grab it while you can!
Well said Star Wars Theory, ive been a fan since the OT, yes im old lol, but i completely agree with your point of view.
I was never a hater of the prequels, but i got to relive them again, when i introduced my son to Star Wars. He loves the clone wars etc too. The most awesome moment was when he said to me, "Dad, how did Anakin become Darth Vader" (coz he was young, he hadnt seen ROTS), sitting him down with it and watching it with him was an amazing experience. Seeing him cry and scream out No, No, No as Anakin turned to the Darkside and Order 66, reminds me of how powerful this whole story is,. He is 5, and when he watched TLJ, he said to me that it wasnt that good.
I think Rian, didnt care for the previous storyline, and it showed in the final product.
Love Your work!
Cheers
Can't tell if "Ruin" was an ironic typo or a very clever pun..
See, it's not just a question of opinion, it's also a question of quality. People can enjoy it, power to you, but it's also a badly writen movie.
Isn't calling it a badly written movie also still just an opinion
I don't think it is. Does that just make me wrong?
I can get on-board with the general theme, but good grief some of the most cheesy throw away moments in Star Wars history are in this movie.
@@budthecyborg4575 exactly. It could have been good if it was handled better
@@budthecyborg4575 Star wars has always been cheesy to me. The only movies that arent to me are Rouge One, Ep3 and Ep5.
Hello there! I grew up during the Prequels, and I have a newfound respect for that era. The great games, many memes. It’s a fun time. Original trilogy, prequels, sequels, let’s all have our own opinions about them in a healthy manner.
did this man here predict that palpatine would come back in episode 9 and exactly how he would do it
"you are a hater"
"I HATE THAT"
The irony xD
He could save others from hate but not himself.
Best irony and twist was when I accused one man of being hater because of him calling me hater due to his negative opinion about my negative opinion was still negative opinon. So technically he was spreading hate about my opinion.
Ad actually I was 100% right. If I say I don't like something it's mi right to do so. We can have different opinions. If somebody start to insult me for that he's hater. Actually "Hate in web and "Hate" as feeling aren't same. I can hate sand in my asscrack, but I don't run around making company about sand being whore or insult sand.
@@Petaurista13 wtf are you rambling about
Real talk: The Last Jedi sucked !!!
Dan Jordan ah, I see your a man of culture as well.
There is one glaring major issue for me regarding TLJ that I don't see anyone bringing up. Keep in mind that TLJ immediately starts where TFA ends off. When you watch both movies back to back like one long movie, you really realize how non sequitur TLJ is, in relation to TFA. Many of the characters even go drastically "out of character" by the time you get to the end. It's a complete train wreck when you watch both movies back to back.
On the flip side, I found the cinematography, sound design, vfx, and score to be all incredibly stunning!
TLJ was the first Star Wars movie ever that left me feeling really bummed out and depressed when I left the theatre. Star Wars is about going on a thrill ride adventure and having fun. If there was a way to get a refund for TLJ, I would have. I tried really hard to love this movie, but in the end, I just couldn't.
@@darkthorpocomicknight7891 www.quora.com/How-much-time-passes-in-Star-Wars-between-The-Last-Jedi-and-Rise-of-Skywalker
tlj does start right after tfa. All 3 movies happen roughly in the same year according to the official Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker The Visual Dictionary.
Even John Boyega confirmed. www.esquire.com/entertainment/movies/a25671329/star-wars-9-the-last-jedi-time-difference/

Star Wars Theory I was born the year that ROTS came out in theaters, yes I may be young however I love Star Wars with a passion. I grew up loving it, Watching the movies constantly, buying the merchandise, and learning about all about the Star Wars universe as a whole. I own all the movies and read about it. I watch your videos consistently as well, so thank you for playing a great role of teaching me even more about Star Wars! I’ve watched all the episodes of Star Wars so much I lost count. Star Wars Theory long story short, I feel like I know just as much as an adult fan of Star Wars.
Now keep in mind I mean that in the nicest way possible and I’m not at all trying to sound like some kind of snob.😂
Your not a snob... It's just your saying your honest opinion. I know, its weird saying an opinion these days right?
Im the same way man, starwars lead me my whole life and I began creating after I had learned all i could about this universe, constantly learning more about it aswell , but now i create because of it im bringing the universe to life by making replica props and costumes and already have 3 life size droids about to make 4 more 😂
How u even read the countless novels there is? It’s just not movies.. there’s bob a fett books and so on... u got 10 yrs of reading to catch up kid
My frustration with E8 resides simply in the fact that it was political, I come to star wars for escape from the real world specifically politics, especially if it's something I disagree with. It just feels like I'm force fed broccoli when I was told I was getting ice cream.
Correct. The political ideology is called Postmodernism. it is driving a lot of what you are seeing from Disney. It is aligned, weirdly, with marxist feminism.
@BLACK NAZI I know that's usually how politics works but Star Wars was relatively free of it, up until this last movie.
I agree, I cried when Luke tried to kill a child sleeping in his bed. This really fits home for me, cuz my mother had scitzopherinia, and though the devil worshiper were coming to get me, so she tried to kill me in my bed. So to see Lule Skywalker do something similar was very traumatic for me.
He didn't try to kill kylo. it was a gut reaction that he didn't follow through with it
At the end of the day sw theory is just a simple man trying to make his way in the galaxy
Please do a vid with Thor Skywalker. I think you two would get along well.
Hans Dampf I like Thor skywalker but he seems too negative compared to SWTheory
@@psychogoji he's not negative, he's just got a more deliberate and slower delivery. The video he made on this same subject was very positive. It'd be interesting to see how these two would mesh their styles.
I Unsubscribed from Thor Skywalker because he kept moaning and moaning about TLJ and how Star Wars was destroyed. He can make an argument for everything, but at some point if your friend keeps wining about his ex-gf for two years, you get tired. At this point the fandom is not divided into those who hated TLJ and those who liked, instead is divided between those who have moved on and those who have not. .
Hans Dampf he’s a bit too negative, almost like geeks and gamers Jeremy
Yesssss! This needs to be a thing!!!!!!
